I felt compelled to post a review based on my multiple experiences at this establishment. The bartenders have always been outstanding, though there stay is usually short. The beer selection is quite extensive. The owner is completely socially awkward and just miserable. For example, last night my boyfriend and I wanted to have a beverage. We came at 1am and at 1:20, the owner came out and announced it was last call(though the bar was closed at 2am). The bartenders were rushing to take orders. The place had well over 15 paying customers still drinking. Another patron who was playing pool had wanted a glass of water, which the owner refused him. There were no bottles of water for sale and I have no idea why you wouldnt offer a paying customer, a glass of water. These are just some of the examples of this extablishment I do not understand. One would think you would want to do more for your customers! Shocked this place has stayed in business as long as it has.

Well I don’t even know where to start on this review.

I watched a NFL game here last week. I can’t believe it’s only two stars — the staff were perfectly accommodating in setting us up with the game we wanted, beer came fast, food was adequate, and there were games to play(pool, air hockey) during halftime with no line-up. Would(and will) go again.

Outstanding selection of beer on tap and bottle. Good prices(taxes in) and the place was recently renovated. This is a solid 3 stars but I’m giving 4 to offset the poor ratings by people expecting the Hyatt aesthetic at a place called Beer Station. Bottom line: Beers were promised, beers were delivered.

The Beer Station is a bit of a strange place. I came in for a quick round of beers before getting sat at Insomnia for dinner on a Saturday around 8pm. The have a large beer list at decent prices. Some strange characters hang around here and the décor leaves a lot to be desired.

It was alright, nothing crazy about this place. The interior of this place can definitely do some work, it was tiny, crowded and grimy. It’s definitely a great place for students to hang out because of the cheap drinks and there’s also a pool table at the back that’s $ 2 per game.(it only accepts loonies!) I came here with a few friends last night and had a great time. Our waitress/bartender was super friendly and nice. They have so many different beers and drinks, it seemed almost endless! When I was hit with the drink menu, I couldn’t believe how many different kinds there were. Overall, I had a great night with some friends and it’s a place for students so if you’re looking for something fancy, clean and well kept, don’t come to this place but if you’re looking for a cheap, run-down, grimy place to get a few drinks, by all means, come here!

OK. So I read the other reviews, and they weren’t exactly glowing. Here’s why I’m rating it higher than usual: (1) At the time I wrote this review, I was killing some time here before I meet some friends. Yes, it’s a tad noisy. But(touch wood) people are leaving me be. No unwanted attention. (2) They serve Red Stripe here. Not a lot of bars do. Automatic half star. (3) I got my beer within, like, 3 minutes of walking in here. Judging by the number of people here, I’m assuming this is a «normal» night, so that’s impressive(or a case of good timing, which — if you know me — is rare). Beyond that, I’m not sure whether this will a place I will visit often. It’s just not my scene.

This is the greatest of bars. Yeah, it’s dingy, but the staff is super friendly, they’ve got an amazing selection of beers, the prices are reasonable, the food is cheap & delicious(half price before 8!), & the World Tour of Beers is hella fun. They have a jukebox, guys. A JUKEBOX. If you want a reasonably priced sports bar with tasty products & friendly people(but not too friendly, if you know what I mean), give it a chance. Actually, don’t. It’s terrible. Definitely stay away from it & leave the good seats(& the jukebox) for me.

I’m actually incredibly surprised by the other reviews I just read. The Beer Station is a low-price decent pub where you get what you pay for. Anyone unsatisfied with this establishment must have had expectations that make no sense. It’s a small sports bar in the annex, it is not going to have chrome counter tops and gleaming washrooms, go to a hotel bar or a chain if you’re scared of a local establishment. The Beer Station is one of my go-to bars in Toronto when I want to have a low key time with a couple of friends. They have an incredible beer selection(of which whatever I asked I always got). And they always have different specials on for shots and stuff. The staff is always super friendly and down to earth. They will talk with you and make great drink recommendations for whatever you ask! The crowd here is never obnoxious and can range from college students to middle aged blue collar hockey fans. The food is modestly priced and is well worth it. And yeah the bathrooms are a bit dingy, but far cleaner than 90% of Toronto bar washrooms including the expensive clubs downtown(ever been to Wetbar? the smell and mess make me want to puke up my overpriced drinks, and I will be forever scarred by the drunk slobs that have sex in there due to the lack of enforcement on gender separation, Beer Station looks like the Pearly Gates after that experience). All in all, if you want a cheap laid back night with some close friends, The Beer Station is where to go!

Horrific establishment. The worst bar I have ever been to, and trust me, i’ve been to a few. When I sent my burger back a second time for not being cooked properly the owner threatened to call the police on me and stirred up the regular piss-heads at the bar to have a go at me. Just awful. Please don’t go here. I’m actually breaking out in hives just thinking about it.

Beer Station is seriously THEWORST bar ever. I can honestly think of nothing good to say about it; it simply has no redeeming qualities. I have been in here quite a few times over the past few years, usually because I am desperate to see some kind of sporting event and every other pub/bar in the Annex were at capacity.(Today, for example, we were running late to watch the World Cup final and it was the only bar that had seating available). The bar is just awful looking inside. Completely dingy, dirty floor, ugly blue and white colour scheme, old cheap tables and chairs. It definitely caters to the student crowd who cannot afford normal pricing. The beer is cheap and they have a list of over 100 kinds to choose from. In the past, we’ve always had trouble trying to order as they don’t seem to carry half of these brands in stock. They do really incredibly bad pub food(burgers, fries, wings and nachos), which I do not recommend eating. My friends have complained of food poisoning, not to mention it just looks/tastes cheap and nasty. Just when you think it can’t get any worse, it does. The service is inexcusable. They always seem to be extremely short-staffed. Today we waited 45 minutes to get our first round of beers and then were told that the kitchen was closed because they couldn’t keep up. Even standing up at the bar, I’ve sometimes waited 15 mins to order a bevvy. Just stay away from this place, unless you are truly desperate to watch some kind of sporting event — they do have some widescreen tvs and they don’t charge cover.
