NEVERGOTOTHISPLACETOGETYOURHAIRCOLOURED! Worst place ever. I had to get my hair colored ASAP because I was leaving for a trip. I had to wait for at least 30 minutes before I was attended to. Then the hairstylist didn’t even inquire a lot about what I wanted. This pissed me off in the end because after waiting for 2 hours, my hair had no change at all to it. The lady then said that it was because of the lighting so I let it go and paid $ 90, for my «ombré». There was no difference whatsoever in my hair even when I went out.

Possibly one of the worst haircuts I have had in years. The stylist seemed inattentive and cut my hair with very little water, no clips, and my fringe was INCREDIBLY uneven. She managed to make my hair worse than my wierd in between shaggy stage, so bad that I had to get it fixed the next day after a night of being in denial about how terrible the cut was. I have no idea where she learned to cut hair, but I would not recommend that school to anyone planning on styling women’s hair. She should be a barber, as her cut style is way better suited to it. I am still just so incredulous that someone who did such a bad cut job is somehow working. I have had some wonderful cuts at other Top Cuts locations, so it’s just this particular one with the issues.

I came in during my lunch hour to see how busy/pricey it was. There was hardly anything going on when I popped in and I wasn’t really acknowledged. I asked someone cutting hair if they accepted credit cards(they did) and if they’d be very busy after 5. She said no so I decided to come back after work. Upon arrival, it was even more dead inside. There was no one who seemed to work there, at least no one willing to acknowledge new customers. You have to sign in so they can keep track of who arrived when and in what order. Not exactly necessary. The two barbers were taking a reasonable amount of time on each haircut as there were a few people ahead of me. However, between finishing one cut and staring the next, they didn’t seem very concerned with time. When it came to me, I was paired with a seemingly competent male stylist who did a so-so job on my hair. It wasn’t rushed and he tried to make some small talk but didn’t seem too responsive. When my cut was finished, it wasn’t very neat. Uneven in some places and rather messy in others. It was ok but not up to the standard I’m used to. There were two reasons I chose to go here rather than my local barber., Besides being conveniently located near my office, they were the price and the hours of operation. My local barber charges $ 25 + expected tip and is closed by 6:30. Unless I go on Saturday. He also only takes cash. This place charged about half that($ 17 with tip) and their hours are much more accessible. Still, I felt I needed to go to my local barber much sooner than normal after my Topcuts experience for a clean up. Overall, I didn’t find the atmosphere welcoming or very pleasant. Plus, the haircut was only so-so. I’f I needed another cut desperately, maybe I’d consider this place, but I won’t likely be seeking out another Topcuts in the near future.

$ 15 for a solid woman’s haircut. Given my very long hair they should have charged extra $ 5 according to their price, but they didn’t. I’ve gotten my hair cuts at various levels of places including the poshest in downtown. Topcuts obviously cannot compete with the best of such places, but as you’ll know, the chances of actually getting a very good cut even though you’re willing to spend the dough are sadly low. Topcuts gave me a good-enough, very solid haircut at such a bargain price. I might not come here to get my hair cut for a very important event, but for everything else, I’d be happy to return. My stylist was Amy — highly recommended.

I was in dire need of gettin’ the lid chopped on a Sunday and I paced all over downtown Toronto, and couldn’t find anything open. Then until I found this little nook in the wall. The sign outside said $ 15, which immediately sent a chill down my spine. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any alternative choices so I nervously opened the door. «Hi sir, can I help you with something?!?» Once I heard that, I almost considered turning around and leaving. I had to momentarily stop and make sure I was at the right place. I mean… can you help me with something!!! Yeah, I’d like a Big Mac and fries with some sweet and sour sauce on the side, a $ 1,000 in cash, and a new pair of shoes for work. Can you help me with that!!! It was certainly a bit concerning that the hair dresser didn’t immediately consider that I was there to get my hair cut. Maybe she didn’t really feel like working? Whatever the case may be, I had no choice. I anxiously jumped into the chair and held my breath for the next twenty-five minutes. I thought I was headed down the same path towards anger that Vivek S. ventured down… and I was going to have to pay $ 5 more then he did! Thankfully, when I opened my eyes 25 minutes later my head wasn’t shaved, my side burns appeared even, I assumed the back of my head didn’t have my initials buzzed into it and most of my early-stage grey hair was on the floor. $ 15 plus tax and I was outta there in a snap. Quick and easy. A week later, it looks like a competent individual cut my hair. Unfortunately, those grey hairs are already back.

Oh, the price of adultery. A while ago, my regular hair place wouldn’t see me on a Friday night and it rubbed me the wrong way. Said they were«busy» and to «make an appointment» for next week. Whatever. So I walked down the block to smiling and sexy Topcuts; her winking sandwich board promised $ 10 haircuts. I walked in. I waited forever. And when it was done, I so, so regretted it. I regret it more now that the hair has grown in. I’ll never stray again. Obligatory Title Pun: Forget it TOP, you’re CUT. Menu Readability: A menu? In a hair salon? Bwhahaha, you crazy. Need to mention: It’s not $ 10 for a haircut. It’s $ 10 for a child’s haircut, and $ 15 for a men’s. I saved no money coming here. What this place teaches me about myself: You can’t always get what you want; next time I’ll just make a G.D. appointment.

Out of 5 haircuts, it seems that I have at least one bad haircut. I don’t think I’m going back to the TopCuts on Bay/College again… Even though the location is very good and the price is fairly low. Unfortunately, the level of quality is not the same across all of the hair stylists and the business model doesn’t encourage setting up appointments. Looks like I’m going to have to pay more money to go somewhere where I can find a regular hair dresser that does a consistent good job. I also hate how I always tip even if the hair cut seems not good as I hoped for. I think that when I get home that I may be able to restyle it so it will turn out fine… I wonder if there are other people that have a hard time telling the hair dresser to their face that they did a lousy job and tip nothing or little at all.
