We were driving around again on Gerard looking for late night eats and found this spot. It’s funny because the sign on the outside isn’t the same for the restaurant — «Ally Baba». My husband said he grabbed a biriyani from here before and it wasn’t bad, pretty good. He’s got a pretty high standard for food so I went with it. Anyhow it’s definitely a take out joint as washrooms are hideous from what my son says. We ordered a simple tikka boti and naan and a leg of tandoori chicken. It was horrible — like I took a bite out of it and I could tell it was refried(not tandoor baked) and it had zero flavour and a stale taste. I just threw it in the garbage. The boti was below average but a bit better than the leg, the naan was average. I can’t believe they served me that chicken. I’ve rarely just thrown food out unfinished.

The absolute best take-out on Gerrard. Portions are a tad small, but the food is top notch. You can ask for dishes mild to extra spicy, and extra spicy is real, legitimate spice, without compromising flavour. My recommendations: lamb roghan josh, lamb korma, chicken jalfrezi. The only downside(and this is a tiny factor) is that their debit/credit machine tends to break a lot, so some days are cash-only.

Great service and food. Awesome chicken vindaloo and palak paneer. Prices are reasonable.

This place is awesome! Loved the food(chicken biryani is a must try for $ 5.99) and it is not going to hurt your wallet whatsoever. I always go here for good Indian food, and they can serve the foods very hot if you ask(a big plus for me!) Overall, this place is well recommended!
