The Home Depot

Worst pick up I’ve seen! It took us 40 minutes to get our stuff. My husband had to do everything by himself because there wasn’t enough staff to take care of customers. There was a very long line! Everyone was still waiting for their services!!! We paid online and expected it was ready to pick up at the time we wanted. Home Depot you should hire more people and pay them more! We need better services!!!

This Home Depot succeeds in generally beating Canadian Tire and Rona on price, but not always. Prices here (especially on outdoor plants) are much higher than in the states, but since they can beat Rona, not much else matters.
Service here is largely non-​existent, though you will find that there are about 5 people scattered throughout the store (including stockroom, break room, and washroom) who really know what they are talking about and can help.
Once upon a time, they sold multi-​packs of vegetables, as well as plants in smaller sized groupings. Those days are gone. Now you basically pay 4 – 5 $ for a single pepper or tomato plant. Pretty much the opposite thing for individual bolts, clasps, etc. Soon you will probably have to buy a hammer in a multi-​pack.
This Home Depot does make the nearby Wal Mart look like the botanical gardens. The parking lot is used as extra storage as well as a community debris field. The lack of serious competition or community pride makes these kinds of issues unavoidable.

I came here on a weekday night, and I’m fairly certain I saw over a dozen retiree white men just wandering the aisles looking for something to inspire them to do a DIY home project. I am confident these men hang out here two-​three times a week and all now know each other by name. Their friendships surely started with a nod, and now they regularly talk shop over subs in the Subway inside this location. They get the meatball, but tell their wives they had tuna. Classic hardware store tale.
I’m not handy and my partner is really not handy. We have no business being here, and should always hire people to buy the things they sell here and then come over and install them for us. I find all Home Depots overwhelming and they’re generally bad for my self esteem, but even I can admit that if you are one of the chosen ones and are good at building stuff, this place has what you’re looking for in an easy-​to-​find-​shit layout.

Today was the last day i shop at the home depot. The service is just atrocious. I requested a cutting and the guy called for a lumber associate. I arrived at the station and found a guy who had been waiting for quite some time. He too had requested cutting twice! Numerous employees ignored us.
So i will not be shopping here any longer. Im going to Lowes where the selection and services is infinitely better. Despite it being further its worth the drive. I used to spend over $ 500 a week there. No more.

Dogs are no longer allowed in Home Depots. Sad face.

Home Depot. What can I say, all you need to maintain your home in one BIG box.
It’s got everything you need, plus, everything you wish you would need but have no idea on how to use it.
Now, this store is located next to a RONA and a Canadian Tire, so I highly suggest to visit the other two stores before you buy anything (either at this store or the other stores). I was able to save about $ 10 for buying an air filter just by visiting the stores surrounding it.
It’s convenient, I’ll go if I have to.

I am always reluctant to support this American chain, given its reputation for terrible treatment of employees and totally incompetent handling of special orders.
However, I wanted to note this location does sometimes have items not found in the nearby Canadian Tire and Rona stores, but more importantly it seems to be one of the few — if not the only — home improvement big box store in Toronto which is open till midnight. So if you constantly work late or forget something for a project at the last minute, take note. The other Home Depot’s in Toronto close at 9, BTW.
