Ritche Bridal

I had an amazing experience at this bridal store earlier today. I had a large party with me and they staff member that was helping me was very accommodating. I will definitely be purchasing my bridal gown from this store in the near future. They had Amazing options! I am so happy with my choice.

Nice atmosphere. Staff is friendly and relaxed. A pleasant place to try on dresses and the staff was unobtrusive. I am a mother of the bride and tried on formal dresses but needed to show my daughter (the bride to be) who lives in the USA but she could not be with me.
The staff was nice and took pictures of me in all the gowns I tried on.
I was able to send these pics on my cell phone to my daughter to narrow down my choices.
She will be flying into Toronto in two weeks and we will be back to finalize our choice.
(Another evening/​wedding gown store would not allow photos even though I told them my situation with a long distance wedding. This policy of not allowing photos was weird since none of their dresses were original works of art; they were just nice selections of typical designers).

I bought my wedding dress from Ritche Bridal.
I appreciate that I was able to view their inventory online and send a wish list. When I arrived for my shopping appointment they had pulled everything from the list as well as some similar styles they thought I’d like. They also asked me my budget and kept the dresses within my price range.
You should know, Ritche is not really the store for «shopping on a budget» but mine was pretty generous. Anyway, I appreciate they did not try to woo me with $ 5000 dresses.
My sales associate Michelle was very nice and seems to genuinely enjoy helping soon-​to-​be brides. My only complaint was that she nearly sold me a dress that wouldn’t have covered my bust enough. I had to come back the day after I ordered it to meet with the head of alterations and ended up ordering a larger size.
The alterations seemed pricey at first, especially because we had to pay for them upfront. But after 6 fittings I can tell you they are quite reasonable.
The alterations department led by Susan, worked tirelessly turning a size 8 into a 2. Then they gave the dress a complete makeover by adding boning because the fabrics insisted on bunching in the back.
The reason this review is a 4 not a 5 is because the dress I bought was made of 4 fabrics that don’t seem to work well together. As is said, I had 6 fittings and the dress still had some bunching in the back. It would have been nice if the sales associates were privy to this issue, as I would not have bought the dress had I known how much trouble it would be. I am so grateful the alterations department spent so much time trying to fix it.
In the end I looked stunning on my wedding day, and not one person notice the bunching. I would definitely recommend Ritche Bridal.

I went to Ritche after the appointment from hell at another boutique. I was feeling jaded and not expecting much but Sam and the whole Ritche experience was amazing!
Sam listened and more importantly understood what I wanted and the dresses she brought were perfect! I couldn’t believe how intuitive she was!
Being that this part of the city is pretty foreign to me we got a little lost on our way there and were late but we were never made to feel like an inconvenience.
The icing on the cake was that I found an amazing dress and half my budget! I highly suggest Ritche for a comfortable, affordable and very helpful dress shopping experience!

After visiting several stores in the Toronto location, my mom recommended my friend (the bride) and I (bridesmaid) visit Ritche bridal, where my aunt got her dress almost 30 years ago!
We have been to several bridal stores in Toronto — none compare to our experience.
Firstly, there was parking! Tight! But available!
We were greeted with a warm welcome from Pearl! We let them know we had a bridal appointment but wanted to see bridesmaids dresses first. She watched the clock the whole time we were searching.
They also have a washroom! A washroom they let us use! Wow! As if this is a big deal? But it is! Several other stores didn’t! Or we had to go into frightening basements into dirty old closet washrooms!
Pearl was amazing, as well as the other women shuffling around trying to make sure we found what we were looking for. They had everything you can imagine, and every colour…
When we went up for our appointment. They were right on time. We actually got our own full room! It had a curtain so the bride changed right then and there and showed immediately. It was super efficient and private.
Our personal shopper — Neoma? Naomi? I feel bad for forgetting her name– but she is amazing! she stayed in budget and pulled some amazing dresses! She took great notes on what our bride wanted!
After everything, and not buying any dresses, they were super helpful of where we could find the dresses, where we could get more info etx etx. And how to order with them and that alterations don’t need to be done at their store. They also had a lot of information about colours and how sometimes dresses are cut from different things of fabric and can be off a bit. Anyways they were super upfront about what to expect.
I was in complete shock how amazing this experience was.

I went into Ritche Bridal boutique on Avenue Rd prior to the new year and super sale that occurred last week and worked with a girl name Michelle. My experience at the boutique was amazing as Michelle was very helpful and gave her honest opinion. I’ve noticed in some bridal stores, that the stylist will encourage the bride to go for the most expensive dress, not Michelle. The other staff at Ritche were very helpful as well. I did not purchase my dress in the store during my first visit, however I decided to attend the super sale that happens only once a year. To my luck, I was able to work with Michelle again! She helped me out immensely and I ended up purchasing my wedding dress! It was a GREAT price and a great experience altogether. The boutique and sale has a lot of options that can satisfy all taste. If you are looking for a dress at an affordable rate, go to the sale! It only happens once a year… next one will be next January! Thank you Ritche Bridal for making such an overwhelming experience, smooth and comfortable. I would recommend this bridal boutique to anyone!

I called this place looking for a dress I had tried on at Kleinfelds but was told I wouldn’t be able to get it on time. The manager who answered my call looked upnthe gown and said they didn’t carry it but did have a dress that was similar. She had available time slots the same day so I went in later the same day.
The dress they had was even nicer than the one I had tried on at Kleinfelds. The stylist pinned on some more jewels which really made a difference. Since this was a last minute appt I wanted to come back with a bridesmaid to get her opinion but the stylist was a bit pushy. She said they’d be closed next week and that they close early during the week. She said I couldn’t afford to wait 2 weeks to make a decision as the dress couldn’t be rushed.
I’m not sure whether that was true or not, but it did turn a pleasant experience to a sour one. She even said, don’t let this dress turn into the one like kleinfelds. I ended up giving up on the dress as I felt too pressured to purchase it.
Edit: they contacted me to tell me that they didn’t mean to be pushy. They just wanted to get the point across that I needed to make a decision as the deadlines were cutting it close to when I would need the dress. Great customer service!

I walked into this place knowing nothing about commercial bridesmaid dresses. I had done a bit of research ahead of time and knew some of the collection names and the general styles I preferred. A young energetic sales associate named Michelle was a fantastic guide. She knew the types of dresses I was looking for and helped me pull some styles I would never have thought to try on. She was professional without being pushy and made the experience fun.
If you would like a sales team that will zip you in and out of gowns while not being too pushy, this is a good spot. It will most likely be busy and hectic, but weekends at bridal stores are often like this. I’m on my way to finding a great M.O.H dress. I wish all customer service was like this.

Great and discreet service. My Girlfriend was looking for a dress for my Daughter’s wedding and the staff paid just the right amount of help.

Ritche ordered my dress two sizes too big and then charged me upwards of $ 600 for alterations.
The alterations department was horrible. They kept doing extremely shoddy work on my dress and I kept having to come in for fitting after fitting while they tried to fix the latest mistake. I had SEVEN fittings in total, including one 2 days before my wedding. They took in the sides of the dress by different amounts, creating a twisted bodice that bubbled out on one side. Nobody apologized or took responsibility for the series of mistakes.
The alterations department also would not make my dress tight enough. It was a strapless mermaid dress with a huge poofy skirt, so it was crucial that the waist be tight enough to hold the dress up. It was so big at the bottom that I was able to walk up a flight of stairs on my wedding day in a dress that was supposed to be skin-​tight all the way down to the knee. The material was bubbling and puckering, and the dress kept slipping down on my wedding day. I am so furious with Ritche and their incompetent alterations department. The dress was a constant headache and I would say it was actually the worst part of my wedding day.

I am looking for the wedding dress and saw this site online. Looked really nice. I went their twice as they had nice dresses. First time was great. I was really happy with the girl that was helping me. She was energetic and bubbly… Perfect for that kind of place…
The second time I went their to check the dress I liked I wasn’t too impressed with her. It seems like I was very rushed… There is a possibility that she had a bad day. But I decided not to deal with them …

Came here to look for bridesmaid dresses 3 months before the wedding.
Quite an unpleasant experience mostly because we were told that everything needed to be rush ordered. They mentioned it the moment we walked in and didn’t bother to help us. We picked out some dresses anyway and we were mostly on our own, there was no one to help us with our zippers and such.
Selection was alright, but very pricey.

Very unpleasant experience for my May visit.
I already knew the gowns I wanted to try on b4 I went there. So I told the consultant right on the spot what I would be interested in trying on. She did pull a few gowns actually meet my requirements.
Here are the terrible parts:
The store does claim it has private fitting room. The little area that curtained up for you to fit your gowns are way too small, just a little corner of the fitting room, which is right beside a couch where your entourage can sit. I was trying on ballroom gowns… there was NO WAY i could get changed behind the curtain. The gal brought a gown to me then just told me straight to my face to get off my clothes and put on the gown. All of us felt pretty uncomfortable… I mean you cannot assume we all have seen each other naked before, no?
Anyway, I tried on the gowns and decided to ask abt the order time for a couple of them. It turned out they would take abt 3 months to order, which is fine. I was asking if there was any chance to try to get the gown here a bit earlier so I could have time for alterations. The gal just looked at me with no smile or anything, said «I don’t know… if you want we can try but I just don’t know. «I mean she could have said it better at least attempt to make the customer feel she would want to go the extra miles to make your experience memorable. The whole time the way she talked to us was so rude, with no smile at all, which made me feel like she did not believe I would purchase a gown. In the end I was able to purchase the same gown I tried on at Ritche from another place with less wait time and a better price.
I have to say they do have a good selection of gowns, but for the service I would never go back to the store. If you see some gowns you like there, for sure you can find other stores carrying them too. Just sayin’ :)

Ritche was out of my price range but was the first place that had dresses in my size (16) and I liked almost all the dresses I tried on!
Service was great, the attention to my wants was amazing. I really have nothing bad to say!
They have parking out back, just FYI ;)

Wow! I was super impressed with Ritche. I called Saturday and made an appt for the following Monday (Easter Monday) at 4pm. Parked on the street it was $ 2.25/hour BUT didn’t realize that they have their own parking lot in the back of the store. So make sure you take advantage of that!
The bridal area is upstairs, my mom and me went up and was greeted by our consultant Adriana. She is young and super sweet! She lead us to a big room with 3 large mirrors, a couch and one or two chairs. She then asked what I was looking for, price point, wedding date, etc. I already went on their website and picked a few dresses and gave her the #s. She said while we were doing that if we wanted we could go pull some dresses that I liked in the main room.
I tried on about 15 dresses total, half from my picking and half of her picking for me. She was AMAZING at knowing what I wanted and picked some really great gowns! We narrowed it down to 4 dresses. She knew it was my first bridal dress appointment so I think she understood I wasn’t getting anything that day. She was so pleasant and never rushed us at all. She wrote down all the names and style #s for me on a card with her name and email.
Another thing my mother and me were blown away with was the prices! The most expensive dress I picked was still under $ 2500! The ones I tried on ranged from $ 1000-​$ 2500 which I consider EXTREMELY reasonable for a bridal gown!
They have a vast selection!
I will def be back! They seem like a great place to get a dress! :)

I went to Ritche having already been to two other bridal stores that day and thinking that I had already found «The Dress», but I didn’t want to be rude and cancel my appointment last minute.
My consultant was Yvette and she was amazing. Told her right away that I thought we had already found a dress, but wanted to try on more to be sure. Told her exactly what I liked and she brought back an amazing selection for me to try on and amazingly, I found a second «The Dress». Now I was confused and wanted to be able to compare them. But the previous store hadn’t let me a) take pictures or b) see the label or know the designer, so my friends and I tried to describe it the best that we could («It went swoosh, swoosh and swoosh»). And by the vague description, Yvette was able to find the exact same dress in their stock and we were able to really compare. After going back and forth several times, we went with dress #2.
Dress came in about a month earlier than they anticipated, and they let me come in and show it to my mother in law who was visiting from out of town when I ask, even when it wasn’t a fitting (which I know was an odd request).
Fit like a glove, and didn’t need much alteration besides the hemline. Alterations were pricy considering how little needed to be done, which is the only reason why they aren’t getting 5 stars from me.

I came here to try on dresses and was extremely unimpressed with the customer service, layout of the store, cluttered feel and complete lack of selection.
We actually left the fitting early.
The consultant working with us was quite rude the two people I brought with me, she was pulling out dresses that had none of the things I had suggested I was interested in. I sound like a bridezilla but of the three Bridal Stores I went to before finding THE dress, this was the only one that left a sour taste in my mouth.
My advice: Go elsewhere.

This review is ONLY for the ‘Ritche Bridal Super Sale’ that happens once a year in North York.
My sister and I attended on a Saturday around noon and it was my first outing to shop for ‘THE DRESS’. I thought that I’d try on an assortment of dresses and styles and that I’d get a sense of what suited my figure — not that I’d would ever find ‘THE ONE’ on my first time ever shopping for a wedding dress.
The super sale was held in a hotel in North York and I think that the actual store is still around that area. I really wasn’t sure what to expect before getting there — maybe elbowing a few other brides out of the way in order to grab a dress or crowded rows filled with eager brides hoping to score a deal.
When we entered the hotel and found the sale it was a bit overwhelming. There were two stages flanking opposite sides of the huge room with full length mirrors and spotlights and rows upon rows of wedding gowns. All of the sale dresses were organized by size (which although I had no clue what my size was) made it helpful to jump in and start looking. After going through a few rows of racks, we ended up pulling about 3 dresses. There were tons of makeshift change rooms with curtains giving at least a little bit of privacy. I’m glad I had my sister to help me try on dresses because they are heavy and require intricate lacing and such, but there was plenty of helpful staff available in case. After trying a few dresses and them all being ‘no’s’ we hung them back on the rolling racks outside the dressing rooms and started round two. There really were a large assortment of designers, styles, colours and price ranges starting at $ 200 and upwards. A bride sticking to a budget definitely could find a dress if willing to buy off the rack. She could also get a dress at a fraction of the retail price if willing to search — I’m a major fan of Winners, so for me the thrill of the hunt is always exciting. Since I really didn’t have any expectations, looking through the never ending racks of dresses was pretty fun. Some of the sale dresses were in better condition than others, but a seamstress could fix many of the minor flaws (a broken strap, an embellishment coming loose, etc.)
After a few more dress trials, I found MY dress. It was majorly marked down, in great shape and would require minor alterations that any wedding dress needs — hemmed, shortened straps, and a steaming. I found out that it was a couture Italian designer and the style was from 2009. When I asked a staff member if the dresses were samples, she said yes and that some were unsold extra inventory from previous designer collections. I personally enjoyed the atmosphere of brides and bridesmaids all hopped up on excitement gushing over dresses and sparkling under the spotlights on the stage as they carefully checked themselves out in the mirrors. If you are the type of bride that prefers one on one service that a bridal appointment can offer, then this sale might not be the place to find a dress. What was nice is that you didn’t only have an hour to try on dresses or feel rushed. Staff was very helpful and answered all of my questions. There were also veils, accessories, and tiaras on sale at a huge discount.
In the end, I had a great time at this sale (even if my sister and I were starving and had to miss our sushi lunch date). I got my Mom and Dad to drive from Oakville and give me their opinions before making the leap and committing to the dress. My Mom even found her Mother-​of-​the-​Bride dress for $ 50! And she looks beautiful in it. They had a large selection of bridesmaid and M-​O-​T-​B dresses at rock bottom prices.
I would recommend this sale for any bride that wants to save money, or to go and not feel any pressure to buy anything from sales staff (I don’t think they were working for commission). You can try on as many dresses as you want but as with any blowout sale, dress purchases are final sale. If you are indecisive or need some time to ponder it over, then a retail store might be better for you. If you just want to try on a variety of designers and styles to get an idea of what you are looking for, I’d say go to this annual sale with a sister or bridesmaid and just have fun — you might get lucky and find YOUR dress at a major discount!

Had a great experience today with my girls.
We had an appointment and the lady that served us was absolutely fantastic.
At first when you come upstairs (bridal level) you are overwelmed — it is quite cramped and not much room to move if you have several bridal parties there.
Regardless we were given our own little suite room where we could relax while the bride changed into dresses.
The lady helping us was very thorough and wanted to know what details the bride wanted. This was her first time trying on the dresses so she brought us a little bit of everything to see what we liked.
She gave her honest opinions and said everything would be overwhelming however to take note as to what she liked.
I liked this place simply for the fact that they didn’t try and push a sale and she took her time to fulfill the brides needs.
It’s sometimes all about the cutomer service! :)

This place isn’t THAT bad. It was okay, I would have to say better service than others, but the environment isn’t amazing.
I actually was hesitant to come here. Came here once for BMs dresses, and we found the ladies pretentious and snobby. Fittings were okay, but we were young and did not know how to speak our minds. The dresses came out strange, some okay, one of the girls hems inner taffeta sewn on backwards, the boning was pointy and sometimes the sewing was crooked. The Bridea’s dress was also bought from here, and it ended up ripping in the middle of the evening, bc they forgot that she needed to eat, apparently.
Fast forward a few years later, and I am in her shoes. The prices range from $ 900 to $ 3000 (not bad) and today there was a sample sale where the dresses were 50% off.
We get there, and bridal was upstairs. The place is tiny. So cramped, and a small lounge area with couches. I don’t think there should even be more than two bridal parties up there.
There were people ordering their dresses, another group of people waiting, and about 3 other girls trying dresses.
They didn’t offer us any water or anything, but gave it to us in a teeny cup when we asked. The room we got was the biggest for me and my mom. It was some office space. From the looks of it, seems like they had some suites like this, but also just a square room.
What I liked was that the dresses weren’t all over for you to try and take a look. Instead, the consultant asked me all the details (except for the venue) and pulled according to my style. The bad thing is that, could there have been dresses that I never saw?
I had told her I was into an Alfred Sung dress, and I was impressed that with my criteria, it was also brought to me (maybe she also only had two AS dresses in stock as well, who knows).
I did end up finding another dress that my mom also liked and became a contender. so I have a tough decision to make.
One thing I do know, is that I will probably get another store to order the dress for me, and buy it from them. I don’t like their seamstresses, and i don’t want to risk it.
I would recommend here (one of the oldest bridal stores) to try on dresses if you’re searching. I believe the styles they carry are more traditional than others. And perhaps they have a lot of different stock (just look at their website) which is why the girls have to pull the dresses for you.
The one weird thing, is that when they give you style numbers or ask for more info about a style on their website, they do not give you the Actual Designer name and Style number, it’s the reference number for Ritche only. Well, the magic of computers, you can do a reverse image search, and you’ll most likely find it.
