This is just a review of my telephone call with this practice and am only providing it because Unilocal asked me to. I developed iritis prior to Christmas and since I had recently moved to the Beach, I thought it would be more convenient to switch from my prior eye doctor to someone in the community. The individual who answered the phone advised me that had I called ten minutes earlier, she could have fit me in on a cancellation. Since iritis should not be left untreated for long and can be diagnosed in minutes, I asked if there was any way that I could be fit in. There wasn’t. I then asked that if I was already a patient, I’m sure I’d be fit in. I was told no, and that I should go to my current eye doctor, which I did because I was given an appointment that afternoon. My concern about considering this particular practice for my future eye care is that a patient with an emergency will not be accommodated and that the only other recourse would be to go to the emergency department of a hospital. So, no thanks. I’ll find someone else.
