What can I say this Target is probably the best I have been to in the GTA. Friendly staff, helpful cashiers and no line ups to boot. The people that work at this Target seem to generally enjoy their jobs and have what seems to be a happy life! Unlike many large retail chains like Walmart or Toys R Us, the people are are nice to talk to! The staff are always willing to help if the item you are looking for is out of stock or you need some kind of raincheck made. The aisles are usually clean and that might be due to the fact that Target in general does a fairly poor job restocking items. There are virtually no line ups at the cash and when my gf pulls out her infamous coupons the cashiers welcome this and never give any troubles at all. On top of this they are very easy with price matching and sometimes don’t even bother scanning your newspaper or screenshot on your phone like employees at Walmart are trained to do. Also the one time I waited a little while to cash out, the manager came by and asked me what drink I wanted at Starbucks on the house for waiting! That was pretty awesome! Overall this Target is great, the only reason I’m not dropping a 5 star bomb on this review is due to the fact Target in general does a poor job restocking their shelves. I come here after weeks and even months with the same pegs empty of popular products. How long do I have to wait to get that Beyonce perfume in my hands!

I went to buy an AC that went on sale last week just to find out there were only fans in the store. I mean I know it’s mid of July but how come the shelves are so empty. Besides, the prices weren’t as good as expected. It’s 10 am but the place was way too empty. There weren’t enough workers to ask for help even though the place is somehow new. I won’t come back.

Slow service. Employees walking around doing nothing and ignoring me while I wait forever for service. Even though the place is empty. Would hate to be there on a busy day. Prices are not that much of a bargain. Products hit and miss, most are subpar quality. Wouldn’t come here regularly.

I lived in the US for years… and I LOVE Target… I was so happy when I heard they were opening stores in Canada. Even though the prices were higher I enjoyed shopping there ~ BUT… I filled a prescription at their pharmacy and was shocked that they charged me $ 50 plus more then I pay at my normal pharmacy. I asked why… and the pharmacist told me that is the price, it’s always been that price. I told him that I normally pay $ 27 for it ~ and he told me I was wrong ~ like I don’t know what I’ve paid for years now. I asked… Is this a change in the price… or maybe I usually get the generic brand? He again tells me I’m wrong… That there is not a generic brand available. Bull. Not happy ~ Def will tell everyone I know about this… Your pharmacist should be someone you trust ~ not a liar or scam artist. Nasty Pharmacy.

Not near as well priced as the US stores, but the selection is almost the same(Not considering groceries).

I’m not a fan. It’s like a more expensive version of Walmart with no added benefit. I go here a couple times a month and I always wonder why. I rarely purchase anything. The one redeeming quality is that sometimes they have a good sale on a grocery product($ 1.49 for Annie’s shells & cheese). The thing that really annoys me about this place is that the self check outs have been pretty much out of commission for the last few weeks. The second last time there were two of four working and a huge line up. There are no signs posted on the ones not working so you just have to follow the crowd. The most recent time there was only one self check out working and instead of letting customers use it there was an employee ringing everything in on it like a regular register. It was like a 20 minute wait in line. Ridiculous. They seem to generally be under-staffed.

Was so excited when I saw that #TarrrJayy was coming up north. I missed their shopping value from my college days in the States. But the experience did not carry over at all. Minor to major issues with this this #Canadian #Target: No big bags and flimsy PLASTICBAGS CARTS will not even get you to the parking lot! Very LOWONSTOCK and selection(see pics of empty aisles) Speaking of empty– where are the CASHIERS? And most importantly– NOHELP in the aisles, not even in electronics and NOVALUE– Does NOT compare to American targets. Doesn’t even compare to Walmart. It’s more of a Canadian Tire on crack cocaine price bracket. The pluses you ask? Not sure. I always like those cart escalators. If you get off on that, then hey! I RECOMMEND– Um. Nothing much. Even their back to school sale is not priced right. Sorry parents. EXTRATIP– Triple check your receipt. I was triple charged for an item and will have to return for my money.

It’s an okay place to shop. Whenever I go to the US I end up in Target, and I find that their prices are much better than the Canadian counterpart’s. They have a decent range of stuff, such as clothing, toys, groceries, although there aren’t really any brand names. Overall it’s decent, as it’s one of the only useful stores in East York Town Centre anyway.

So the long awaited Target store has finally opened. I’ve been to the one in Buffalo and we had fun shopping there. Here, not quite as much. Prices are good but not as good as in the US. Comparable to Wal-Mart, maybe a bit cheaper. Selection is pretty decent. Lots of brands that you don’t normally see here. Stores are very well organized and super clean. There was a long line at the cashiers but move surprisingly fast. Was exactly as expected.

This review is for the initial impression I went in the opening week for this store if there is a significant change I will update my review. Located in the thorncliffe neighborhood this store is not particularly accessible by TTC from the downtown core(Danforth location would be a better choice if you are coming from downtown). First impression is nice and a somewhat upscale store, there is Starbucks right at the entrance and color scheme and clean look enhances this feel. However the good impression didn’t last long as it is a somewhat«lite» version of the US counterpart. Sure they have the interior nailed down but the variety is lacking to say the least. I am a sucker for kitchen/cookware and can spend hours in this area if it is well stocked but sadly I didn’t see much I couldn’t get by just walking into a neighborhood Winners(gasp) All the departments I saw i.e. clothing, outdoor, housewares are a miniature version of the stores in the south. Gone are the modern and somewhat durable furniture items(well a lot of things are more durable than your Ikea) and I was hard pressed to find a single item that would stand out. I was looking for a bistro set to buy and a couple of things I saw did interest me but upon further inspection they can be had from the largest retailer in the world’s website. Service is decent and I didn’t have to look for help as there was always someone nearby. Tsk Tsk they need to get their act together or they will be written off like just any other store into oblivion.

I heard that Target Canada is not up to par with its US counterpart but for someone who has never been to Target US… i like this place! it was organized, clean, and the staff were friendly. Only one problem is that there was only 1 fitting room which created some chaos. Even the groceries department was solid… canned beans for $.79? that is a great price!
