Bought a coupon from a group buying site back in mid-​March 2011. Called almost immediately to make an appointment and spoke with senior stylist Catherine who sounded very rushed and snappy. I was told that the next available time would be in April (around Easter weekend) at least 4 weeks away.
I accepted the appointment but realized a week later that I would have to change it because we made plans to go away for the Easter weekend. Tried several times to contact the salon leaving messages but no one called me back.
After our Easter trip, I have tried to contact the salon again to set up another appointment. No one answered the phone and messages were not returned. Attempted to contact the salon in June/​July as well but only reached the answering machine.
I called on Sept. 2 and the phone number is now disconnected so not sure if the business is closed.
I’ll be contacting the group buying site to see about a refund/​credit and now I’m leery about buying these coupons as it seems that an increasing number of businesses are jumping on the group buying bandwagon and when they get a great response from customers, they are overwhelmed and can’t fulfill the service or product, which could have been the case here.

I went this morning, on one of those Teambuy coupon cut, wash, style deals.
wouldn’t have known about the place otherwise.
i was nervous about going after reading some neg reviews elsewhere. wish i saw Unilocal’s comments, first. (
). I had a senior stylist, Catherine — who was pleasant, professional, and I was happy with the results.
scalp massage (during the shampoo) that other Unilocalers are referring to, too, was def. appreciated.
products seem good as well/​of quality.
nice girly-​girl décor. n of Queen, east of Bathurst. easy to find, right beside Muraille Theatre.
i’m into low maintenance cuts (and also I’m trying to grow my hair), so i don’t know if i’d fork over $ 60 anywhere for a cut. (more than once, anyway). but for that voucher price, i’m feeling pretty pretty happy right now.

I went here for a wash, cut, style + manicure and hand massage as part of one of those group deal things. I was greeted promptly by my stylist (I think his name is Anton? I’m horrible with names, so let’s just call him Anton for now), who seated me in the chair and asked me what I wanted. My cut was pretty simple: 2 inches off all around to get rid of dry split ends and keep the layers longer.
The wash was great! The water temperature was perfect and it came with a delectable scalp massage. The cut was fine as well; Anton knew exactly what he was doing and I had total confidence in him. When he was done he asked if I was happy with the length and showed me the back as well. We chatted a little bit but I’m naturally pretty quiet so there was a lot of comfortable silences. After the cut, he asked me how I wanted to style my hair — straight or «big. bouncy volume with curls». I clearly opted for the latter.
Anton used a round brush to blow dry my hair and give it volume. You have to understand I have A LOT of hair… it took him about 20 minutes to do my whole head. I have been to other salons where they just stick me under the hair drying dome so the personal touch was nice. Then he proceeded to use a curling iron on my hair — another 20 minutes! I stood up with big, Hollywood glamorous curls. Nice!
The manicurist (also forgot her name…) was polite and courteous. She did a great job on my nails and answered any questions I had. They use Cake lotion for the massage and it smells heavenly. No complaints about the manicure — it was as expected.
I like the décor and how easy it is to get to the salon. If you’re familiar with Queen St W you’ll know the sort of décor I’m talking about: damask wallpaper, crystal chandeliers, lots of white and pink and black furniture and accents.

I checked this place out with one of those group buying deals. I couldn’t find reviews but all I needed was a trim so I decided to check it out.
The salon is sort of off the beaten path and not on a main business strip. At least you can find street parking near by for free! The salon looks great. It is ina basement but it is very open and bright and feels very comfortable. The open space makes it unique. You can almost do cartwheels in the middle of floor. My hair dresser was really cool. She was funky, hip and young. She did a great job. I have a simple looking bob but my hair is difficult to cut because it is very fine and very straight.
The other lady working there was very sweet too. I would recommend giving this place a chance.
