Neurorehabilitation psychology and vocational rehabilitation, diagnosis, treatment and management of physical, psychological, and pain-​related disorders arising from physical or psychological truama, developmental learning disorders and learning disabilities, and adjustment problems following trauma. Specialized services also provided to Insurers, corporate benefit programs, hospitals, rehabilitation agencies, and law firms.

History

Established in 1972.

The Read Clinic has provided neurorehabilitation, rehabilitation psychology, neuropsychology, occupational therapy, chiropractic and kinesiology services to disabled persons since 1972. Services are offered across Ontario and in several regional locations about the Greater Toronto Area. Clinic staff are comprised of a multidisciplinary team of rehabiltation, vocational rehabilitation and psychological specialists, with extensive experience in servicing physical or psychological conditions arising from trauma, developmental learning and neurological conditions, or other insidious or injury related circumstances.

Manager

Dr. Shawn Scherer, Clinical Director of the Read Clinic, is widely known across Canada and the U.S. in the fields of neurorehabilitation psychology, vocational rehabilitation, and the impacts of physical or psychological trauma on post injury adjustment, and employability.

Dr. Scherer has held numerous professional appointments including a member of the graduate faculty at the University of Toronto, Clinical Internship Supervisor at York University, and the York/​Seneca Rehabilitation Program. He has lectured widely in Canada and the U.S. on issues related to post injury adjustment to disability, pain disorders, and vocational rehabilitation issues.
