The store is okay but the staff is less then friendly. I went in to buy something that I knew they had after researching it online. I asked the owner about accessories for the item and when he would start carrying them. He insisted that the company does not make accessories. I told him about my research and he still insisted that the company did not make accessories. I had to pull up the company’s website on my phone and show him. His story then changed and he said the he would be getting the accessories in the spring. I don’t see why you need to be argumentative with your customers especially when you can get most stuff online now.

This store is fantastic and the owner is friendly and knowledgable. After having a negative experience at Degrees up north on Yonge, I took my business here.

Albert was incredibly helpful… This store is for the inspired gourmet artiste in all of us; not a commercial supplier, Peppermills lends a personal touch to your culinary needs. If you need it in the kitchen, Albert has the best available in stock. I used to go to Kitchen Stuff plus, but this place takes the cookie cutter approach(pun intended?) to your kitchen necessities out of the equation.

This store has moved to a bright, clean location at Yonge St. just south of Eglinton on the West side. I was there today and the gentleman who owns the store was very kind to me, showing me some cool gadgets. One was something I already own so I know he is correct(a heavy handheld lemon squeezer). The other item was something I was sooooo tempted to buy(a mandolin) but I’ll wait until next time I pop by there. He’s still unpacking boxes and setting up — I’d say 80% ready. There are TONS of things to browse and buy and everything is top quality keep-forever stuff. I just read the other two Unilocal reviews here and one was very positive, yet only 3 stars were given. The other was mildly negative(bitter, I thought, considering what really happened) and a cruel 1 star was given. I have been a Peppermill customer for about 17 years. When I had my first job I set up my first kitchen with many items purchased at the now-closed Hazelton location. I hope my 5 stars(and a few other nice customers doing the same) can help bring Peppermill’s Unilocal score up to where it should be, which is around 4.5 stars.
