What can be said? its pretty awesome… finally a food truck that serves great tasting food in an authentic way, the window girl was stunning and had knowledge of all food items, the food was hot and tasted fresh. One of if not the best food truck currently operating in Toronto.

I had lunch here last week and was very impressed. I ordered two ‘Naacos’(think naan tacos) and they were delicious. The first was butter chicken and the second was beef kebab. They definitely hit the spot and at $ 10, didn’t break the bank. The only downside to ordering from a food truck is the wait, and The Feisty Jack is no exception. Although there were only about 5 people ordering, it took a good 20 minutes for my food to arrive — definitely not the place to grab lunch if you are in a rush. I am a big supporter of food trucks and am delighted to see the city relaxing the rule for these local businesses a bit. The Feisty Jack is a delicious alternative to bland food court lunches, and I look forward to trying their fish and chips next time — it looked delicious!

I got to join in with the crowd for the filming of Food Truck Face Off back in June. Those that signed up to be in the background of the show were able to order any complimentary meal from the food trucks that were participating. Some people were aired for their opinions of the food they got(which I didn’t do). After humming and hawing for a good 15 minutes between the food trucks that were opened, I settled for The Feisty Jack. I waited in line for at least half hour because Simcoe Park was jammed pack with people! I was excited for my food nonetheless. The Bolly’wich was naan bread stuffed with chicken, masala, basmati rice, and other various delicious toppings. I was very content with my pick though I have to warn you, that it is a bit messy. I had to eventually grab a fork to eat the whole thing. I love naan but I rarely get to eat them because for some reason, I don’t go out for Indian food. This is a good alternative and perfect if you love naan like I do.

The fish and chips were great! The batter on that fish was just so crispy! The fish was tender and flaky! I tried the scotch eggs which were ok but kind of dry. I also had a grilled cheese mushroom melt sandwich with tomato. I didn’t like it very much. There was something off with the taste. 5 stars for fish and chips 3 stars for the scotch eggs 1.5 stars for the grilled cheese and mushroom sandwiches I’m giving 4 stars anyways because the fish was really delicious. Let’s just pretend the grilled cheese wasn’t even on the menu.

Alright, so firstly the only thing better than fish & chips, is fish and chips from real life British people! They even have the funny accents! Seriously! I got there just before the closed, they were serving at Canoe Landing Park tonight and am I glad I did. The beer battered fish was done amazingly well. The fish was soft and moist, and the crust was perfectly crispy. What helps is that it wasn’t just drowned in grease and oil, you could actually taste the fish and it had a great flavor to it. The chips, amazing. I’m a huge french fry fan and while I’ll be the first to say its incredibly difficult to mess up french fries(seriously, if you do … go back to eating with plastic utensils, you’re a danger to society), these had just the right amount of salt, again were not bathed in grease and were just the right amount of crunchy! Alright, now I know that’s a lot of cool and awesome all in one shot, but they also serve it in these cool disposable brown bendy things, I think you call them boxes … with newspaper like wrapping. Did I mention they have funny accents? Seriously speaking, great food, loved the personalities — they made some interesting small talk(something about buildings exploded with dynamite?) while I waited. All in all, I’d definitely visit them again and again whenever they’re in the area!
