Sailing Fanatics

I learned to sail last summer by taking my CanSail 1 & 2 through Sailing Fanatics. I’ve since joined a different club that sails Albacores from the Toronto Island, but I wanted to say how glad I am to have learned to sail with Tom and his other instructors.
Tom and crew are patient, well-​organized, and gregarious. As someone completely new to sailing and with the natural athleticism of an uncoordinated hyena, I very much appreciated the Sailing Fanatics approach. Classes started with some theory, followed by on-​shore in-​the-​boat practice, and then off you’d go with you and your fellow newbie boating partner. It was a bit intimidating at first, but the instructors are pretty good sports about adapting to their students and ever-​changing wind conditions in the outer harbour.
The location is a bit inconvenient for some and the atmosphere on Regatta Rd is a wee bit lacking, but overall I had fun and found this a great place to get my feet wet with sailing (both literally and figuratively).
