I don’t know how I missed this ploace. I thought it might be a bit sketch seeing as it is at Bloor and Lansdowne, but it is a perfectly lovely spot. Excellent crema, perfect temperature coffee, fresh sweets and it has a quiet and welcoming atmosphere, roomy and airy, and coconut lattes! It beats all the other shops in the hood like Holy Oak, The guitar repair and Coffee shop and Haven by a mile with its authenticity and REAL coffee.

This is my favorite coffee shop in Toronto. Derek, the owner, is always around with a big smile on and makes the whole place incredibly welcoming. I come here a few times a week(my beverage of choice is their latte) and to sit down and get some work done. So happy this place is close by and I send everyone here!

This is a nice relaxing café. The coffee has always been fresh. It’s got a nice dark ambiance with some comfy seats and free wifi.

This is a nice place to grab a coffee if you’re in the area. They have a very interesting décor and I really like their furniture and vintage style posters scattered across the shop. The employees are friendly and they have a wide range of drinks on their menu. For a little bit more than what you would get at Starbucks, this place is a better option. They also have daily made baked goods such as rolls, muffins and cookies. Also an area which has take out items for lunch such as packed pre made salads. Very healthy options if you’re looking to grab a bite to eat here. It’s also got plenty of space, so if you plan to hang out a bit there is Wifi and pretty comfortable seating spread out along the interior. Overall a nice place to grab that morning boost, and be sure to try their Coconut Latte.

Si vous venez de Montréal et que vous passez par-là pendant la journée, allez dire bonjour à la sympathique dame derrière le comptoir.

As I type away, I’m sitting here at TCTH. As most reviews have stated it was originally called the Toronto Coffee Company. Due to owner complications, it shut down for more than a couple month and re-opened. Nothing changed except management and it isn’t as «anti-bourgeois» any more. What I really like about the café is the lovely little lady behind the counter in the morning. She’s on point and does her job well. Also the owners are easy to talk to. The only reason why I’m not giving them five stars, is that I’ve had better coffee for less than the amount they currently charge. The food is good, some of it is healthy, and the atmosphere is chill.

Diana D. perhaps you should do better research before you accuse others of unethical business practices. The Toronto Coffee & Tea House is not formerly the Toronto Coffee Company. It is a totally new, separate operation put in place by one of the former owners of the Toronto Coffee Company. The link you provided is for the other partner of what was the Toronto Coffee Company. The partnership was dissolved for reasons which you are not privy to. No one stole his business. Perhaps before you write such trash you might want to enquire about both sides of the story. In any case, The Toronto Coffee Company has nothing to do with The Toronto Coffee & Tea House. I found, like others, that the atmosphere here was very pleasant, relaxing and friendly. My preferred beverage was the iced tea that they served in the summer. I’m not a coffee drinker, but have tasted their teas and they are quite good. I have to confess though that my weakness where their food is concerned is for the chocolate cupcakes which are wonderful. They also serve wraps and salads which are made fresh and a great choice if you’re in the area for lunch or just something to eat. When winter comes I plan to be a regular there ordering hot chocolate and soaking up the great atmosphere.

Probably the best coffee shop toronto has to offer! Great music selection, right next to a subway stop, great neighborhood, and a super friendly staff. Indie Coffee at its finest. Bonus: they’ve got the fastest internet signal of any nearby coffee shop. Definitely coming back!

My gauge for a good coffee place is «can they pull a decent Americano?» Toronto Coffee delivers: strong, hot, flavourful and not bitter. A great vibe and décor; dark wood, comfortable chairs and coaches, jazz and blues on the music system.

Gazing up at vintage stylised Marilyn image listening to «Please Mr. Postman»… I’m at a cute, cozy and kind café in the rough and tumble intersection of Bloor and Landsdown«Toronto Coffee & Tea House». Not rough at all in here! I’m sipping on the most innovative latte I’ve had to date… A COCONUT Latte: made with coconut milk and vanilla… mmmmm… Coconut being a natural anti-depressant, its the perfect way to warm up from this –7 degree so called«spring» day! HA! Where’s that groundhog when you need him? Other delicious things are an the menu too… Like a caramel roibus latte, vegan cupcake and carrot-ginger soup! There is also an array of tea flavours you can bulk-buy as the title would suggest… «Mango rose», «honey lemongrass» and«japan sencha» to name a few. The barrista’s smile is genuinely warm, and the ambiance is a kind of «pseudo-shabby» Glam, with its rubbed wood and stucco panels mixed with exposed brick and chandalier. I dig it. Seating is all for intimate solos or duos, with a window bar for people watching and a comfy leather sofa near a table covered of local art flyers to peruse. Aint nothin’ like the real thing baby!

Tea and coffee that is good and fresh and doesn’t have anything to prove. Baked goods(muffins, coffee, rolls, etc.) that are made daily and sooooo good. There is a fridge with yummy looking containers of healthy salads(quinoa, couscous, chickpeas). Together this makes the place feel like the nicest visit to your friend who knows her way around the kitchen. If you want a 15 minute lecture on the origin of coffee beans and the temperature for roasting, you need to go further east. Free wifi is available and there’s lots of workspace, but you may be distracted by the cheery background music, even though you probably don’t know the language. The atmosphere and the nice woman behind the counter invite you to linger. Bloordale is getting better every day but TCTH is bringing a ray of light to a corner that really needs it. Now, if I could just stick to the coffee and resist those baked goods!

The Toronto Coffee and Tea House is halfway between Bloor Street and the Lansdowne Subway Station, a few steps up from street level, occupying the same site as the former Toronto Coffee Company. I came to it because of the Indie Coffee Passport, and came back to it because of their amazing Apple Cinnamon Muffin. When I visit coffee passport cafes, I pretty much stick to having one of the coffees to go, but when I saw the tray of freshly baked muffins, I could not resist. I chose the Apple Cinnamon from that day’s selection which included mixed fruit and carrot, and I also had a double Americano. The Americano was very hot and had an edge, not bitter but strong. The muffin was so soft with that bit of crunch on the top which I love, lightly spiced with cinnamon which highlighted the fresh taste of apple. I tore off little bits to enjoy with the coffee on my walk, and even had some left to enjoy at home. I came back again with my Passport Partner, who had the Coconut Latte which he found quite intriguing. He and I stayed to share a home made Date Square which had a meltingly creamy texture and very distinct yet light taste. I’m glad we stayed because it would have been messy to eat while walking with a coffee, and I’m glad we shared because it would have been too rich to finish on my own. The young ladies behind the counter were friendly and helpful, and obviously proud of their café. Rightly so.
