Friendly guy behind the bar, great chicken wings and poutine. Not bad for a neighborhood bar!

A great neighbourhood pub. Hard to come by these days with all the franchises taking over. Simple pub menu. Good staff. We come here about once a week. Monday night wings are great. The house chili is also good.

Good for a few beers to start the night. It’s a typical bar. Haven’t tried their food but their draft list is reasonably priced and the service is spot on

I go every Wednesday for karaōke and drinks and I love it, Im not the greatest singer but the crowd is really really supportive, they always clap no matter how you sing. The sound system is really good which believe it or not makes a BIG difference. the food isn’t out of this world or anything but it’s a bar so you kind of expect that.

Thirsty Fox is the only pub in this neighbourhood, and while I can’t say that I got a full picture when I was there last week, I did have a nice, albeit quick, experience. I ran into the bar when it started pouring rain and I took a table by the closed garage door-style window while I waited for my date. As I walked in, the power went out because of the brewing storm. The power was out the whole time we were there which gave me an interesting first experience. The servers were quick to take our drink orders and to joke about the power issues. While I only had a glass of wine, the price was average($ 7) and the house white didn’t taste like the watered down swill so often served as a house white. Seeing the bar in a no-power situation gave me the opportunity to engage with some regulars and to get a feel for the community frequenting the bar. It is a lively bunch in there and definitely reminded me of a TV bar, Cheers-style, where everybody knows your name, but not so much so that an outsider would feel unwelcome. I’ll definitely be back!

Our server was great. Wings were great. There was a real local pub environment that you lack when you go downtown. All in all great experience.

Décor: drab, dingy, dark, Food: short order cook type food with a lot of frozen ingredients Service: staff are friendly and welcoming Beer selection: mediocre. Nothing special, no creativity Overall, this place survives(barely) due to its good location, without competition nearby, but there doesn’t seem to be an ounce of passion in the place. Nothing is special, most is below-par. There is no reason to go here unless location is everything to you and you live nearby. I would give this a 1-star except the staff are friendly and welcoming. I just wish they were equipped with a better menu(food and drink), and décor.

As a local it’s great to have a bar in this area. The food is fine, but then I don’t tend to go to bars for the food.

Exactly what you would expect from a bar along Eglinton between the Allen and Bathurst. This place really has no atmosphere whatsoever, and though I have never tried the food friends have told me it is below average for a pub. That being said, its location cannot be beat, as the next closes bar is a Sholess Joe at Eglinton and Oriole Parkway. Thirsty Fox has a decent selection of beers on tap, and the prices are reasonable. They also have a good number of TVs in the joint. For any locals in the Eglinton area, I believe this spot is worthwhile for a casual beer with friends any night of the week.

I’ve lived in the area my entire life and ever since I could legally drink, I always hoped that somebody would open a bar in the neighbourhood. You see, this part of Toronto is devoid of nightlife. This is a purely residential area and there is nothing that is open past 11PM. That is, until Thirsty Fox opened up. As I have lived here for the past 28 years of my life, I can safely say that this is the first bar in the area in over two decades. While I hope it can stick around for the long haul, I have my doubts. The pub has your typical selection of beers and liquors. The food is a bit below average for a pub but nothing that would shock your senses. The mediocrity continues to the décor. The chairs appear to have been bought from a going out of business sale and the rest of the furnishings aren’t much better. While I enjoy the convenience of this place, it has no atmosphere as it is rarely more than half full and even then, the crowd is far from lively. Occasionally, you will see a few people in here for a big sporting event but even then, it’s no competition for a real sports bar or even a bigger pub downtown. As you can tell from the above description, the place is alright but doesn’t do much to attract the type of person who lives in this area. It has been open for a bit over a year now and while I hope it can remain a staple in this area for many years, I’m not sure it has the right profile for this neighbourhood.
