Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel

Impressive service, comfortable guest rooms, nice fitness center. Nothing unique, but nice location. Good room service breakfast. Great for business travel. I prefer more boutique style for personal, but this hotel fit all of my business needs.

In 2016 and having to pay for Wi-​Fi seems unreal and pathetic. They need to review the policy. I am a Starwood member and they made me pay $ 20.00 a day for WI=FI.

Loved this hotel. Great location and amenities. The staff was very pleasant and rooms were clean.
The lobby restaurant is surprisingly yummy!
Prices are pretty reasonable.
Complex is quite large.
The only complaint was the walls seemed incredibly thin, as I could hear everyone and everything…

It doesn’t get much better than giving hotel 5 stars and this one earned it. From the time I pulled up until leaving, it was great. Upon check in, I was given a room early which I know isn’t always easy if everyone shows up at 12 pm. As an SPG club member, I was allowed access to the club floor with gorgeous views of Toronto and a fabulous breakfast. The workout facility/​pool are AMAZING. It was cold out but i swam in the heated indoor/​outdoor pool while using their lap lane. I also had a nice lunch salad at the restaurant, it was about $ 25 but this is par for the course at any hotels in the area. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very nice, I would certainly stay again!

The hotel staff are rude, they missed room service despite a call of inquiry. There is also no tub.

Stayed here last year for Caribana. Hotel was in a good location, a lot of attractions were within walking distance. Any Caribana events we wanted to go to, taxi cabs or Über drivers were easy to get even though it was super busy for all of what was going on. The rooms were nice, didn’t need much out of them but to store clothes, shower & sleep lol. We were on the go most of the weekend, so no complaints of the room. You have to pay to have WiFi in your room… BUT, the the WiFi in the lobby was free so it was even a better reason to hit up the lobby & mingle with folks while getting on the WiFi. The pool & hot tub areas were good as well. Would definitely stay at this hotel again!

My sister and two cousins decided at last minute to stay the night so we can explore Toronto since we drove in at 7pm and couldn’t see CN Tower due to visibility and other landmarks on time. While they went to get some liquor and snacks I went into Expedia and book the night in less than 5 minutes for a room with 2 queen beds, 159 CAD, including tax.
Good
~roomy room with two clean queen beds — white sheets and 4 feather pillows for each bed; very nice, clean and great view of CNTowers, 40^th floor. It was an upgrade from Joyce because next morning was my birthday (the attendant– holla Joyce! Thank you for the upgrade). And Joyce came over from desk to give me a hug. So welcoming.
~ tooth brush and paste were provided for all 4 people at no extra cost.

~ towels could have used a little scent to it. It smell like it was washed without soap.
~ wifi isn’t free (14.95 for 6mb) and higher price plan.

Great hotel, amazing rooms and amazing location. The state of the art gym is incredible and is open ²⁵⁄₇. HOWEVER, this all changed from a 5 to a 4 when we checked out. The man who works in Luggage Storage is EXTREMELY rude and cranky. He ruined the experience for me. He did not greet us, handed us a piece of paper, and when I told him I had vinyl records in my plastic bag that I handed him to hold, he rolled his eyes and told me went back to get them. He said that its a luggage room, and not a vinyl record room. I am not one to leave reviews or be picky about bad service, but this was really bad. Not impressed, but other than that — an incredible hotel.

To be frank, I’d be giving this place ⁵⁄₅ stars if it wasn’t for the internet charge. I just can’t agree with hotels charging for internet in 2016 :)
I had spent the night in a different downtown hotel, which was priced higher, and this hotel easily beat it for a variety of reasons.
First and foremost, the location is quite superb. You are in striking distance down to Queen St, which means an easy walk for some tasty eats. Want to see the Pan-​Am Toronto sign? It’s across the street. Yes, parking is $ 45 but you can mitigate that by parking in the Green P Municipal City Hall lot. We managed to leave in time for the morning fee (6pm-​7am) and paid $ 6! That’s unheard of!
I arrived having booked a room with 2 doubles, and the front desk attendant kindly moved me to a Queen room once I informed her that I was traveling with my partner. She also made sure the room faced Nathan Phillips Square for a nice view off of the 10^th floor. I inquired about the internet option for SPG rewards members; she advised that its usually reserved for actual bookings via SPG’s website. Erm, no thanks. Luckily for me, she kindly placed a note on my file to avoid the charge.
I’d absolutely recommend this hotel for visitors. It’s right by TTC subway and streetcars… plus its priced competitively.

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. It’s in such a central location that we walked everywhere!!! We paid a little extra for a higher room and access to their club room — which had a complimentary breakfast and early dinner appetizers. Toronto is our new favorite city!

Came to check in at 3PM and the room wasn’t ready. No big deal, hiccups happen. Well, our room still wasn’t ready 3 HOURS LATER. Yes, 3 HOURS. At 3:30, I asked about the progress of the room and they said it’d be a 30min wait. After waiting, and waiting, and you guessed it, MORE waiting (at the 2 hour mark now) they gave us a $ 50 credit as compensation to use at the hotel restaurant while we waited for them to «finish cleaning» our room. The condition was, we had to use the credit right at that moment and couldnt save it for later. It was 5pm. This was a problem because I was staying at Sheraton for a conference that cost me $ 230 and we had dinner (A BUFFET) scheduled at 6pm. So I was forced to use a voucher which made me lose my appetite for something I actually paid for. Thanks Sheraton. It’s funny because all the concierges fed me the same lines of bs of how «there’s a lot of people checking in» and how they «understand how frustrated we are» (oh really?) and that we have to be patient (I was being very patient giving them 7 hours in total to clean one room. Since check out time is 11am).
The room was average. Had a nice view. No fridge to store my leftovers from the meal I didn’t want to eat. The room wasn’t anything special, especially not special enough to take 7hours to clean. It was just OUR room too. All the other rooms on that floor were ready immediately for my other teammates. So yeah, what the heck?
Don’t stay here. You’re better off at The Hilton.

Complete power failure today at 10am and is still on now, 7 hours later. They tell people over the intercom to stay in their rooms. But there’s no power. No elevators. No tv. No running water (think — sink, shower, toilet)!! I heard folks with disabilities were told to stay in their rooms but they couldn’t bring any food or water to them. Folks had to walk down and UP 30 flights of stairs (some in the dark) to bring supplies back to the rooms.
Some of the staff tell me this happens every year (and some told me they’ve never experienced it before). FYI — the staff were always very courteous — it’s the bad management /​planning for these situations that I’m very disappointed with the most.
I’m not coming back and I recommend the same to others.

Very fancy looking hotel… what do you expect when located downtown. Myself and a friend hung out around the lobby area because we’re were waiting for the cavalcade of lights to start. Only negative thing is that anyone can walk off the street to sit around the hotel grounds as it open to anyone (like we did lol). Great location if anyone wants to be close to Nathan Phillips Square!!!

The positives: centrally located, decent food at expensive hotel prices, nice views from the top, cute pool and waterfall garden, decent room… and that’s where it ends.
Not a business-​friendly place to stay. If you are traveling for business — this is NOT your hotel. The Internet is spotty at best and limited to three connections (annoying). Tried to get some help from Jimmy the Concierge — and that just led to a run around. I get it, the Internet isn’t your forte — so call the propeller heads that run your system. Pretty simple.
Then there are the small things that really get on your nerves because the hotel is just old — like the escalator that doesn’t work, the prolonged wait for one of the six elevators to get to your floor (I could swear only two were working since I’ve been getting into the same two elevators since I’ve been here), the rotting wood around the water gardens — all these things are easy to fix if someone would just set up the maintenance program. Hence the three star rating. It could be a four star rating — but since I travel for a living — if the amenities aren’t working — and you are charging a premium for those services — you get a low rating. No sense in paying a premium price when things are just OK. You expect the 4 to 5 star experience. I would be hard pressed to come back — it’s more of a vacation hotel rather than a business traveler hotel.

Centrally located hotel in downtown Toronto, just in front of the new City Hall and steps away from Osgoode station. Cheaper than most waterfront locations, don’t be fooled by the apparent farness from the CN Tower and other major tourist attractions: Entertainment District’s where it’s at. Clubs, restaurants and shops, there is everything a twentysomething could ever need in the hotel’s vicinity on Queen and King Sts.
Service is courteous and polite, while the decoration fulfills expectations for a hotel in this price bracket. One of the noticeable features of this hotel is its interior garden, complete with an outdoor pool (for warmer days!). Food served at the restaurant downstairs is satisfying, but a little pricey: for cheaper and more local eats, head either to Chinatown, Baldwin Village of Kensington Market, all within a 20 min walk.
Be sure to book in advance, hotel is often used for conferences and events.

Friendly staff and clean room. Located within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Hear for Caribana and would definitely stay at this hotel again if I ever return to Toronto.

I highly recommend staying at the Sheraton and will definitely stay again when I am back in Toronto. The reason being — the staff! Every single person was amazingly friendly and helpful. Not just average politeness, but above and beyond kindness and hospitality. I was in town with my 1 year old son to attend a funeral, so the kindness of the staff was so special to me during the hard weekend.
Specific shout outs to Ronnie who checked me into the hotel. Now when I made my reservation over the phone (don’t remember who I spoke to) I was told I could only have certain rooms (higher price point) since I needed to have a hotel crib wheeled in. I was not trilled about that but it was a last minute trip so I got on board. When I explained that to Ronnie and that I thought it was odd… He helped me out right away in changing the room to being in my price point. They can wheel a crib into any room in the hotel. Ronnie really did a whole lot to help me that trip — and him and the other staff at check in were so friendly to my baby son.
Another shout out to Godfrey and I wish I remembered the name of the woman who works in the lobby near Godfrey — they were both amazing.
The valet parking is 45ish dollars so not the cheapest option around but since I was traveling alone with a baby It was very convenient. They also fetched my sons stroller from the car when I needed it.
The room itself was great. The bathroom feels a bit musty since there’s no fan but there was plenty of space… A great view of the city… The bed is very comfortable. Temperature was comfortable. I enjoyed my room. The crib they wheeled in was nice and my son slept well. The black out curtains worked well. It was also very quiet — I never heArd anyone in the hallway except maybe the occasional door close. The pool is indoor/​outdoor and nice. Check out was convenient. The Internet did cut out a couple times on me but was speedy when it was working.
Around 3am an alarm started going off in our room and a voice came on a speaker in our room informing us of what was happening. Of course it was annoying to be woken up. Drunk people came back to the hotel and caused problems by spraying a fire extinguisher in the elevator. But I thought the alarm and speaker in the room was a nice touch because we didn’t have to evacuate the hotel into the cold since they could address the situation over the intercom. I’ve stayed at hotels where you have to evacuate everytime.
There is a great coffee shop in the PATH just below the Sheraton as well (m square.)
Overall a quality choice. If the staff wasn’t amazing here I would’ve thought «meh just another hotel» but they really make your stay great and that can make all the difference.

My stay for the week is actually 2.5 –3.0 stars but the management team handled my ordeal very professionally and were truly sorry for some of things I experienced. I am sure what I went through isn’t normal for the masses that stay here. I just stayed the wrong week apparently.
The hotel itself is in a great location and very well maintained and professionally staffed. However during my 4 nights at this hotel I didn’t sleep much. It seems some nights there was construction or banging going on and other nights hotel guests were fighting in the hallway. The night of the argument in the hallway the hotel responded fairly quick. I didn’t call or complain I was tired. It seemed the arguing last a few minutes in the hallway before I heard the intervention.
My biggest complaint — my thermostat didn’t work properly. The bed was ok but I don’t blame them directly. Out of all the hotels I have stayed in while visiting Toronto I have only found one hotel bed that doesn’t hurt my back. The room itself was nice and roomy.
I am not sure I would stay here again only because of the bed/​back issues. This is closer to my office but I may have to default to the place further away for a better night sleep.

Les chambres sont standard et ok mais les aires communes, les restos, les salles de réunion, le service… très ordinaires et les repas de groupe sont inacceptables. Si j’avais à organiser une réunion d’importance je regarderais ailleurs.
