Seefu Hair Yorkville

After an extensive Unilocal research session, I finally decided on Seefu Hair and I was not disappointed. Something you should know that I’m very picky and have never left a hair salon feeling satisfied. As soon as I got to Seefu, my jacket was put on a rack and I was taken care of. I was brought water, all of the girls were super attentive, and the overall service was great. Yasuka, my stylist, asked me what I wanted and I showed her some pictures (I would definitely recommend bringing pictures and inspiration of what you want, sometimes a verbal description just isn’t enough). Although some of the other newer girls didn’t seem to speak english that well, Yasuka immediately knew what I wanted and how to achieve the brown/​blonde balayage look on my waist-​length hair after a short consultation.
She suggested getting a trim before the colour since my hair is very thick and long so I obliged. (This cut alone cost $ 65). She brought out some pictures of her client’s hair and made sure that she knew 100% what it is that I wanted so you can definitely trust that she will do it right.
The whole process took around 4.5 hours because of the layering of the colours and length and density of my hair. It included a bleaching session, toning, two washes, an olaplex treatment, a complementary massage, and styling at the end.
In total, the price was a lot more than I would have liked which is where I took off one star: $ 260 for the colour, $ 65 for the cut, and $ 50 for the olaplex treatment and then plus tax & tip.
To conclude, I would absolutely recommend Seefu since I am in love with my new hair but it is a bit expensive.

Had Yasuka to colour my hair from reading all the Unilocal reviews. Her service wasnt spectacular and the colour came out lighter than I showed her.

I went here last night for the first time to get my hair cut and it is by far the best salon I have ever been to. I was nervous about it being a japanese salon when I am not japanese, but it was perfectly fine. I had Amanda, she was extremely nice, and knew exactly what she was doing. $ 50 for a haircut is totally reasonable considering how amazing it looked. She did exactly what I wanted, and then they gave me a massage and shampoo. You pick the shampoo and conditioner you want, they life you down on a massage bed while shampooing and you get a full shoulder massage after, and then they blow dry and even curled my hair. amazing salon. Oh and they give you tea! They take AMEX too!

Had my hair done with Vincent — Cut, balayage, ombré look.
He is truly an artist. I can honestly say I’ve never had a better hair job than this. The place is great, staffs co-​ordinate very well. Organized, respectful and professional.

The environment was very clean and everyone was very nice/​polite. I had a head massage and the shampoo/​conditioner seemed to be of high quality. I also was greeted with warm tea and smiles.
But…I have very thick hair and some hairdressers tend to have an urge to over thin it instead of balance it out. l unfortunately had that experience at Seefu… I walked out with a carrot shaped layered cut – the layers were too short and the bottom was thinned out to the extreme (I specifically asked her to avoid this). Now the ends are overly wispy and flips out no matter how hard I try to style it (I also can’t really tie it up either because the layers are too short.)…the experience is probably most likely dependent on which hairdresser you have though and what your personal style is (mine was super nice so I won’t name my hairdresser here). Who knows, some people might like this style!

i wanted to like this place so badly that I went back after they effed up my hair twice with blotchy die jobs. the location was just behind where i worked and I keep remembering the first time I went, the service was phenomenal — tea, purse lock and the massage that everybody talks about. the colorist (who no longer works there) took her time and was very meticulous, resulting in the most even, beautiful shade of ash brown I’ve ever had. there are still remnants of her work on the lower half of my hair that makes me sigh.
since that time, I’ve gone back twice and spent more than 4 hours on the chair, 300 $+ each time on colouring job which were so poorly done (during visit #1, the stylist forgot to bleach my roots and my hair was orange!) although they offer to fix it without charging me, I simply don’t have 4 hours to sit on a chair– especially when a good job is not guaranteed. each subsequent time I went, I did not receive the complimentary massage, which leads me to think the stylist assumes they have your business so there’s no need to try. I’m so disappointed and upset still because my hair’s 50 shades of orange.

I tried this salon for the first time last week and I ABSOLUTELY love this place!
I got a haircut from Yasuka and she was fantastic. She gave me exactly what I was looking for. I’ve never left a salon after a haircut 100% happy with my hair. This was the first time! And as a first time customer, I got 30% off too! I am definitely coming back here!

I didn’t want to leave a review for my second visit as it fell short of my expectations compared to my first visit but here’s my two cents anyway. I came in for a hair cut and color with a level 2 hair stylist (who shall remain nameless) as my preferred level 2 hair stylist (Nene, mentioned in my first review) was unavailable. I showed her a picture of the color I was going for and she had a brief look at it and immediately began mixing the colors. I was a bit concerned as she did not communicate the process, the colors used or the price. And yes, I do understand that there is an language barrier with some of the employees that work here but some basic business and customer service etiquette would be nice. The hair color turned out pretty good, but not phenomenal. There were a couple of harsh highlights close to my roots that did not sit well with the rest of my hair (or me).
Whilst I tried to mentally prepare myself for the price of it all, it was still a shock to the system — $ 300.00 for cut & color. To everyone who is considering coloring hair here, remember to do your research and book time with a hair stylist whose work has been proven. That being said, I’m in no rush to return to Seefu for my future haircut and/​or color needs.

Was excited to try this location as I’ve been to the Spadina location. Wash and massage was great BUT terrible blow out. He did exactly what I said I didn’t want! Requested volume, bounce and NOT to be straight. He pulled out the flat iron after I told him NO TOOLS, and said he would make «curls». I left with flat, pin straight hair. Worst «blow out» Ive had. Would consider with another stylist but when a client is a first time visit, every attempt should be made to listen to their request…

I haven’t had my hair cut in Toronto since pre-​2009. I was downtown in the Yorkville area, and found Seefu on Unilocal.
Benny was the stylist who cut my hair. He did such a great job! He was very open to what I wanted, and provided honest suggestions during our consultation.
The shoulder massage and hot tea was the icing on the cake!
I will definitely make Seefu my go-​to hair salon whenever I am in town.

I have been searching for a great hair salon for a very long time… and today, my search has finally ended.
Just a quick bio on my hair type, I am Asian with long pin straight fine hair. Trying to get any volume in it is next to impossible. Akiyo was my chosen stylist as her online profile said she takes a more ‘natural’ approach to a timeless and effortless look. Not only did she deliver, but completely exceeded my expectations! We had a brief hair consultation, I showed her a photo and discussed if the style was suitable for me. Then her superb service began and she started her magic on me. She was very precise with great attention to detail. I was then transferred to the hair wash station where I got a nice head massage, then followed by an AWESOME 10 minute shoulder massage by Ayumi. I almost fell asleep because it was soooo relaxing. Overall, I loved the cut, style, and experience! TWO THUMBS UP! I will definitely be coming back to Akiyo!

I really wanted to like this place. The pictures were so nice. Came in to get my hair ombré’d. 5 hours later (almost double the time they said it would take) and $ 250 later my hair was orange and not ombré. The fade from dark to light was nonexistent and my hair was completely brassy (and green?! In some places) due to improper use of toner.
The service was excellent and the head massage was really good. I won’t name my hair stylist but I recommend that you go to their Instagram and pick a hairstylist whose results are displayed frequently. I made the mistake of going with someone who only had a few pics of their work on Instagram.
They are highly rated on Unilocal but you will notice that there’s a lot of 5 star reviews from people who’ve only written a couple of reviews on their Unilocal (sign that it could be fake). Do your research, and pick someone experienced.

Wow. Just wow. I came here in a pinch and they just got a customer for life. Professional and I got ushered in for my haircut immediately. I really appreciate not waiting. Amazing shampoo/​condition job and then a 10 minute neck and shoulder massage.
My cut was done by a Level 1 named Koichi, quiet and very nice. My hair is naturally curly and I like it blowdried straight. He did a good job — perhaps straightened it too well. Overall it was a great experience and I will be back.

What a pleasant surprise after randomly deciding to come here based on Unilocal reviews late one Saturday evening. From the cut, to the shampoo, relaxing shoulder rub, and styling, Seefu really went beyond my expectations and delivered a quality and truly relaxing experience. You can’t imagine how thrilled I was getting such wonderful service to be rung up for only $ 31! ($ 45 less a 30% discount for new clients.) Go now and reward these lovely people with your business. Vincent is a hair God! I have sent many friends here with extreme hair requests and he’s been able to fulfil them. He is attentive, never rushing, always friendly. I once had a hair disaster, I wanted a certain colour and it ended up being completely opposite! But Vincent promptly fixed it without question and gave me exactly the hair I wanted.
I have been seeing him since he worked at the spadina location! Now I swear by him, even brought my mother in law from Guelph to see him.
Ps: stop reading any more reviews!!! Just go and see him!!! Make an appointment!!! He’s off Monday and Tuesday! But if you must Monday or Tuesday go see NENE she’s the hair goddess!!!

I love my haircut! And that’s a big deal. 90% of the time my first reaction to a new haircut is regret.
I needed my self cut bangs fixed badly. And filmmaker #heathertobin asked me to play a small role in the film she’s currently working on, so I had to get cleaned up!
Nene at #seefu #hairsalon is a #wizard with scissors. She gave me this incredible #asymetrical #haircut with a little shaved bit and made my bangs respectable again.
The whole experience was magical. Green tea while being styled. Wrapped in a warm blanked while getting shampooed in a massage chair. The most amazing lavender scented shampoo. A ten minute neck head and shoulder massage that almost literally made me drool on myself.
And as a new client I took advantage of the 30% off deal!
Amaze balls. Now to just grow these darn #bangs out!

Very disappointed. Had a haircut today and the «level 2» stylist did a terrible job.
I brought in photos to show the stylist exactly what I liked, and did not like. But she did exactly what I had asked her NOT to do. I said, please do not cut shaggy layers in the front. And she cut shaggy layers in the front. I even stopped her halfway to say, «no no, please, no layers like that in the front», but she did not listen. To «style it» at the end, she brushed out my waves to leave a fluffy mess. Wavy hair should not be brushed out :(She did not even dry it all the way.
I had to go to the bathroom to wet my hair again because it looked so terrible. I left with wet hair and a hat on my head and still paid full price.
The first time I came to this salon, I had a wonderful experience with a different stylist. The salon itself is clean, the head massage is wonderful. I had thought this trip would be the same as my first, but it was terrible. I was so disappointed today. I spent $ 70 with tip included and my hair looks terrible. Really awful.

With the impossibilities of finding a decent hair dresser in Toronto I’m confident to say I finally found one! The salon is comfortable, inviting and the service is great! I showed my hairdresser a photo of what I wanted and he did exactly that! The head massage and shoulder massage is a great touch, the chairs your in while you get your hair shampood are so comfortable!
I got low lights and a small trim, the price was much lower then I’d expected and the results were perfect, the time frame which it was done was not very long as it usually is at other places I’ve gone.
Bottom line, I’d highly recommend this place to anyone!

I was on the hunt for a salon that specialized in Asian hair!
Seefu seemed promising and I decided to check them out!
This place is Yorkville chic and newly renovated upstairs of Sushi Inn.
The staff are friendly and I was treated very well. They hung up my jacket, locked up my purse and offered me tea right away.
Yasuka is a talented colourist and I would return to see her again.
However, even though my experience was good, I can’t say it was perfect.
You should definitely have an idea of what you want.
There is a bit of a communication gap since most of girls here are Japanese.
They are sweet and wonderful, but you need to be clear about what you want.
I was curious about how my hair would turn out.
I had images of animé characters running through my head, animé chicks are hot, right?
Anyways, I had the Elumen colouring which is a gentler bleach and my hair ended up costing about $ 200.
At home, I noticed a few streaks that were not colored and I emailed the salon right away. They did offer that I come in for a fix which I was happy about!
However, when it came time for the fix, they were very specific about the fixing and said they might have to charge me more. I paid enough the first time and was not very keen on spending more money.
So, there are a few reasons that I’ve given them a 3-​star rating:
— They really should have tried a bit more to make me happy as a new client.
— I had to ask twice to have certain strands re-​coloured.
— Also, the first hair wash wasn’t thorough enough and I had to be sent back for second rinsing
–The massage kinda left me bruised, so ask for gentle!
— And my colour is already fading, but it’s might be my hair and not the salon.
Overall, the staff (Except for the frowning guy) are very nice.
I want to like this place and I will have to think about whether I would return.
