History
Established in 1970.
Neill-Wycik first opened its doors to students on August 15, 1970. The initiative to create Neill-Wycik started in 1966 and was spearheaded by Kathy Whalen and a small group of motivated Ryerson students. The goal of the co-op back then was to provide affordable student accommodations and offer a student controlled environment in which they could develop.
Hotel
The backpackers hotel occupies 17 floors of the Neill-Wycik student residence. Accommodations are ‘apartment style’ — all bedrooms are in apartments containing 4 or 5 bedrooms, sharing 2 washrooms and a kitchen/common area. It’s a great way to meet new people while you travel! We have private single, twin, triple, and quad rooms available. We also have mixed dorm rooms available throughout the summer.
