Description

Specialties

Physiotherapy can benefit those with an injury or impairment to the musculoskeletal system. At Roncesvalles Physiotherapy, each patient is assessed and treated one-on-one by a health care professional. Exercise prescription, electrotherapy, modalities, massage therapy, and patient education help speed recovery and return to sport/activity, while in turn promote quality of life and longevity.

Roncesvalles Physiotherapy offers unique services such as comprehensive sports rehabilitation, dance injury prevention, pre and post-natal care, in addition to standard musculoskeletal therapy across the lifespan. Using a client-centred approach and evidence-based treatment, clients will understand their impairment, the benefits of physiotherapy, and be empowered to return to sport and remain active throughout their lives.

History

Established in 2014.

Adrienne Murawiecki, owner of Roncesvalles Physiotherapy, graduated from the University of Toronto’s Master’s of Science in Physiotherapy in 2008. Since this time, she has worked in four private practice clinics and one hospital, gaining experience across the spectrum of physiotherapy care. Her work with the Men’s Junior National Wheelchair Basketball Team has given her experience working and travelling with professional athletes. Prior to her education in physiotherapy, Adrienne was a professional dance artist with a fine arts degree from the Ryerson Dance Program. Moving into the field of physiotherapy was a natural step; injuries provided experiences and admiration for the profession from the perspective of a client. Adrienne aims to help her patients better understand their injury so that they are on board as a part of rehabilitation process.

Meet the Manager

John A.

Manager

John graduated from Sutheraland-Chan College in 2005, and has since worked as a massage therapist in clinical, corporate, and spa settings. Through his experience of studying the body and mind, John has come to believe that the two are strongly related. Massage therapy is an effective way to relieve pain and dysfunction that arise in our bodies as physical and mental stresses. John has travelled to Thailand where he learned Thai massage and Foot Reflexology. His experience has changed the way he perceives and treats the body. He is committed to his profession, and has experience in a broad range of pathologies including sciatic nerve disorders, neck pain, sports injuries, headaches, stress-related issues, and pregnancy massage.

Outside of the treatment room, John enjoys cycling, running, and working-out. He hopes to complete his Personal training program within the year so he can further diversify his practice, while broadening his scope of practice.
