This café is a very quiet place the beverage that I had was really good I recommend it for studying. If your going there for lunch I would not recommend because there is a little to no food selection.

Nice atmosphere and big coffee shop for the area. Pricing is standard for the specialty coffees. The brewed coffee they have is good flavour. They have a lot of seating in the shop and you option of communal tables or two seaters. All in all nice coffee shop and friendly service.

Soft music; great for quiet chatter; lots of room on a Sunday morning. Perfect lattes, so smooth.

This was a last minute walk in to this café as the place that was bookmarked was closed. First of the place is bigger than one expects as there is plenty of room to sit. Sadly it was a scorcher of a day and despite their best efforts the place was like an oven. I ordered a cappuccino and despite asking for it a ceramic cup I was served in a disposable cup. Ah well Here is the verdict for the cappuccino Espresso: Medium Crema’: OK Milk: Frothed poorly Latte Art: N/A. A poor version of a cappuccino and with a few options nearby which offer a much better version I think I will skip. 2 Stars.

One of the only coffee shops open early on a Sunday in that area. Stopped by and the barista was very friendly. My husband and I liked their coffee a lot. The space seemed like it was a work in progress but it was cute.

Always wanting to support the little guys in the independently driven Parkdale hood. From the reviews I am to understand that the plans for this space is to have rotating pop-ups? I like the concept but the execution I am unsure about. Upon entering this large space, it had this strewn about feel which for parkdale is fine. I found things a bit discombobulated. The barista was not very friendly and the pop-up vintage just seemed like an unmanned mess that occupied the other side of the store. The old ‘Mascot’ name can still be seen in the corner. The americano I had purchased I cannot say was out of this world. It was okay. I will say, I am glad to give it a try. Happy to see that such a large space is being used but I do have a feeling it is going to take much more time to find its feet. For me, I would say it will take a long time before I step back in. I think if customer service was on par with its neighbourhood counterparts I would have considered going back sooner whether for coffee or the pop-up shops.

After quite a few visits I’m glad to see The Tenant has come into their own. Online assets work, prices are clearly displayed, tea is piping hot(and delicious) and the staff are pretty friendly on the right day. There’s only been one or two pop ups here so far so I think half the shop being empty 90% of the time is wasteful when there’s nothing. Unfortunately the WiFi password still isn’t displayed anywhere. I like that they care about the community and let people post business cards or posters by the cream and sugar. Like I said, staff are friendly most of the time. However every single time I’ve been here each staff member has always had a friend or something sitting at the end of the coffee bar and chatting to them the whole time. I’m a business owner in the area so I’d like to get to know the owners or learn about the place but haven’t had much of a chance because even when my coffee is being made they’re frequently chatting away. Seems a bit impersonal and doesn’t create a friendly way to come ask for a refill.

As a Parkdale local, I love the Tenant. I am so happy they have come into the neighborhood. They are located just east of the Parkdale Library which is quite convenient. Pick up a book… and head to the Tenant! Also, the people that work here are super friendly, the music is always good, and I love their prices and good vibes. My go to items are: the Americano $ 2.50 and peanut butter banana muffin $ 2.25 Additionally, I really like that they have powdered cloves as an option to top your drink with. It really enhances the flavour of the coffee. They have wifi and the space is great for doing homework and chilling out.

Nice space, great light, good tables, friendly staff. Standard price for an americano; slightly burnt.

I understand that the plan is to turn half of this space– formerly the Mascot — into a pop up shop. As it stands the place has a transitory vibe, so I guess ‘the Tenant’ is an apt name. I only had an Americano($ 2.50), the quality of which seemed a cut below the quality you get at Capital or Sam James, with a thin/watery crema. Not bad, just a little sub-par compared to other local offerings.
