The Dry Cleaner Jarvis

I was at lablaws and saw their store and I thought this would be very convenient location. Gave them 2 dress shirt and when I went back to pick up they charged me 17.06 !!! I pay 7 for 2 shirt all the time. Even after told her listen this if not fair and you’re loosing a costumer. She was like that’s fine with us. Wtf??? Such a rip off

I was at Loblaws and saw their store thinking it would be convenient to have my jeans patched up close to the grocery store I frequent.
I had three pair of jeans to get patched up. A very simple, quick procedure I’ve had done many times. It takes a hour, at most a couple days, and it’s done.
I went to the store and noticed that there were no prices listed on the walls. I should have known from the start.
The gentleman was friendly and I asked about his services. He said it would be no problem, it would be ready in a week. Although it seemed like a long time, I assumed they were busy with a lot of customers. I saw a few stains on my jeans and figured they were due for nice, deep clean so I opted for a cleaning as well.
I returned a week later to pick up my jeans. They were done, looked pretty good at first glance.
The bill was $ 110.
Whoa, I was in shock. Everywhere else I’ve been to it didn’t cost anymore than $ 10 – 15. It was $ 28 per pair. The cleaning was $ 8.
IT COSTS LESS TO DRY CLEAN THEN TO DO A SIMPLE PATCHING JOB!!!
When I asked why it was so much, he said «that’s the standard price for any alteration.»
I would argue strongly against that as I can think of several places that charge half as much.
Had I known it was going to cost this much, I would have walked away that week.
A simple procedure that took 7 days to get done cost me three times as much as I had ever paid in my life.
PLEASE, ASK HOW MUCH BEFORE THE SERVICE IS DONE. BE WARY PLACES THAT HIDE THEIR PRICES/​RATES!
