Sal’s Tattoo & Barber Shop

I’ve been going to Sals for about 10 years now. I’ve seen artists come and go and it’s always a pleasure. Greg is amazing and never disappoints. It’s true he doesn’t like taking tips but if you’re forceful he will give in. He has such a big heart and always makes your visit a memorable one.

Greg did an awesome job with my tattoo. I had to get it touched up, since I screwed it up myself during the years, and he really made it look brand new. He has a great sense of humour, and makes you feel very welcomed into his shop. The staff are very friendly as well. The tattoo took about 20 – 30 mins tops to complete, and he did it with great detail. Will definitely be coming back!!! :)

Love this place! 2 tattoos from here so far, and one touch up (originally from elsewhere, but they sucked).
I’m a huge fan of how Greg treats his customers. He’s always friendly, and willing to voice his opinions regarding certain placements or sizes (e.g. finger tattoos, white tattoos, etc.). He’s also able to avoid hard-​handing (clearly he’s experienced), and you will never get scarring with his tattoos. For some reason, all the work I’ve gotten done by Greg has never peeled, whereas a lot of other places mess up and I have some scabbing. He also doesn’t like tips… I’m not sure why. But obvi, it’s polite to offer a tip!
Moral of the Story: Book appointments with Greg at this excellent quality tattoo parlour!

Went there for my very first tattoo today and had great service. The staff were friendly there and I specifically had Dreegz who put up with my rather annoying persistence for perfection! The prices here are very reasonable and the shop looks pretty clean. I got my rib done here and am surprised that the tattoo hardly hurt at all! I would definitely recommend this tattoo shop as I had a great experience!

I had a great experience. I love Greg’s work. I started with a hummingbird which was inked to look like watercolour. We will be adding to this image in a few weeks so I am going back. Highly recommend this shop and the people are great.

I went to Sal’s the first time 15 years ago, and Greg was my artist. He was very friendly, was very conscious that it was my first time, after 20 minutes he was finished, and I was laughing because of the great conversation and jokes he provided during the session.
I have gone back 4 times ever since, and had the pleasure of having Greg 3 of those times, including today. He is excellent! He is very meticulous, detailed, very considerate and sensitive to my needs and low tolerance of pain. I highly highly recommend him !! I find Sal’s a comfortable environment with great people.
I have away from Toronto more than in Toronto the past 15 years and I have always waited to go back to Sal’s for any tattoo work I have needed.

I have been tattooed in Edmonton, Atlanta, Georgia and finally Toronto — this has been my best experience yet!
After being quoted an expensive price for my 3 word tattoo, I happened to stop by Sal’s on a hunch, as my friend had recommended them previously. Greg greeted me once I walked in. The place has a barber chair at the front and it put me off guard at first. Once you move towards the back you see the tattoo paraphernalia. I asked Greg about finger tattoos and he vehemently told me why he was against them (he was the third artist to do so) which was fine. I instead decided on another spot. He went to work right away and designed the tattoo free-​hand. I told him I was looking for a more specific font. We looked online and when i showed him what I wanted, he re-​designed the tattoo free-​hand once again.
Greg mentioned he had an appointment coming in but since they were late, he said he could fit me in!
Greg did a GREAT tattoo on me maybe 10 – 15 min later. I was shocked! He charged me $ 80 cash and refused my hefty tip. The shop I was at previously wanted to charge $ 130 and cited the area was a tricky one (under my right breast).
I am SO glad I came here and I will make sure to return to get any other tattoo while in Canada.

Amazing artists with some specialized in portraiture and beautiful script work.
A professional and clean shop that lives to make every one of their diverse (and I do mean literally diverse, from all skin tones and walks of life) clientele feel at ease when they come for a tattoo.
I feel good about a place where everyone is made to feel welcome and you cannot catch a whiff of a bad attitude or snobbishness anywhere.
Not to mention they’ve been in business for 15 years or more. A tattoo shop doesn’t hang around that long if they’re not amazing at what they do.

By far the best tattoo shop i’ve been to, so much talent in one shop. Great atmosphere and awesome location. I truly believe that this is the only place to get tattoos done. I got my first tattoo from greg 10yrs ago, came back recently and got ink done from an artist named dreegz and all i can say is that i am very pleased. I recommend anyone who wants a tattoo to get it from here.

So I was going to cheat on my tattoo artist a few weeks ago, out of connivence for my bff who lives out of town and learned a lesson :-(
I called the shop Friday and asked if I could book a tattoo for two Sunday. The appointment was made and immediately thought to myself «Why didn’t I just book with him in the first place?!»
My best friend and I showed up a bit early at the shop but Greg said he’s take us early (again… soooo much better than the other place!) My friend went first. Even though this was her first Greg put her at ease and she said the hardest part was trying not to laugh while be tattooed because Family Guy was playing.
Next was me… this is my third tattoo but since it was on my foot it was by far the most painful! 20 minutes later the deed was done.
I am super happy with the service I get here and would HIGHLY recommend this shop to people.
