i love this little place. its quick and super cheap and when i walk in there i feel like a little kid. its set up very simply where you have a long corridor you walk down and on either side are a couple of shelves that run the length of it and have atop each of them clear plastic cases/covers that house different asian — i believe mostly chinese, perhaps the odd vietnamese — pastries. the average price is 3 for a buck. so that might mean 3 curried beef buns for a buck, or 3(im sure) deep fried sesame balls(i didnt know that sesame had ba. sorry-i think i just became my father in one split second). or perhaps if you are in a hurry and want a cheap breakie, you can get yourself a breaded pork(basically their take on the schnitzel) sandwich with lettuce and mayo on(what i would call) a challah bun. its all egg bread — fluffy, chewy and lots of it. i think a bit too much for my liking. i prefer more filling but hey its 3 for a buck. or get 4 spring rolls for a buck — room temperature but crunchy! another strange thing is that though they have tongs to pick up all this stuff they dont have bags at the ready, but rather you just drop it on these plastic see-then-at-the-food-courts-at-the-mall trays and i dont know why but that kinda grosses me out, and im not a germ phobe either. but hey — a buck!
