The time I went I had a delicious lobster sandwich and some incredible homemade cake. As good as the best big city places, but with down to earth small town friendly service and reasonable prices.

I was in Truro on business last week, and a local friend strongly recommended I grab some lunch here. I’m so glad she did! The Fireside Tea Room is a tiny little corner of a large, beautiful store. The tin ceiling is gorgeous! I heard the soup highly recommended, but I went with the quiche of the day(cheddar and broccoli) with the house salad. My must-have recommendation is the homemade poppy seed dressing — it’s worth the drive to Truro, seriously. Everything is made in-house, including the desserts. I had to try the lemon angel food cake. I don’t know the last time I had homemade angel food cake — it was amazingly light and neither the cake nor the filling was too sweet. Gorgeous! Puts grocery store angel food cake totally in the shade! I can’t wait to come back to Truro and have another meal here. I think they’re most open only for lunch and tea, but I think they’re open for supper on Friday nights until 7 pm? Double check!
