The Westin Bristol Place Toronto Airport

I really wanted to give this place a good review because some of the staff are amazing BUT there are just too many wrongs here. The breakdown is as follows:
Location! It’s a bit far from downtown Toronto BUT there is a bus stop right outside the hotel which takes you to the subway. A short subway ride takes you to downtown. Totally worth it! There are many areas to shop and eat near the hotel.
Hotel– Although housekeeping did their absolute best with cleaning the hotel, the hotel itself is just worn down. Paint peeling, stains on the walls, vents pulling away from the walls, carpet terribly worn and look very dirty. In our bathroom, the ceiling looked as if it had a bubble above the shower (room 341) full of water. This hotel really could use some upgrades.
Staff– Munir is a very honest employee! My husband mistakenly gave him too much money for a tip but didn’t realize it until later that evening. When he spoke to Munir the next day, he gave my husband the money back!!! We couldn’t believe it. We TRULY appreciate his honesty!
In Zachary’s restaurant, we had a woman from the Ukraine (tall, blonde) who was a wonderful server. Sorry I don’t remember her name! Our orders were right, her suggestions were spot on and she was very helpful in giving us ideas on what time to go downtown to avoids traffic if we decided to drive.
Also, the woman that greeted us at Zachary’s was very friendly and helpful. She was Asian and had dark chin length hair. Both of these ladies are an asset to your establishment.
Parking– $ 20 a day for self parking
Wifi– There is a charge
Pool– Nice pool. Goes up to 7ft.
Fitness– Saw a few treadmills. That’s about it.
With a few upgrades, this Westin has great potential. Will definitely stay again because of the staff and cleanliness.

Well lets start with the man who comes to your car and tells you «parking is 20 and this is a luxury hotel so we can do valet for 6 more»… No thanks
Then I go inside, lady seemed nice enough, however she said parking was 19 and didn’t mention valet. Was the guy outside trying to make money off me?! She also neglected to tell me there was a pool, a shuttle to the airport, we have to pay for breakfast. (I got the information because I asked her) –I would think she would tell me. I am currently in my room and can’t use Wifi, something else she didn’t tell me how to do.
I walked in my room and all the lights were on and the TV!!! I called downstairs and the lady says earlier the room was «a show room». Ewww why?!
Close to the airport, stained carpets, couches. Not exactly luxury, but nice enough for a day or two. For the amount of money we spent we could’ve at least had parking included.
What a way to start my birthday :(

We booked this place during our visit to Toronto. It was on sale, lower price comparing to other similar chains.
After having a terrible experience a day before in Ottawa, this hotel felt like a paradise. Nice and clean rooms. Also rooms were pretty big. Great shower, nice tv and good view was enough to make us pleased.
I definitely will go there again.

Un de mes hôtels favoris au Canada.
Dès l’entrée, tu te sens détendu et à la maison. L’hôtel utilise des bougies qui répandent une odeur du paradis. Une petite musique d’ambiance qui né tape pas du tout sur les nerfs est accompagné du son de l’eau. La réception est toujours très rapide. Du cidre chaud en hiver et de l’eau citronnée sont offerts à l’entrée.
Les chambres sont spacieuses, les lits géants avec des oreillers de marques extrêmement confortables, la douche à double pommettes est fantastique!
Le wifi n’est pas excellent, la connexion varie selon les chambres.
Ce n’est pas bruyant mais lorsque quelqu’un ferme sa porte, souvent ça résonne très fort.
Il est situé très proche de l’aéroport, c’est pratique pour un arrêt rapide en ville.

Good staff, and attentive to your needs. Property is a bit tired, gym is small. Good hotel for stopover due to proximity to the airport. Breakfast and dinner were prepared well and correct to my order.

Nice hotel. Clean. Westin bed. Breakfast buffet very nice. Used Priceline. $ 75 per night bid accepted.

Definitely a 4.5 star experience. The room had a spacious bathroom complete with a waterfall shower head and branded toiletries.
The bed was comfy and the room was tidy and nice. The staff was unable to upgrade my room as an SPG Gold member as all upgrade rooms were booked for the night. Thought the service was not as knowledgeable about SPG Gold perks as I had to ask a handful of times about the gift they give you at check — in, but all in all it was a good experience.

Hotel was just OK… I was greeted well, but when I asked if breakfast was included, the person checking me in at the front desk said «not at your rate»…really!
The walls in the hotel where dated and you could see the creases showing through in the wall paper. Electric outlets where crooked and not screwed in tight in the hallways… I just thought the hotel was old and dated.
Bed was OK, but I asked for a king and was given 2 doubles… I guess it was my rate!
wake up call was a person not a computer, not that this matters much.
Breakfast was good, and the shuttle to the airport was good.
I would look somewhere else to stay… Hilton is right down the street and for my RATE I could spend my companies money in a nice hotel.

My airline just switched to this hotel for layovers in Toronto. We used to stay at the Holiday Inn right next to it. This hotel is much better in terms of quality and LOCATION. I stayed there for one night and got a room on the 14^th floor looking straight out to the airport. The view was spectacular. Being so close to the airport, I was afraid the jets taking off would interrupt my sleep but the largely oversized window dampens the sound pretty well. Not only did I get a great view but the traffic noise from the highway and runway was mostly blocked. I can’t complain!
I’m an aviation nut and if I could sleep on the runway, I would. This hotel comes pretty close to that. The room itself was spacious, larger than most hotel rooms. The furniture was great as well, especially the computer chair. It was one of those high-​end mesh chairs which was sturdy but comfortable. The heavenly bed was comfy. The sheets were soft. The comforter was light but warm enough for 70 degrees. The AC was quiet and effective. Had a really good night’s sleep even though I had to checkout the hotel in the early morning (440am).
The fitness center was larger than most hotels I have stayed at. 5 – 6 treadmills. 2 benches and free weights were available. The heaviest dumbbell weights were @ 50lbs. Think that’s the max weight I’ve seen just like any other hotel with free weights. Mats and towels were readily available. There is a water station with recyclable cups. I brought my own water so not sure how the water tasted.
I ordered a pizza bianca from the bar & grill down at the lobby. $ 14 for a 9″ thin crust pizza. Not too shabby for hotel food. I decided to go with the free pickup option since room service had a steep tray and gratuity charge just like any other hotel.
Wouldn’t mind going back to Toronto just for this hotel and it’s amenities.

There was a bad odor when I stepped into the room. The green room carpet is very very old. Did not have card for tv channels. The tv junction box was broken and appeared bad (rm 814). Next to highway, so noise throughout night. Reception looked nice, but I care more about room. Parking is expensive $ 18 per day. Why would this hotel be categorized as 4 star on expedia?

«Airport hotel… and nothing more». I stayed here for one night, while attending an event in GTA. This is the most mediocre of the Starwood properties I have ever stayed in. The lobby is lovely, but once you take the elevator to head to your room… you will notice the neglect. As soon as I got off the elevator on my floor, the walls looked like they were under construction: walls look like they are soon to become a scene in a horror movie, wallpaper is starting to bubble and carpet looks ancient. As for the room itself, they are small (my room has 2 queen beds), bathroom is cramped, tub looks like it needs a lot of work and carpets need updating. The beds & linens are impeccable though… I would not expect anything less from a Westin, when it comes to their beds. I felt like I slept on a cloud! Anyway, this is a great hotel, if you need easy access to the airport especially traffic is terrible out here!

We booked a king room for two nights with a guaranteed credit card and told them we would arrive after midnight.
We checked in (friendly nice staff) Got to our room… two doubles… called down to the front desk to find out that it was their last room… hmmm, but I had paid for a King bed. Sorry. (friendly staff)… Horrible sleep.
The next morning we were moved to a room with a king bed and things improved.
Bottom line — we didn’t get what we paid for.

Oh Westin, where do I begin! Hotel is in a good location if you are in Toronto for a couple days for a layover or what not. It’s clean, and somewhat trendy in the lobby.
I wasn’t planning on complaining about the parking, because every Westin I have been to charges around 18 – 20 per day for parking. However, upon check in I was NOT told that the parking charge would be automatically charged to my credit card. So my husband and I had been paying to park. I through out the receipts, so once we found out we were not able to get reimbursed. So basically we paid 72 $ for parking. Now that makes me very angry.
Next, we ran out quick to the store and got back and there were NO parking spots available because there was a function going on ??? Thank goodness for the wonderful front desk agent who moved her car so we could park (I didn’t get her name) !!
We ordered room service, I got the kids meal hamburger and fries. When the meal arrived, the burger was raw. My husband ordered a salad, wings, and soup. The bill was 74 $. Like this is now getting ridiculous. If a place is going to charge this amount of money one would assume the good is amazing. Food was not amazing. It was horrible actually.
Lastly, our room was soo hot. We had two fans going and the door open most of our stay. When we called down they send a maintenance man up and he treated us like we were stupid.
All in all I am totally done with Westin hotels forever. I’m sick of all the hidden charges and ridiculous practices that go on here.

The bed and service were the only things up to Westin standards. (I did not sample the food). Interior is in serious need of a facelift, new paint and carpeting at least. Drab, scuffed and torn carpet and peeling, paint interior made me question cleanliness. It felt «yucky» the whole time… not what I would expect of a Westin.

An excellent hotel.
In fact, it is without a doubt the best airport hotel in Toronto. It gives both the Hilton and Four Seasons a run for their money!
The rooms are up to the Wyndham standard, the restaurant and bars would make any hotel proud, but the best part is the friendly and attentive customer service. The guest service representative I dealt with over the phone was nothing short of amazing: She was attentive to my every need, fulfilling every request with grace and flair: The epitome of customer service!

Hotel rooms are ok, standard for Westin.
Had a simple hamburger with fries and a beer in the hotel restaurant; it took me and my friend 30 minutes to get our food :-(The price I paid was probably the highest I have ever paid for similar food: burger $ 14, fries an extra $ 4 (!!!) and one beer $ 11 (!!!) for a total of $ 35 including taxes. Avoid like the plague.

Clean well appointed rooms, friendly staff for a fair price

Summary: good for one-​night layovers at YYZ, excellent staff, good corporate rate compared to other Westins/​Sheratons around town, standard (a little old) Westin rooms, terrible restaurant.
Over a period of about a year, I’ve sampled most room types from regular rooms (low and high floor, with both views) to larger rooms to Westin Workout rooms to the prime minister’s suite. Overall, the rooms here are a little more tired than the ones at any other downtown SPG properties. Some rooms had a good cityscape view that includes the CN tower — got some great photos there. The prime minister’s suite was especially disappointing. It had two floors, a hallway, a baby grand piano that was sorta falling apart, drab décor, really tall ceilings, and a lot of smaller rooms. Great place for a really large party because it’s the largest suite I’ve seen in a hotel to date, but because of how dark and old it felt in there, I didn’t like being there by myself.
The staff a couple of years ago was incredible (only saying «was» because I don’t know if the same ones are still there). Our group got to know them pretty well so the service was the best — when the parking lot ran out of space, they would let us park in the valet or employee parking areas; all of the front desk staff knew us by name; they did everything to ensure our breakfast was ready and packed to go. If you work in Mississauga, or just outside of Toronto, this is a great place to have a long-​term stay.
By the way do not eat at the restaurant downstairs for a full dinner. The food was atrocious. JUST DON’T DO IT. The gnocchi my friend and I had was pretty much inedible. Room service was fine-​ish.

After going to two other hotels in the area who were supposedly were pet friendly, the westin was the only that actually was. They gave us a pet bed and bowls and had no additional fees. They were so friendly

I was here for 1 hour. :) I rented a room just in case I slept, and … I slept one hour.
It was a comfortable one hour that went by far too quickly. I can barely remember the décor… The lobby was okay, and the service was prompt. The bed was comfortable, and the check out easy.
My only complaint centers around the parking. I wasted an extra 16 CAD due to tossing the ticket after they told me that I could use the room key as a swipe card!
If I ever go back, I’ll be sure to pay enough attention to know what the place looked like!
