Yvette is very reliable — highly recommended!

Yvette has walked my dogs Chloe and Oliver for 6 years and I know that they’re always in good hands! My dogs adore Yvette as she is trusted, dependable and loving to them. Yvette has also given great training advice for my then puppy Oliver and as my geriatric dog Chloe has aged has found a walking routine to suit her changing lifestyle. I highly recommend Yvette to take care of your pets!

Our precious Leia loves Yvette. I know that by seeing her so excited when she comes to the door every day. She has been cared for by Yvette for over 6 years now and we also use her services when we go on our many vacations. We get emails and pictures and we always know that Leia has a nice little vacation herself. To have a dog walker you can trust brings a peace of mind to us and especially when we know that there is no one better that will care for our pup better than Yvette.

I needed a cat sitter for the week my husband and I went on vacation and I found Tail Blazers through Unilocal.I decided to use their cat sitting services based on the good reviews posted by other Unilocalers.
Yvette is such a sweet person. Before we went on vacation she came to meet me and my cat and they seemed to get along very well. I could tell that Yvette loves and cares for all animals very much based on the way she responded to my cat. I also knew that she had a cat of her own so there wasn’t much instruction required. I knew that she would take good care of her.
During our vacation Yvette sent us with an e-​mail update on how Ellie was doing. It was very nice and thoughtful of her to do so as it brought us peace of mind while we were away. Ellie was a happy kitty when we came home and I would definitely use Tail Blazer’s services again for future vacations.
Great service. Great business. Very reliable. I would reccomend to anyone that needs a cat sitter.

My dog died last year and I got another rescue dog shortly after. She is a badly abused dog that has needed a lot of attention and love. She is very scared of everything having never been outside (was locked in a basement for 2.5 years). I have tried my best to help her but have hit a wall. I have watched Yvette for years taking care of all the dogs in my building, and I have come to really trust her. All her clients in my building have raved about her and really trust her with not only their dogs, but access to their homes. She is a wonderful person who truly loves all her dogs, and loves what she does. I have watched many dog walkers just take dogs to the local park with no real attention. She actually takes the time to walk the dogs and nurtures the ones that need a little extra help. She is also full of amazing ideas on how to help your dog at home, and sends me photos of my happy dogs from her walks I have now enrolled my beautiful baby with her and she is doing amazing! I think being part of the pack is really going to help her. My dog loves her and loves the group of dogs on her walk. I will write another review in a few weeks to let you know about her progression. I highly recommend Yvette at Tail Blazers.

Yvette is the peace of mind that any loving dog owner needs for their little four legged furballs. I literally tripped over her one day while she was walking a pug and being a pug owner I immediately had to say hello. Upon meeting my little tank Fritz she immediately starting co-​ordinating so that the two of them could have organized play dates. Since then Fritz and Norman have become regular playmates and best buds. Being a pug owner, and all the little issues and problems that go along with that you really need someone who understands the breed and Yvette has become what we now know as the pug queen. My schedule is anything but normal and she is always easy to co-​ordinate with and gets a genuine satisfaction out of «pooping» them out on a good long walk. Definitely the most amazing and knowledgeable dog walker I know. Respectful of the 6 dog limit on walks and a true gem in the KIng West neighbourhood.

I was hesitant to write this review, lest Tail Blazers falls the way of my esthetician — they get so much business they don’t have time for me anymore :(
But really, this is a secret I just can’t keep any longer. Tail Blazers is the BEST dog service I have ever encountered, bar none. The dog park gossip put me onto Yvette at Tail Blazers almost a year ago, and I haven’t looked back since.
Yvette came to our house to meet us, our dog, see our space, and learn about his behaviour, personality and needs. From there, she did a few exercises with him in obedience to see where he would fit in her walk groups.
She has the incredible power to make any dog feel at ease… a special gift since my little guy can definitely be a little skittish. On his first walk she sent me numerous pictures right to my inbox, and left a very detailed explanation on how it went. Phew! Its always hard to trust someone new with your pet, and Yvette is nothing but professional.
I have also seen her in action around the neighbourhood, and it is amazing the control she has over the dogs. Its not a free-​for-​all, and the dogs are all expected to behave when they are with her… which is great for reinforcing behaviour, even when you’re not at home!
If she is going away, she will work with you to place your dog with one of her trusted trainees, or find an alternative solution. And she provides WEEKS of notice in advance.
Also, she is really cool, funny and outgoing. Basically, the total package!

Yvette is the best dog walker, cat sitter, and source of knowledge about all things pet related. She has taken care of my pug Norman since he was a baby. First she came for puppy visits and then one hour walks through the neigbourhood. She only services a small area and she travels on foot, which means you always get prompt, reliable service and you know your dog is actually getting walked instead of driven around town in the back of a car. She happily acommodates special requests, such as altering a walk time so you can make your vet appointment. She will also make sure your dog is dressed appropriately for the weather and manages to wiggle my dog into his boots and coat in the winter.
Yvette has also helped link me with pet resources such as doggy obedience classes, a dog trainer, advice on specific foods and nutrition. Yvette has not only boarded my dog while I have been on vacation but she also takes care of my cats. I know my dog is well loved by the enthusiatic way he greets her and when I go to pick him up after a vacation he never wants to come home!
Yvette is great about keeping in touch and is always only a quick phone call or email away if you have any questions. One of the best features of her service is her expectation that all the dogs on her walk behave. I know that the obedience I have worked on with my dog is reinforced on his daily walks.
After hearing so many horror stories in our of leash park I am thrilled that we have Yvette as our dog walker/​cat sitter. I agree with the previous reviewer that my only concern is that she will become too popular if others find out about her!

I have tried many, many pet-​sitting services in the various places I have lived (BC, Ontario, Georgia, California), and Tail Blazers is head, shoulders, paws, and tails above all the rest.
My cat Tessa is not one to bond easily with people, but Yvette has a very gentle approach that quickly won Tessa’s heart. Tessa now loves Yvette like she’s a member of the family.
Yvette routinely goes well beyond the call of duty in making sure that Tessa is absolutely pampered in my absence, which means I don’t have to worry about a thing when I’m away.
Yvette devotes great attention to details, which means all my little special instructions don’t drive her crazy (or if they do, she’s a very good actress).
My only hesitation in recommending Yvette is that doing so will make her busier, and Tessa would prefer to have Yvette all to herself. But I can’t keep this secret to myself because I love all animals and I don’t know anyone who will make your pet happier.

Tailblazers is an amazing pet sitting/​dog walking company in Toronto! I found Tailblazers via a recommendation from a reputable pet store near Trinity Bellwoods and they did not disappoint. The owner, Yvette de Vertueil, is way cool, super nice, and clearly loves animals. She took excellent care of my foster cat, Abby, while I was recently out of town. She met with Abby and me well before I left to ensure she knew our routine, and kept in touch with me while I was away. Her prices are reasonable and she caters to the downtown T.O. set.
If you need any kind of pet sitting services, definitely give Tail Blazers a call! They rock!
