Second Cup

A friend and I visited this location a few weeks back, following our tradition of shopping + cupcakes (definitely recommended :). The staff here were friendly, the line moved quickly, and there is a lot of seating right outside the store itself in the mall. We each got a cupcake, which was pretty good. Not the best ever, but for a mall coffee shop cupcake, I was pleased. Lots of selection for treats for a shopping sugar pick-​me-​up.

This Second Cup location stands out because of the really friendly service. There are other coffee shops at Yorkdale… but… after a few visits the staff here remembers what you usually order and make you feel really welcome. Also they often sing while making the beverages, a nice touch.

Forget the other coffee chains, Second Cup is where it’s at. Love their Paradiso coffee. I prefer my coffee black and this medium roast with a hint of sweetness is not as bitter — perfect to drink alone.
Staff here are super friendly and cheerful no matter what time I go in. Baked goods are delicious too. Raisin bran muffins are my weakness and Second Cup trumps Timmies in their goods department. Freshness over frozen.
Sometimes I like to grab a coffee and muffin and people watch. Chairs and tables are available in the hallway of the mall. Be wary of the tea shop across trying to lure you in with samples!

There are three coffee options in Yorkdale (if there’s a Tim Hortons I don’t consider that a coffee option): Second cup, Timothy’s, and Starbucks. The Second Cup has hallway seating and nice for people watching.
