I have been going to silvertips since they opened 3 years ago. I have nothing but great reviews for this salon. I get a mani/pedi/wax every two weeks and am always satisfied. The place is well kept, clean, and the girls are all friendly! Great prices, location, and service! Reading the other negative review is quite upsetting! I have super sensitive skin and have never experienced a «bad wax». «Stay away?» I always refer my co-workers, friends and family here, and have heard nothing but great results every single time! I highly recommend silvertips! Enjoy!

I really loved this place. I ventured here out of my neighbourhood just based on Unilocal reviews and wasn’t disappointed. I’m a person who values good price, quality but also speed and efficiency, so this place certainly hit all the marks for me. I had a shellac manicure for $ 30(which included removing my old shellac). What I liked is that the lady did a really really GOOD job but she was also speedy. Normally when I get a really good mani it takes the person a lot of SLOW meticulous work, or you get someone rushing through and get a crap job. Not this place — they were quick to get the job done but did it in a highly skilled, efficient way. Also the place is really clean and tidy and fairly modern looking. Good layout with 5 – 6 spa pedicure chairs at the front and 4 manicure stations set up at the upper back level.

Went here for the first time. The place is nothing fancy but the staff were very friendly. I was way early for my appointment but they tended to me as soon as I could. I showed them a picture of what I wanted for my shellac manicure and Helen(the tech) I had replicated it to a T. I am very happy with the work that they did. While getting my nails done a lady beside me was having hers done and said her last shellac manicure lasted 6 weeks! If that is the case with mine then I will be the most loyal customer ever! *Update…I am disappointed to say that my manicure did not even last a week. I had a my nails painted pink with the French manicure part done in black and within the week of getting it done they started to chip :(“

I checked out Silvertips for the first time last week based on all the good Unilocal reviews. I’ve probably walked by this place 100 times and never noticed it until I decided to step inside. It’s not flashy or fancy. It’s very unassuming, but I was impressed with the quality of the work I had done. I decided to treat myself to a pedicure. I got there shortly after it opened at 10:00 on a Saturday and three of the five pedicure chairs were already occupied! I can only imagine how busy it gets later on in the day. If you’re a walk-in, I definitely recommend getting there early. I began by choosing my polish from a decent sized collection and I was seated almost immediately in a cozy massage chair. I didn’t catch the name of the lady who did my nails, but she was very thorough. My cuticles were tidied, my dry skin was scrubbed away, and my piggies were perfectly polished. It’s almost been a week and they still look brand new. No chipping whatsoever. I think before tip my pedicure came to $ 28, which I felt was more than reasonable for a really detailed job of my feet. Provided I can curb my terrible nail-picking habit, I will definitely be visiting Silvertips again in the future!

This is the best of many nail places in Riverdale. Very friendly staff, lots of parking at nearby Loblaws. I took my elderly mom there a few times and they were marvellous. Very gentle and thoughtful. I will walk by places closer to my home to go to this one. It’s outstanding.

I love this place! The women are friendly and they have a large TV for you to watch at your leisure. I have my eyebrows waxed there and they always do a fantastic job and take the time to carefully pluck out the stray hairs after waxing. There is a nice selection of polishes for mani/pedi; the foot bath and massage are wonderful. They always do a great job and my nails always look fantastic. A pedicure lasts approximately 2 – 3 weeks. The only downside is they do get extremely busy on weekends(I can see why!) and you may have to wait a while.

I went for my first ever Brazilian Wax! The staff were kind about it and didn’t cause me to feel awkward at all. A private waxing room was in the back. The one staff member(too bad I don’t know her name) answered all my questions and she really helped me get through the service by talking to me and encouraging me to breath and press on. I had a good experience with her service and the salon itself is very nice.

I really like this place. The girls are friendly and I like watching the big screen tv while I get my pedicure. The price is on par with all salons($ 35 for mani/pedi). They will do my nails at the same time as my pedi to save me time which I appreciate. I did go to an awful place near my work, «Time for Nails» where the women are nasty and all seem to be commiserating among themselves. The owner is literally a dragon-lady. This is my small treat to myself for payday. I always get a good mani/pedi and friendly treatment at Silvertips.

Horrible place! Went when they opened up and the first few times was satisfied. The fourth time, I got a horrible pedicure and infections on 3 toes. Stopped going and went to Urban Nails where I was very happy. Recently due to time constraints, went back to try them one more time. Big mistake. My new Iphone 4($ 800 value) was taken out of my purse and the lip wax I got from Kim gave me a terrible burn scar. I will never go back. Stay away!

All the women are very nice and take their jobs so seriously(they inspire me on that front!!). They are very professional and remember my name every time I go in(even though I can’t remember theirs!) I go in for pedicures and eyebrow waxing. I always have nail art on my big toe, and you wouldn’t believe how accommodating they are with my requests! This week they did snow men(in a snow storm) and in the past have done dolphins, balloons, flowers, event-related logos and more! They rock the creativity! GO!!!

1st experience there was as a walk-in to get my eyebrows done. Such a nice job done on them, and pleasant lady, that I went back to get a mani/pedi and was not disappointed. Quick and attentive to detail. What struck me most was that I was the last person there close to closing time. Clearly there was no one coming in after me and other staff were cleaning up and closing up shop. But they never rushed me and would not let me leave(so they could go home) until the finish on my nails was perfect. They checked on me three times before giving me the ok to go!

After my bad experience with Urban Nails, I decided to give Silvertips a try and am I ever glad I did. Went for a pedicure and half leg wax. The leg wax was surprisingly less painful than I’m used to, apparently because it is a special formula for sensitive skin. My technician was Nancy and she was very meticulous, plucking out any hairs she missed with tweezers. It was a refreshing change to have a leg wax and not have patches of sticky wax still on my legs. She then gave me a great pedicure and unlike Urban Nails, she actually spoke to me and didn’t spend the whole time talking to her co-workers. All in all a very pleasant experience and now more than ever, I would recommend them over Urban Nails. She was thorough, friendly and I never felt rushed or that assembly line feeling I got at Urban.

the ladies here are really nice, and do a very good waxing job. never had my nails done here, but would try one day. The only downside is limited staff, maybe only 3 –4 ppl and on weekends they get very busy.
