When we were in Toronto, Ca. Our step on guide told us that second cup coffee was the only coffeehouse, until SBUX came in and started taking over. I found the coffee place to be inviting and their coffee is good. Bakery items were less cost than Starbucks I’ve tasted SBUX, but when in Toronto, I’m going to try the local business, which is the best experience.

This place gets quite busy! It’s not too spacious, but if you can manage to study with background noise this place is quite ideal. Customer service is great!

Second Cup is usually my usual hangout but sometimes it is good to have a change of scene. This Second Cup is located at the corner of York Mills and Bayview. A mix of patrons on this Sunny weekday afternoon. The crowd is a little more mature and a lot of gossips going on… you kind of force to listen in because the tables are set really close. There are a few electric outlets along the side wall… get those tables if you need to charge up your laptop. A chatty crowd. I just trying to tone them all out. Cheerful staff, even complimented on my choice of brew… Blend 35… in fact it is quite good not as bold as the ones at Starbucks!

Not all stops of a franchise are made the same! I like this Second Cup because of their baked goods. Okay I know how many people hate on those stale biscuits that have been marinating behind the counter for what seems like eternities but I swear this Second Cup’s biscuits aren’t like that! Nor are their muffins or their scones or their croissants! You all know what the drinks taste like if you’ve been to any Second Cup. This was going to be a four-star review, until I recently visited and saw how nicely they’d renovated. They have a little fireplace now, and cushy armchairs around it! Their tables and other chairs look professional, sleek and comfortable at the same time! Gone are the days of haphazard wire chairs strewn around. Bonus: they give me a cinnamon stick in my apple cider. Some other places don’t do this.

I agree with Suzan, this is a good Second Cup location. The reason for this review is I got the Icepresso Chiller(ie. Espresso Slush in layman’s terms because I am a layman) today and I could become addicted! At $ 4.10 plus tax a pop for a medium I won’t be indulging too often HOWEVER they currently are knocking a buck off between 1 and 3 pm and at that price its more palatable.
