Would’ve been 4 stars had I not had the unfortunate incident of being charged extra for my brazilian. I’ve been to this location 3 times in the past and would say overall that the décor is nice, clean, and the staff are nice. My first two waxings were done with Ann (who is lovely and is really experienced) and my third was with Marla. I’ve never had previous issues until recently when I had booked for a 30 minute Brazilian. Granted, I hadn’t had any maintenance «down below» for a while as I’ve been travelling abroad and so imagine my surprise when I went to pay, that the receptionist tells me that I would be charged as a 1^st Time Brazilian ($ 60.00 rather than $ 49.00). I was told that because I hadn’t maintained it within their time frame of 4 – 6 weeks that I would be charged as a 1^st time Brazilian. This was not indicated to me prior to the appointment nor was it mentioned when I booked online. I also do not recall seeing this mentioned anywhere on their website either.
So just be aware before you book and the time frame that you book as it can dictate how much you end up paying.

I called to book an appointment because booking online wasn’t working for me. The receptionist was great. I told her that I wanted full body, and although they were pretty booked, she said she would check at all of their locations to see if she could work something out. When she called me back she had booked my appointment so that I would have to wait in between part of my sugaring. I super appreciated that she set it up that way instead of just seeing that there were no time slots long enough for a full body sugaring at once and telling me they were fully booked.
I went to the College location. Inside is pretty. In the waiting room I had candy and tea and played with the examples of eyelash extensions they have that you can hold up to your eye.
Sugaring here was not at all what I expected. So so so painful. I cried. I have been waxed before and it is bearable because the strip is quickly ripped off. But here, my esthetician seemed to be twisting the sugar paste back and forth before even ripping it off. The process felt so lengthy because of the time spent pulling back and forth on my skin every time before pulling off the sugar. At some point I asked if there was numbing cream available. I bought the tiny tube so I would be able to handle my Brazilian.
The receptionist at the desk when I was paying was not as great as the one on the phone. I brought up the 20% off first-​timer discount after seeing that she wasn’t going to. She said, «Oh. You’re supposed to show me the email.» It would be more amiable if she asked me if I was a first-​time customer and mentioned the discount. Instead I felt annoying for bringing it up. But whatever. It’s more expensive than waxing, and if I had a good experience I would be fine with that, but my appointment was awful.
Of course, Sugarmoon has multiple locations with multiple estheticians. Judging by how many positive reviews they have, there must be other employees who can provide a better experience. I don’t want to call out the one I had, but if anyone wants to know, just message me privately.
My recommendation is to save a little bit of money and have a guaranteed good experience by going to Sweet Mango. Amanda’s method is quicker, as she did not do the whole pull-​back-​and-​forth thing. She also said that she pulls in the direction of hair growth, and I believe my Sugarmoon esthetician did the opposite.

This salon has great attentive service. I felt well cared for and love to have an appointment whenever I am in Toronto

I’ve been avoiding going to get my eyebrows done for A YEAR because I am so particular and couldn’t find a single place in Toronto that I could trust with my most prized possessions (and trust me I tried many many places before I threw in the towel). After reading so many reviews I decided to give Sugarmoon a try.
Now I have to shout from the rooftops how AMAZING my experience was. I just got home from my first appointment and I have never been SO satisfied with an eyebrow salon.
Cailey tinted and sugared my eyebrows and they look FIERCE AF. I am so happy with how they turned out and also with how nice and warm Cailey was. It was fun, easy, comfortable and the results are unreal. When I saw the finished product for the first time I was literally speechless. Now I can’t stop posting my dope brows on instagram. I am literally in love with this place and what they did to my brows.

I’ve had the delight of being a loyal customer to Sugarmoon for almost 5 years now and I would highly recommend to anyone. The staff are very friendly and knowledge. They instantly make you feel comfortable and at ease. The products they use and also sell in their salons are superior. Sugaring is the way to go, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else for it other than Sugarmoon!

Never did I think I would write about an ‘enjoyable’ hair removal visit on Unilocal,but my Sugarmoon visit warrants a review.
I’ve had a few horrific waxing experiences in the past — my skin is really sensitive, and never reacted well to it — and shaving is awful. A friend suggested I try out sugaring instead of the traditional hard wax, so I did some research on some places in the city, and Sugarmoon came out at the top of the pack. I booked an appointment, and hoped for the best.
When I arrived, I was told that the gal I had originally booked the appointment with, was not in today, but that the owner, Paola, would be doing my Brazilian.
Paola was amazing, and made me welcome from the moment I stepped into her room. She gave me the 411 on what would be going on, and we started the process. We made easy conversation throughout the appointment, and it wasn’t nearly as painful as waxing. Before I knew it, the appointment was over & I was on my way after a few free samples courtesy of Paola and a really cute Valentine’s day gift of Swarovski Crystal ‘vajazzles’. Not sure I’ll ever actually wear them, but it is really cute.
I would recommend Sugarmoon to anyone. I am a convert & will be back on a regular basis. Thank you Paola and staff for a great first experience!

I’m so happy I want to cry! :) Long story short, I found myself irritated/​allergic to even the most gentle of hard waxes so I tried sugar moon as a last attempt before having to go with lazer hair removal. Amy was fantastic, the process was not overly painful for a Brazilian, and there was absolutely NO pain, irritation or swelling a couple hours later. It’s the next day and I’m soft, smooth with not a single hint of irritation, which for me is huge. I’ve already booked my next appointment. The price is steep but so so worth it, trust me!

This is the first place I went to to get a Brazilian over 12 years ago (at coxwell) and I am never disappointed with them! I find they book quickly, so I had switched to waxing when it was necessary, but sugaring for Brazilians is phenomenal. It’s less painful, and I find my skin gets less irritated. If you’re worried about getting a Brazilian done, or any type of waxing, try Sugarmoon — that’s where I started off… and would gladly take sugaring over waxing any day :). And most importantly, the salons are very clean. Prices have gone up a bit over the years, but I will pay the extra to have a clean salon giving me an exceptional service that isn’t always pleasant to get.

Came here to see what the hype of sugaring was all about, and sugar moon lived up to the expectation. If sugaring wasn’t so much more expensive and time consuming than waxing, I would switch entirely. Instead, I get my Brazilian and full face with threading from Amy at sugarmoon. She’s very friendly and makes you feel comfortable and is good at her job. My eyebrows have never looked neater!

I had Monica do my Brazilian and she’s amazing! She took time to explain everything since it was only my second time going to Brazil and my first sugaring experience! We chatted throughout the entire thing which helped to keep my mind off of the minor pain of getting hair yanked out of your body in a sensitive area. She explained aftercare and maintenance with me very carefully and recommended products which is always helpful. I’ll definitely be back to see her!

I’ve never done bikini wax/​sugar before and Sugarmoon was a great experience! I felt very welcome and the girl who helped me was very informative with her suggestions and helped me feel comfortable. Would definitely return :)

First time sugaring experience was a success. Sugaring def hurts less than waxing and is cleaner overall — no messy wax left behind! It’s a bit expensive but I think I’ll be back is the results last for as log as they should. Spa is very clean and staff are friendly and knowledgable.

I went here a couple of weeks ago to get sugared before my vacation. This was my first Brazilian and I chose to sugar opposed to waxing because I heard it would hurt less. Of course it hurt like hell but that was expected since it was hair removal in a sensitive place. However I liked that I did not have to deal with hot unsanitary messy wax. My service was done with Amy who was friendly and made me feel very comfortable for my first time.
My only problem was the price which came up to about 50 $ but then again you get what you pay for. The service was great.
I definitely recommend this place, you wont be disappointed!

Sugarmoon is a great place for all types of sugaring. The staff is always friendly and the online booking and confirmations make life a lot easier. Even when I’ve been in a pinch for timing, they always find time to squeeze me in and it is definitely the #1 place for sugaring in Toronto!

I do like this place. You walk in, you’re greeted by the friendly staff at the front desk. If you’re early you can go to the waiting area, read magazines, sip some delicious tea. I was early by 5 minutes but I was called into the private room right on time. No delays here. The process was fast and friendly. It was a lot less painful than waxing I have to agree. Sugaring doesn’t pick up as much hair or smaller finer hair than waxing does but the process is so much more bearable. You walk out with a chocolate bar after. What’s not to like?

Receptionist came in to assist the woman working on me as there were no other appointments at the time. She left me with half a complete arm and hand.
When I came out of my appointment the office had been taken apart as they were right in the midst of moving. Wish they’d forewarned me. Killed the fresh relaxed vibe I had. Despite the woman’s assurance my face broke out severely for 4wks. I had a hideous beard of acne. Otherwise it was alright. I prefer it to waxing but would like to try a different set of staff.

Four stars and not 5 because of their prices!
Service is extremely friendly and professional like everyone says but I’m just so shocked at the arm and leg pricing!
My 1^st Brazilian was $ 67…a bit of a shock but fine. I came back less than 4 weeks later with very little sporadic growth and was hoping it would be significantly cheaper for the touch up.
Booked myself for a 20min Brazilian and the person I was with even commented on how little there was to do! I was in and out including changing and paying within the 20min window… And it was $ 54!
Whattttttttt.
I still love the service, people and products they use though.

I’ve never done sugaring before, but figured it was worth a shot after reading Sugarmoon’s great reviews. Folks, this place is the real deal. Consider this my goodbye to waxing!
Sugaring is all natural (the mixture they use is literally just sugar, water and coconut oil), and the estheticians pull in the direction of your hair’s natural growth. Which means? No strips, less pain, less ingrown hairs, and an all-​around more thorough hair removal experience. I’ve had what I thought to be great waxes in the past, but still wound up with skin irritation, ingrown hairs and hair that grew back after just a few weeks. Not with Sugarmoon! I can already tell a difference this go around in the overall happiness of my skin.
My esthetician, Ann, was terrific. She was patient, thorough and answered all of my (many) questions. She was able to suggest a few products for after care and maintenance based on my concerns, all of which have been extremely helpful so far. Thanks Unilocal,for helping me find this gem!

Not that Sugarmoon needs any more glowing reviews, but this was by far the best hair removal experience I’ve ever had. Sugaring really is less painful and more thorough than waxing, and with no gross sticky bits of wax left behind.
I booked an appointment with Amy and she did a fantastic job. She was also really knowledgable and answered all of my questions. Bonus: the salon is located in an adorable old-​timey building.
Seriously, if you’re gonna pay to get hair ripped off your body, this is probably the best place to do it.
