Tea-​N-​Bannock (Our Story)

On April 1, 2012 we put out the «OPEN» sign, TEA-​N-​BANNOCK Taste of Aboriginal Canada! Ronnie and Tina Ottereyes, Enos Miller, and Tammy Bird were set to cook up and serve Corn Soup, Bannock, Indian Tacos, Blanket Dogs and Trapper’s snack. Our first guest was Simon, a retired city parks worker originally from Weagamow First Nation (Round Lake ON.) Our menu is always on the move, presently serving and catering items like Wild Rice, Elk, Buffalo (Bison), wild caught Ontario Whitefish, Northern Pike and more.

Enos a non-​native who presently owns TnB, had his beginnings with First Nation cooking in the mid 80s at Slate Falls First Nation. Canasia Wesley for one gave him a good grip on the Objibway language while including him in cooking. Others like Claude Loon also took a role in teaching the language. Claude took him on the trap line, dressing out moose, cabin building, smoking meat and more. Enos’s invitation to the community was to partner with the C
