I really like this location — I actually go out of my way to come by and sit in the window and unwind watching all the busy businesspeople and shoppers outside. Great location by Nathan Phillips square. The servers are friendly and the layout is kind of fun. If there are no window seats it’s not as good though. But! Tea is less expensive than at Starbucks. Which is nice.

Pretty interiors and friendly Barista guys. Some of these Barista guys are rather cute as well. However, I’m just not that into the smokey flavor most canadian coffee houses have in their coffee. Being a yank might mean that Canadians will say that our coffee has no boldness. Smokey and boldness are two different flavors and Timothy definately has a smokey flavor along with a boldness. It was a nice coffee house.

I used to work on Bay St in the Canada Trust building for William Mercer. I went out for all three meals every day because I didn’t have a kitchen to cook in. I enjoyed my hot chocolate or coffee at Timothy’s and once during a WWE Event we went there to have a drink, and a dessert. I had a good time. Love the classy trendy look of the place. A great place to meet new people if you are on the dating scene!

This was shaping up to be a solid 4 star review until the following events took place: With only 4% of battery power remaining on my MacBook Pro and still many minutes away from submitting an assignment, I started to have a bit of a panic shit. There were no outlets in sight. Like, not a single outlet anywhere, and I was openly ogling everyone’s workspace in search of one. I went up to the counter and asked staff if they knew of any outlets so that I could juice up. The lady came over to my table, located an outlet(they’re well hidden in the baseboards), plugged in my power cable and then TUCKEDMEINTOMYSEAT. Like, pushed in my chair, straightened my table and went about her merry way. Who does that in downtown Toronto? Apparently Timothy’s. They want you to stick around. Armchairs are comfortable, there’s good people watching along Queen Street and there’s a standard array of snacks and drinks available(decent banana bread and as mentioned, the five varieties of hot chocolate are really great). Really, what’s not to like? Free, unlimited wi-fi that keeps on truckin’ even though this location is always full of laptops.

Timothy’s is the forgotten little brother of Canada’s coffee chains. If Starbucks is the douchy I-banker engrossed in his BlackBerry and Tim Horton’s is the hardened bricklayer that drives a pickup then Timothy’s is the effete youngest brother that sends thank you cards and reads French novels. He also makes a mean hot chocolate. I spent a few hours here yesterday watching passers by from my comfy window seat and vegging out on the free Wi-Fi. Unlike Starbucks there’s no two hour limit. It’s usually pretty busy at this location, I had to stake out my dream spot before I landed it. So did the person that inherited it from me. It’s the circle of café life. I like this location. Obligatory Title Pun: TIMOTHY for yourTHELF. Menu Readability: Lots of options here, look behind the counter. Need to mention: For some reason this location attracts ‘tweens. Possibly the only downside. What this place teaches me about myself: I sympathize with the underdog.

A nice, clean location right near Nathan Phillips Square. There’s coffee, sandwiches, smoothies, and more. Plus free wifi!
