Description

Specialties

The food side of the space is a gastroteca-which literally translates to a repository for all things gastronomic. Local, artisanal salumi and products compliment a custom bean blend by a locally, environmentally conscious roaster.

The Slow Room’s biggest achievement is pairing great coffee and fantastic sweets and savory menu items in an intimate, cozy ‘room’. The space is tiny and we intend to show clients that the traditional espresso bar doesn’t need Wifi or 30 seats to exist. The closet-sized café has limited counter-side seating by way of stools but coffee and sandwiches are obviously available to go as well.

The menu is vegetarian friendly

To compliment, «porchetta» is served on Saturday-slow roasted for 6 hours leaves you wanting for more!

History

Established in 2010.

From early on in the planning stages the couple was adamant about pairing great coffee with an equally fantastic food.

Inspired by the Slow Food Movement, the couples’ aim is simple: to provide freshly made, locally-sourced food and drink in a warm, cozy space.

Owners Roberto and Sandra, a design consultant and project coordinator respectively, always planned on opening up a small café one day in a family-friendly location.

They jumped at the opportunity to open the doors a little sooner than originally expected when a unique space became available in an old stomping ground neighbourhood.
