Road Runner Towing

The absolute worst service I have ever had to deal with in my entire life. They told me a truck would come in 1 hour and it ended up arriving in 2.5 hours. They also told me the driver would call me several times to update me and that never happened either. When I called the company for an update they put me on hold for many minute and sometimes didn’t even answer. They lied many times about where the driver was. Is that how you treat a customer? Not only that, they also said it would cost approx $ 165 to tow my car and it ended up being over $ 100 more. They lie!!! Do NOT use them ever!!!

Do NOT use this service. It is a SCAM. Yesterday my brother and I was involved in an car accident and had called this company «Road Runner Towing» because it was the first tow truck company that came up on search. We called them to tow our car as it was badly damaged and inoperable. They asked for our credit card information in advance as it was their company «policy» to do so. My brother gave them his and we waited at the scene of the accident for about 40 minutes before the tow truck driver arrived. He was a guy named Jonathan who seemed fairly new to the job. It took him over an hour to get the car cranked up to the truck and driven to an auto repair shop. In the end, my brother was charged a ridiculous amount of $ 360 for this slow service. Now the thing we were unaware of, being the first time in a car accident, was that the car needed to be towed to the collision reporting centre right after the accident. After speaking with the police officer there, we were told that the tow truck driver and the company should have known that by law. However, there was no mention of the collision reporting centre when the driver came to tow our car. Also, we were told by the officer that we were OVERCHARGED by this service given that there is a FLAT RATE of $ 187 for towing after a collision. When we realized we had been ripped off, we tried to call the company and the driver again for them to tow the car to the collision centre to reverse the charge (since my brother had already paid double the rate). However they REFUSED to cooperate even when we had told them what they did was against the law. We are now getting the bylaw officers involved in this case as they are not willing to cooperate.
Bottom line is, they made us pay double the rate for a less than subpar service. More importantly, they are running a fraudulent business and are trying to bypass the law. This will not go unresolved. I hope that no one else will have to go through what we went through. I am posting this as a warning.
