Perfect Threading & Beauty Salon

Used to be a decent place to get eyebrows & upper lip threading done at a fair price. Now they have jacked up their prices by 30−40% overnight and it’s simply not worth it.
There are places that can do better jobs, in a much nicer/​cleaner environment for the same price or lower.
The value proposition here was good price, decent work. They’ve taken away the good price, and so why would you overpay for decent work?

Oh my god. This place totally butchered my eyebrows. Freaking asymmetrical. I don’t even want to fill in my eyebrows anymore.

Just called their place right now, and was greeted on the phone with a quiet «hello?». Not sure if I called a wrong number, I had to ask if I was calling Perfect Threading, and the woman on the phone said yes. I asked her a few questions on eyebrows and henna, cost, etc, and as soon as I said the word «okay» she assumed that was the end of the conversation and quickly hung up on me. Furious, I called back and was greeted with the same rude «hello». «So do you greet the customer properly or do you answer the phone as if it was your own cellphone? And you just hung up on me as well.» I said. She remained monotone and answered the rest of my questions. Just by seeing how much they «care» about their customers on the phone and how they dont know how to properly run a business, I won’t even waste my time on this place.

I am not picky, and I get my eyebrows threaded monthly. However, I was not pleased with the threading I received here. I told her I only needed a little clean-​up. She changed the shape of my brows, she made them too thin. Also, she left a patch. I had to point it out to her. She did not like that. I would not recommend this place, even if it’s convenient.

OK, so, let’s review their 2 cheif services: threading and waxing.
1. Threading for face/​eyebrows: love it! fast, efficient, gentle and great results. True, she didn’t ask what shape I wanted, but frankly she just cleaned up my eyebrows and then asked if I want more — which is perfect! (she didn’t change the shape, is what I’m getting at). went twice, so had both the younger and the older lady. Older lady is more thorough, and therefore more painful.
2. Waxing: yes, this ain’t no fancy salon and I know of a much better salon in the core that has an entirely painless wax. But this place is ½ the price (Not sure where someone got the $ 80 cost as mine wasn’t that at all). The quality is good (if you’re not new to waxing and know how to hold/​stretch) and I felt everything was sanitary and clean.
I’m a fan — I will return for all the services.
Oh yeah — and this is not a fancy place! If you want to have free water and ambient music and comfortable chairs, this ain’t it. But in the core, that will run you twice the cost and will take twice as long! These ladies are effective, good, sanitary and fast. Don’t expect fancy for the $$ you’re paying.

I wanted experience threading my eyebrows. So I went to this place in my neighbourhood. After my visit my eyebrows was itchy. I was scratching like crazy. I had go home and wash my face. I don’t think I would return.

Overall, I am a fan of this place because they are the most efficient place I have ever been to. The lady I saw today did both of my brows in under a minute, with the perfect shape, and waxed my underarms in just a few more… perfect for ladies on the go who need an in-​and-​out on a lunch break.
I would give this place 5 stars, except for a few things: 1) The place is slightly unsanitary. I think this is the result of it being somewhat older. But it’s not horrible — just don’t expect a brand new 5-​star spa. 2) The woman who threaded/​waxed me was somewhat rude. I felt as if I was being hustled the entire time. After she waxed me, I needed a second to gather myself and she kept rushing me to get off the table so she could change the paper. I can understand the urgency if there were a line of customers out the door, but it was really only me. I am not sure what the rush was but it was very unnerving. 3) Price is expensive. 4) They advertise eyelash extensions (mink?) but when you inquire, they say they don’t do it anymore.
All said, I would go here again. It’s very fast and they do a decent job.

The salon was dirty feeling. The lady doing my brow threading was very rough and my eyebrows are uneven and not the same shape :(.
Sorry, but I did not like my experience there. As I look to Unilocal reviews for advice, I thought it would be good to write.

I get my eyebrows threaded by Dolly and she is very good. Dolly always does a good job of keeping the shape of my brows nicely arched. Always with a smile on her face, Dolly is a pleasure to see and I recommend her.
I like that hand sanitizer is kept at each threading station and the chairs are also very comfortable. Walk-​ins are welcome and you generally don’t have to wait for more than 15 minutes.

Waxing is not good here! The atmosphere felt old and dirty and extremely painful. It was my first time ever and i was lucky this didn’t scar me for life!
The lady used the ENTIRE strip to do my brazilian wax. i never felt so much pain in my life. I was bleeding afterwards as well. I’ve done brazilian for the same price at other places since then and it’s night and day comparison.
My co-​workers swear by this place for threading so i thought that waxing would be no different but no no no. even when you read the reviews — threading is good. but not waxing.

I am addicted to threading now. Not the process. And certainly not the kind of places that offer this service. But the results are dreamy. Maybe it’s in my brown genes. Maybe Pakistani eyebrows just can’t be tamed any other way. Who knows!
Like every place that I have been to for threading services, this is a one room brown town initiative. A lot of gossip in Urdu and Hindi. No regard for my concerns about how to shape my eyebrows. They just push you into a swivel chair (same one used for hair cutting) and begin working on them. Gossiping as they painfully pluck hairs from my face. My quiet murmurs of pain are acknowledge with mild mockery.
The results are nice, of course. If I could find an Aveda or a Pure+Simple that did threading or even a place that acknowledged that I was the client, I would go there instead. But for now, «perfect» threading and beauty it is.

I did a quick look on Unilocal before I went to Perfect Threading and Beauty Salon for a brazillian and other waxing needs and I really wished I sifted through the FILTERED REVIEWS before I committed to this, because the aggregated four star on this page is purely for threading eyebrows and not for all the other services this salon offers.
The waxing done here is unsanitary and unprofessional, and worst of all PAINFUL. The woman who did my waxing clearly was never trained on how to wax and was just doing it like she would be doing waxing at home for herself. It was soooo painful and I’ve never EVER experienced pain like this before anywhere else. The room she led me in had a bed against the wall and didnt give you any room to stretch so you can tighten the skin. She just smeared wax on you and pulled with a strip, many times. A day after I got home, I had a pus-​filled cyst on my leg thanks to her waxing.
There is a review that got filtered by a woman who had the same experience as me. She left half way because she couldnt stand the pain anymore, which brought her to tears. This salon charged her «HALF» anyway for $ 28. WTF.
This brings me to the point that this place is NOT CHEAP at all. First off, eyebrow threading – $ 8 is pretty NORMAL for downtown. $ 3 if you go to Scarborough for Rexdale. And I paid $ 80 + $ 2 tip, which was my way of being generous to the tipping because I shouldn’t even have had to pay given the unsanitary and unprofessional services here. Needless to say, the job wasn’t even clean.
So many bad reviews for this place got filtered (some good ones) that seem pretty legit. I’d read through the filtered reviews if you plan on coming here anyway and then decide.
DON’T GET WAXED HERE!

The ladies here are quick and efficient whether you want them to thread your eye brows (Hello perfect arches) or you’re there for a waxing. I’ve been out of there in under 12 minutes from start to finish when there wasn’t a line up of people waiting. It’s best to go during the off hours (i.e. not at lunch, or after work). Bonus: the punch card, so ten services earns you a free round of eyebrow threading.
It doesn’t make the five star cut because they don’t ask if you want to alter the arch of your eyebrows or if you have allergies/​preferences when waxing, nor do they dust you off after. It’s an almost perfect experience.

I went to Perfect Threading & Beauty Salon for eyebrow threading. The place was pretty small but clean. I was immediately greeted by a friendly lady who did my eyebrows right away. The threading went by very quickly and the end results were pretty good. For $ 8 I think it is a good price and good service. I would go back here again.

This place is awesome, so cheap and yet they give you a frequent shopper punch card for a free service, really! I wish I was blessed with easy to maintain brows, but no such luck. I have never had as nice shape to them as when these ladies get at me with the spool.

I thought I’d give this place a try as I just moved back to the area and needed a new threading place.
I typically get my eyebrows and upper lip threaded ($ 11 on Wednesdays!). The price is definitely right and they do an excellent job. I love the fact that I can just drop in and can be done in about 15 minutes. The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is because they don’t quite thread as clean as I’d like them too. I will typically find a few hairs that they have missed.

I read the reviews before heading down to Perfect Threading so I was a bit apprehensive but at the same time really needed some brow and lip action… so I threw my flag to the wind and decided to give PT a chance.
I was impressed with the threading here. The lady who did mine didn’t ask me what shape or anything she just sat me down and went to work. She herself had those beautifully perfect middle-​eastern eyebrows (you know the ones because you probably want them too!) so I felt confident in her shaping abilities. They came out great — no stray hairs, and not too thin. They really know how to do brows here.
The cons: well I can only think of one con and I may only be thinking of it because it was mentioned already… but it is true, there is no after-​threading-​face-​wiping action going on here. You may have to spend an extra $ 5.00 somewhere else for that kind of service. They do offer you a tissue to wipe your face though. for the price I can make do!
If you go to their website you can print off coupons. Also, everyday they have services discounted. Eyebrows and lip cost about 15.00 after tax.
All in all, I feel like a girl again so am happy with the results! Happy threading!

I LOVE this place. I hadn’t touched my brows since I last wrote a review and they looked like fuzzy caterpillars until I strolled on in.
On their website they have daily deals and on Wednesday they have an eyebrows and upper lip combo for $ 11. The woman that serviced me thought it was funny that I referred to it as a «deal» but it totally was! Forget deal, it’s a steal! (It’s also a combo — you can kind of mix and match, but I’ll stick with the original combo.)
Again, absolutely painless (how do they do it?) and absolutely perfect brows. They’re not out there to shape them, just clean them up, and for that, I can relax the moment I lie down in the chair.
I also noticed that they have henna for $ 5 (I plan on going one day just for that) and massages that are $ 1 a minute, for 15 or 30 minutes/​dollars. To date, that is the best deal I have seen in the city, but no sign of RMT license.
The ladies who work here are as nice as can be and smile so much. On my way out I was wished «a GREAT day» at least four times. Thanks!
Bollywood and aloe cream still reign supreme at this place. I am fiercely loyal to Perfect Threading.

Quite frankly, most places that have adjectives in the title outright blow. «Yummy Sandwiches» usually translates to «two slices of cardboard with turd filling» and «Happy Hungarian» usually boasts the most bleak and despondent employees I’ve seen this side of the Cold War, know what I mean?
Perfect Threading thankfully lives up to its name — my brows look perfect. What keeps this from being a five star review is the fact that it was quite painful and took about ten minutes longer than expected. I’ve been getting my brows threaded for years in Rexdale (for $ 3 might I add) and it never takes more than 1 – 2 minutes. Those girls are experts.
The girl who threaded my brows wasn’t nearly as fast, and even her hair-​culling technique was slow and drawn out. When you remove a band-​aid, you do it quickly, yeah? Imagine it being slowly pulled away from the surface of your skin… and then repeat that several dozen times for this threading transaction. I was weepy afterwards. My guess is that I could pluck my eyebrows in that amount of time.
Also lacking was post-​threading cleanup. A brush to the face or Kleenex to wipe up the debris would have been nice. I did appreciate the aloe rubdown though.
I’ll be back, but only if I can’t get a ride to Rexdale.

This spot really is as good as it gets for a threadjob downtown. Easily accessible, no appointments required, clean space, and non-​stop Hindi dance fever on TV. I was in and out in ten minutes flat.
Don’t expect any frills or small talk. A brush (instead of tissue) to wipe my forehead afterwards would have been nice. But, whatever, I’ve got $ 8 downtown brows and they’ve got a repeat customer in me.
Make sure to grab an eyebrow threading dealy card from them: 9 visits and your 10^th time is for free.
