I’ve been going to Bandit Coffee for awhile. it was a pretty fair to middling experience. I only really kept going there because it’s so close to my house. Today I went in and realized that I didn’t have any cash on me. The barrista could tell i was in a hurry(like most mornings) and she offered to take my info down so I could pay next time I’m in(which is basically every day lately). I really appreciated her offer. it made my morning and completely changed my perspective on this coffee shop.

You can order a bowl of latte at this place. Great place, although I wish they’d steam their lattes a bit longer to make it warmer. Delicious coffee though, and a bonus of free parking across the café. Cozy and warm environment… love supporting independent local coffee shops! Highly recommend.

I had a Chai Tea latte with a shot at this café. The atmosphere was very comfortable and the service was friendly! It looks like a great spot to relax and use wi-fi.

I tried their flat white which was pretty good. It has good seating area, plugs and internet. Cash only though with an ATM inside.

The barista was unfriendly, seemed bored and really eager to push customers out the door before closing time.

Cash only friends! However I am still not taking away a star. They are inadvertently eliminating the country’s debt problem by doing so, or they just don’t want to lose margin. Atmosphere is exactly what any coffee house should be. Shannon and Bertrand are the two baristas that clearly love their job regardless of how much the owners work them to the bone. Genuine care for your order as well as service with a smile. They serve the Te Aro brand of local roasted coffees, which has actually put my bush plane pilot/smuggler/importer of rare coffees out of work. This is place makes my day every time I walk through the door.

By far the best coffee I have ever had! It’s not in my hood but worth heading off the beaten path for. I love the ambiance. The owner is also an artist so you may see some of his photography on the walls and other cool art.

Just discovered this place and will be going back very soon. It’s a little coffee shop with a punk rock vibe off the beaten path. Just a few steps away from the Beaches you have great independant coffee for those anti-Starbucks java lovers. The coffee is good and they have cinnamon, lemon and vanilla infused sugar. Yummy! I can’t wait to go for music on Monday nights and try more snacks.

Yay, this place opened today. The owners, Kirk and Tracy, were friendly and welcoming and seemed pretty calm for the first day, 90 minutes after opening. I had a cortado which was very good, and ONTHEMENU. I didn’t have to explain it! That’s a good sign. They get their beans from Te Aro, so that adds some credibility. The space is very nice, if not a bit sparse at this point. I believe they are going to use their walls to display local artists. Cool retro lighting and a wooden communal table highlight the digs. I only got a quick look at the pastries, but didn’t have a chance to ask about them. Anyway, it’s only day one… as they settle in a bit, I’ll probably post an update. I anticipate being a regular, as it’s a 10-minute walk from home.
