Pearle Vision

Pearle Vision has closed a lot of their locations down and opened a few, but I would have to give a give a very stern warning if you plan to go here to have anything beyond a basic and very light prescription glasses done.
While I appreciated their customer service, Pearle Vision could not get any lense properly made that is not remotely curved or for any frame made in the last two decades. The problem is that Pearle Vision get their lense done from a third party contractor which do a very a poor job in making a proper lense that fit for even a frame that is not that complicated.
I had them botched lenses on a very simple wire frame lense (which is the easiest to make), and Ray Ban plastic frames which is a little more complicated but something any optical store could make lenses for. I had one of my lenses redone 3-​times and the other twice and I am still not completely satisfied.
To put a long story short they botched the lenses for both of my frames which didn’t follow the curve of the frame and was extremely ill fitting and not worth the money even with both my insurance reimbursement and their in-​store promotions.
If you want great glasses/​sunglasses and prescription lenses there are so many excellent places that deserve your business.

I used to use the Pearle Vision at Yonge & Temperance until it closed early in 2012. That location was terrific, so I was hoping to get good service at this location. I had recently been assaulted, which caused my glasses frame to break, and was just looking for the same frame since the lenses were in good shape.
The staff here was fantastic. They immediately asked me to see the eye doctor on site to ensure that my eyes hadn’t been damaged from the assault while they got the frame, the doctor was very attentive and took the incident more seriously than I did, as I did not consider that my eyes would have been injured.
All the while, the staff gave me a great rate on the frame, accounting for the incident that they had nothing to do with nor did I even ask for a discount! They took a really terrible incident and did all they could to help me out when, frankly, I didn’t expect them to. Well done to the staff here, I hope they’re properly appreciated by their employers.
