This review is actually for Dimensions framing that is in the same space. I just had a piece done and am not only thrilled with the work, but also with the service.

i love rouge. i love their artwork they show. i love the design of their space. i love their philosophy and goals. i love the owners gumption and humility. the artwork is very bold, both in sheer size and colour and breadth. theres a couple of paintings — one of a huge chickadee as you enter and another of the head of a doberman as you approach the back created with such detail and expertise — quite a head turner just because its so grand. there are ceramic coke bottles that have the feel of aged asian pottery or something, perhaps reminding us of the lovely shapes that surround us on a daily basis. on the walls you will see cabinets that might come straight from a tim burton movie or an acid trip with their jagged lines and their joyful play with colour and perspective. on the floor towards the middle stands a vibrant, hand painted room divider that is either sold as one piece or separately as individual panels you might hang on your wall. these are just a few examples — there are many more i loved that i can think of but better to see them for yourself. their space is designed in such a way, where, as essentially one large room, with very high ceilings at the back, it allows you not be bombarded by the artwork but to leisurely stroll around and be drawn towards it. the art is physically accessible to touch and in some cases to holding up for a closer view(with caution of course). at the back of the store sits a couch and a lamp created to resemble a sample aspect of ones own space at home. this couch setup is a testament to their philosophy which could be summed up in one word: accessibility. it is important to the owners that the price for the art is accessible, the art itself can also be functional(as in the cabinets, dividers or glass tables they have) and finally in the stores design. what they have begun to set up at the back by way of the couch and lamp is what they mean to do for the whole place, which is to help the customer easily find and envision a way in which such exciting and bold pieces would fit into their homes and lifestyles. And it is with this idea in mind that they will continue to present the work in little vignettes throughout the store. the owners, nancy, christian and brian have all been very welcoming, patient and open to questions. they prefer to allow you wander as you please to experience the artwork and they dont hover or seem pretentious in anyway whatsoever. you can see that not only are their pocketbooks on the line perhaps, but their hearts too, as they are truly lovers(and i would venture to say creators) of many artforms and you just want them to do well. so, like a woman might allow a little rouge to bring out the best in her lovely features, allow this rouge to do the same for you and your home and go and visit.
