Suite 811

I don’t usually make a habit of going to Rexdale, but a friend had an event here so I had to make the trip. Even the drive there felt very wrong. It felt like I was headed into the middle of nowhere and sure enough this place was just off the highway and in the middle of those giant suburban box stores.
Visually you can tell that Suite 811 did next-​to-​nothing when changing the décor from the previous owners, which apparently was a Nickels owned by Celine Dion?! When you walk in the place has a diner vibe and the bar is a makeshift set-​up of bottles on a table and convenience store coolers for their limited stock of beer. The bartenders seemed to have no idea what they were doing when making drinks and one of them even gave me a beer without opening the bottle.
I have only been to this place once and I am 99% sure I won’t be going back based on the location. I feel bad giving such a negative review for a place that was clearly just starting up, but at the same time I can see a failed venture in store for Suite 811. Mind you, what do I know about Rexdale nightlife?
