Great location in downtown Toronto, Wonderful staff, clean rooms and great selection of items during breakfast. My new place abode while traveling to Toronto!

Convenient downtown location. Staff were courteous with the few requests we had, and rewards members are likely to get the appropriate perks that come with their tiers. This hotel, as with many others in Ontario, includes the DMF/​DMP/​TIF in the bill, but removed it when asked. Breakfast is complimentary with this brand, and it was decent for hotel breakfast food. We would stay again.

This was probably one of my FAVEEEE hotels I have stayed at Downtown! Their «complementary» breakfast is absolutely amazing and has SOOO many things to choose from. Usually when you go to a hotel that has a comp breakfast there isn’t much of a variety and things don’t look too fresh or appetizing either and their breakfast is THE BEST hotel breakfast I’ve gotten. Their customer service is exceptional and they treat you like family! I noticed more elderly people the times we stayed but they are friendly as heck! The rooms having a kitchen is absolutely amazing because even staying for the weekend you don’t have food wasting because you have a way to warm it up and store it. If you don’t want to spend money on food then you can cook! There is a Longo’s not too far from the hotel and a Sobey’s as well. Downstairs right in front of the hotel there is a Quiznos’s, convenience store and Starbucks. Around the corner there’s a Tim Hortan’s, Boston Pizza, and almost anything you would want to get delivered you can because it’s in so many different restaurants district for delivery. I definitely recommend this place based on location, service, and price.

Great! Thanks to Roxanne and Matthew for helping me get a conference room, you guys were very cool and accommodating. And so was Bri, at the breakfast area. The only weird thing was that the door guy put me in the wrong car after I checked out. That was a weird, costly screw-​up for me but maybe I should have asked if he was my driver. I’ll share the fault on that. Overall, very accommodating, clean, awesome hotel for my first stay in Toronto.

I’ve experienced a lot interesting problems in hotels; however, it’s rare that the management is the reason for a bad review of a hotel.
The actual room was very nice and comfortable, the door staff and cleaning people were very friendly, but on multiple occasions I had very awkward experiences with management.
1) I went down to ask a question at the front desk and waited for over a minute while everyone was busy counting money on the counter. The manager finally looked up and raised his eyebrows as if to queue me that I was allowed to speak. I asked if it was possible to have a late checkout the following day and he said «It’s All-​Star Weekend so we’re not doing that.» and then walked away. Well, I guess that’s one way to give me my answer.
2) On our last morning, the cleaning staff came into the room THREE times because management told them «we checked out» even though each time we reminded them we weren’t going anywhere until the normal check-​out time at noon. Nothing more awkward than being walked in on while you’re in your underwear for the 3^rd time while the cleaning staff was simply following marching orders. They felt bad and we were embarrassed.

Do yourself a favor and goto one of the dozens of other hotels in the area where the management takes care of their guests and takes care of their staff.

We stayed at this location just after Thanksgiving. I’ve stayed at a few different Residence Inns in different locations. This location did not disappoint. The location was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. While there were a few negatives, none of them were a deal breaker. The hotel has a great pool area. The fitness center is kind of attached. The fitness center could have been a bit more spacious but it did its job. The breakfast had a good variety and selection. The eating area is small and gets quite crowded over the weekend. But we grabbed our food and took it to our room so it didn’t bother us. The bathroom in our room was a little bit small in the way it was set up but again it was still fine.
I’d most definitely stay in this location again.

Stayed here few weekends ago, bid on priceline and got the room under $ 100.not bad! Location is central and hotel is okay. Was pleasantly surprised with my room because it came with and full kitchen and also living area sort of. Also had complimentary breakfast in the morning.
I would have given it 4 star if they offered complimentary toothbrush and toothpaste as most hotels do.

My husband and I came to this hotel for a anniversary getaway for 1 night. We were hoping for a room with a view of the CN tower but they couldn’t accommodate that as they were limited to rooms with that view due to the new condo that was built behind the hotel that covered the CN tower. We were still very pleased as we were upgraded to a suite for free as my husband is a Marriott rewards member. We were on the 19^th floor which was very nice. The hotel itself was very nice and clean and the staff was very friendly. The mini kitchenette in the room comes in very handy also.
Complimentary breakfast was ok, the variety of food was good. Only thing I wasn’t a fan of were the chicken sausages. They didn’t look very appetizing at all.
We went down to the pool area and hung out in the hot tub for a while also which was nice.
Parking is $ 50 at this hotel, which is a bit ridiculous. We parked at the public parking lot at the corner of Wellington and Blue Jays way (which is literally a 2 min walk) for $ 25 from 4pm the day we arrived until 12pm the next day.
Only real complaint was that the heating system made a lot of noise at night which made it a little hard to sleep. Other then that I would most likely come back to this hotel.

My family and I stayed a day at this hotel in 8÷13÷15 and although we enjoyed the stay it lacked several things. We were upgraded to a suite which was nice and the room was cleaned and had a mini kitchen, refrigerator and small living room. The bed was super comfortable and nice bathroom. Location was very close to the CN tower and 2 blocks to the dome where the baseball games take place. we literally walked 3 min and we were in our room. However, it lacked on air conditioning. Two disapointments were the air conditioner was not as cold and the hot tub by the pool was awfully cold. Other than those two things I would recommend this hotel. A bit pricey but worth it for a suite not sure for a room.

I have traveled to multiple countries and across the USA & this was the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. The concierge checking us in couldn’t find our reservation, because he kept spelling our name wrong. Then got the manager out to tell us they basically gave our room away. The hotel had a 4PM check-​in policy, but it did not say anywhere (online, posted, or via our Expedia reservation) that failure to check in by 6PM would result in forfeiture of our room. We were upset but not loud or rude in trying to question the manager on this. It was a busy weekend (Caribana) and they obviously sold out (and presumably overbooked). The manager could not or would not answer our questions and kept saying to just call Expedia. We just drove 9+ hours from Boston. This wasn’t helpful. The manager was Matthew Chung. I can now say I will never book with Marriott again. We luckily found a helpful staff at the Hilton around the corner.

The best location if you’re a baseball fan, or just want to explore the city. The floor to ceiling windows in the restaurant lookout into Blue Jay’s Stadium, as do some of the bedroom accommodations. Walking distance to great shops, the Centre Island Ferry, CN Tower, and so much more. Customer service is great, though I felt the staff was stretched a little thin at the Arriba Lounge. Great family vacation!

This is one of the best values and a great hotel to stay in when traveling to Toronto. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!!! It is within 2 blocks of the CN Tower and all of the high profile tourist spots. During our stay we walked EVERYWHERE and felt safe. There were plenty of other people out and about and plenty of eateries and shops along each street. The subway is only 2 blocks away as well and so transportation is no issue here.
Upon arrival the staff members were professional, courteous and very engaged with us as we checked into the hotel. We asked for directions to specific locations and they were fully informed on the locations and ways to get there. I was very impressed with this because oftentimes – sadly – the staff at other hotels we have stayed in are uninformed or have no knowledge of the general area as if they were hired from out of town and just plopped down into the hotel to work their shift.
The room we stayed in was very clean & decorated nicely with a beautiful view that we did not pay extra for. We had a small kitchenette that came in handy. The breakfast was a very tasty buffet with plenty of choices.
At one point we needed additional bedding and were told by housekeeping that we would need to go through the front desk to make a request. I was unexpected startled as I thought we could just ask the employee who was right there cleaning rooms with the linen cart down the hall. However I realize that they probably have a rule that she is NOT to make special accommodations for any guests. We did go to the front desk and make the request & all was taken care of.
Overall I could tell that the staff is well-​trained. This is a great location to stay in, close to everything, reasonable price, you will feel spoiled!
Kudos to the Management!

My wife and I stayed here on vacation. I would rate this as one of the better Residence Inn for the rooms. Spacious and new. Well kept. But, the staff… Very young, very inexperienced and we sadly found out that the weekends are college party nights in the hotel. Kids everywhere, even the lobby drinking their cheap beer and wine coolers. Empty cans abound, smoking pot outside the entrance. Not a place for family or us older folks to feel safe. A shame as I am a lifetime platinum member at Marriott and have never experienced something like this at any of their properties before. But, I guess you need to make money and if this makes them money, well, they don’t need my type here.

The hotel’s location is great. The hotel itself is great. But it’s the Valet Staff that makes me give this poor rating. They are rude. They yell at you for leaving your car while you’re checking in. They yell at you for taking your car out. They don’t like it if you stop in for an hour or two knowing that they have to pull the car back out. Also overnight parking fee is RIDICULOUS! $ 47!!! You must thing you’re in midtown Manhattan!
Also, I don’t know if this is a Canadian custom, but all the staff corrects their guest. I’m a Marriott Platinum Member. I think I know how those key cards work — I didn’t earn my status without practice. But when I ask for a new key because it won’t work, got an ear full about how to not to demagnetize them. Then later, got another long explanation of why there are no stairs for guests in this building.

We stayed here for my bachelorette. The king bed suite was very spacious. No complaints about the room. I did find it weird though that the bathtub toilet side is separated by a door from the sink. It might be because the sink is for vanity but it’s weird to me. The staff are ok but the breakfast staff were a bit inattentive. Breakfast is blah — it’s what you’d expect from a continental one for a hotel. Overall it’s ok if you get a good deal but I wouldn’t go out of my way to stay there.

Beautiful and spacious studio! We got a great deal otherwise it can be pretty pricey! The only thing I did not like was the room temperature. It can be control but it felt like the room never really cooled off. Even setting it at 65 °F it was still warm in there.

This is a pretty good long stay corporate hotel. I stayed in a smaller room and I still had plenty of living space, bed space, big bathroom (or washroom, eh).
Staff was super nice. Elevators are a bit of a drag when busy, but, other than that, a good hotel.

So far, my experience here has been a mess. The hotel itself looks great — we even got a real good deal. But we are frozen and shaking and the heat isn’t working in mine and my friends’ rooms. We called front desk an hour ago for assistance & were told a maintenance guy would come up. No one showed. We called back and someone came up to drop us off blankets. We asked where the maintenance guy was and he said he had already left for the night. Can’t wait to never come back here.

I think this is probably one of the best hotels in the downtown area. All the staff here were super friendly, and I love that this place provides a free hotel breakfast — the food is pretty good too! I stayed here in a suite on a Friday night and it was pretty affordable — I believe it was around $ 125 for a night. The suite was really nice too, and had a bed, pull-​out bed/​couch, and even a kitchen area with a fridge! The location of the hotel is pretty good too, it’s just a short walk away from the Roger’s Centre (one block south) as well as the Entertainment District (about 2 blocks north). I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

I am giving this four stars. The room was typical and I had no complaints other than the sofa bed was crap. Other than that it was fine. It was quiet and the elevators were efficient in moving people in and out. The staff was nice to deal with the WiFi was great. And I love that there was always coffee at the entry way. My only complaints were the parking prices which were unacceptable even by Toronto standards and the free breakfast they presented. I just can’t eat cheap hot dogs for ‘sausages’ and pretend they are the real thing. Many of the dishes presented on the morning buffet were clearly mass produced frozen crap. I did like that despite the full bookings of the hotel we got in and out of the buffet without much wait. While I am a fan of trying different place in the spirit of adventure, I would try them again without hesitation

Understaffed. Overpriced. Cheap fixtures in bathroom. Cheap and loud fan in bathroom. Ok for a motel 6, but I paid $ 229 per night this weekend. Breakfast was terrible. Not enough room to feed the guests. Location is good but there are a million hotels nearby and this one will not get another visit from me. Valet parking was $ 49, $ 20 self park is almost as easy right next door.
Hire more staff you cheapskate owners. Maids were running hard!

Great rooms. Big and clean although bathroom taps were backwards so I had a drink or two of warm water.
Lobby is narrow and hard to navigate when it’s busy and crowded.
I forgot my charger and they actually held for it instead of pretending they didn’t have it (unlike another hotel who told me they didn’t find a pair of sleep pants I left behind… creepy).
Parking is ridiculous…$ 47 for valet. I self park across the street under the SOHO for $ 35 and walk over.
Breakfast is typical of a free hotel breakfast.
All in all, not too bad.

This Residence Inn is at an awesome location. It is a few blocks from the CN tower and the Roger’s Centre. During our trip we were able to visit both and it took us only a 10 – 15 minutes walk.
The hotel has a very friendly and attentive valet parking staff. They make the service really easy because they give you a ticket and when you need your car, you can just call the front desk for them to pull your car out front of the hotel by the time you are ready to leave the hotel. Unfortunately the cost of this service is $ 40, and thats not including the $ 5 tax that they charge on top of the $ 40. It is ridiculously expensive!
Our neighbors during half of our trip were crazy loud. It was very frustrating. Unfortunately there is really nothing the hotel can do about it so we did not even bother to call to complain.
The maid staff here was very helpful and friendly. Our room was located directly across from the maid area so we were able to refill out stock of paper towels and toilet paper without having to get daily housekeeping.
The hotel also offered free breakfast everyday. We did not try any of the breakfast, but a lot of people were always in the lobby area to eat so I’m assuming it was good.
The hotel has wifi throughout the building, but it was very spotty in areas of our room. I could only sit in certain spots to get decent wifi coverage.
The complaints I have about this hotel is that #1 – we saw a roach in our room – it hid in the microwave vents; #2 – the staff working the front desk NEVER looked at us or greeted us in any way when we walked into the hotel. Other Residence Inns would welcome us with a smile or a hello – but not at this hotel. It made us feel unsafe as well since it appeared anyone could just walk into the hotel and have access to the rooms, especially since the elevators did not require key cards for usage.

Decided to book our stay at The Residence Inn by Mariott in Downtown Toronto during our visit to Toronto this Summer because of all of the great reviews and I’m happy to say it was an excellent choice. Loved that this hotel offered a fully-​equipped kitchen in each suite, complimentary wifi, and complimentary breakfast.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by Amanat, who was very friendly and welcoming. She always had a smile on her face. She was able to give us a room that I requested– High floor, away from the elevators, with a view of the CN Tower. After a very smooth and quick check-​in, we found ourselves in our room in less than 10 minutes.
The Room:
Very clean and attractive. We loved our suite! We stayed in Room #1912, and had an amazing and unobstructed view of the CN tower from our window. The king-​sized bed was very comfortable, however the pull-​out sofabed in the living room was not as comfortable as we hoped for. It was very thin and springy– I would recommend requesting extra sheets/​blankets or pillows to make for a softer bed. The kitchen included a full-​sized refrigerator, which we stocked with water and snacks. It was nice that everything you needed– dish ware, glassware, and microwave was available for use. Note: A sponge is provided in the kitchen, but there isn’t any dish-​washing liquid for you to use.
Breakfast:
The complimentary buffet breakfast that was served until 11AM was a definite plus! Do go early around 8AM before it gets too crowded. They serve a variety of foods each day: Scrambled eggs, Sausage, Bacon, Potatoes, Pancakes, Cereals, Muffins, Toast, Bagels, Oatmeal, Coffee, Tea, Juice, etc. I believe that you’re able to bring food back to your room as well, which is great.
Gym/​Pool Facilities:
Gym is very small, can be full at certain times of the day– 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical machine, 1 stationary bike. There are also weights (limited), a BOSU ball, and mats available. Pool is also on the small side, and usually filled with children. There is also a jacuzzi and a business center with printers available for use.
Pros:
— Great Location (Walking distance to Chinatown, Queen St., King St. and the CN Tower and nearby attractions Rogers Centre, etc.)
— Complimentary Buffet Breakfast
— Fully-​equipped kitchen with full-​sized refrigerator
— Complimentary and reliable WiFi Service
— Friendly Staff
— Very clean
Cons:
— Became very crowded on the weekend, especially since it was during Caribana weekend. The downstairs lobby was full of groups of people loitering inside and outside of the building at night and blocking the main entrance.
— Slow elevator service, as there are only 3 elevators. During my stay only 2 elevators were working, which meant long waits and packed elevators.
— Sofabed was not very comfortable
Overall, we were very happy with our stay. Would recommend this hotel for those traveling in big groups and families with children. Would love to stay here again the next time we’re in Toronto.

I think others have pretty much nailed the experience of this place. Hotel is very nice and the rooms are fantastic. I have stayed at the Hilton and Hyatt in downtown Toronto previously and this one will win my business moving forward. The rooms are spacious — well decorated — and the bed just sucks you in. The staff was very helpful even at 4:30 in the morning when I was arranging my ride to the airport.
They have social hour with a free food bar a couple days a week. The food was pretty good for a hotel. The free breakfast is your typical set-​up but nothing special.
The rooms sell this place over and over!
