I had a great experience at Morba this weekend — above and beyond customer service! We stopped in as they were closing up and found a vintage bar cart that we thought would be good for a TV stand. There were some quirky things with the way the casters were attached, and all of the employees were talking with us and giving ideas of the best way to handle it. They normally don’t accept returns on vintage items, but agreed that we could return the item the next day if it didn’t work for us(the piece ended up being great so we did not need to return). After we made the purchase, my boyfriend went to get the car so I was waiting in front of the store when the employees were locking up and leaving. There were some strange guys on the street outside of the store, and two of the Morba employees stayed with me to make sure I was safe until my boyfriend drove the car around — it had to be 10 – 15 minutes. It was extremely nice of them to take time out of their own Saturday night, after a long day of work to hang around with me until I was safely in the car and they were both really nice about it. Anyway, the collection in the store seemed really cool and had a lot of unique stuff — can’t wait to go back! Thank you!!!

I’m in the hunt for a good quality unique bedside lamp and these guys have a great range from mid to high price points. I’d say they’re affordable because the merchandise is very beautiful and there are a lot of vintage pieces. A good balance of modern and antique. The staff are also very helpful.

I love the great selection of items at Morba. They have awesome mid century reproductions and vintage pieces. I have started purchasing things regularly for my apartment. I love that the staff says hello but gives you time to brows. The customer service is wonderful. After purchasing a vintage chair it became damaged after a couple of weeks. It was no fault of their own. It was one of a kind and I was deeply disappointed. They gladly let me take it in and had it repaired within a few days. I will definitely be back to purchase more!

I haven’t had the pleasure to purchase anything here, so I cannot comment on their customer service, billing, or delivery/ordering department. However visually, Morba speaks to my inner interior decorator! I particularly love mid-century modern and this place has it — both repro and authentic. If you’re into light fixtures(they carry Le Klint, sputnik chandeliers, & other neat stuff), seating, or vintage knick knacks, this is the place too. If, like me, Morba is design NOT within reach, the store is definitely worth browsing. I didn’t have any problems with the sales staff. They will probably ask if you need help, but otherwise leave you alone. :) Happy browsing/day dreamin’!

This place is awesome. I will always be a Morba customer. They have everything for your household decorating need and always in stock with friendly sales people and quality merchandise. If you have never gone I recommend going.

I had a terrible experience with Morba earlier this year. I have not gone back in since, and never will. The details: 1. Ordered a desk 2. First delivery attempt was over an hour late outside the window suggested with no call on a Friday night 3. They dropped off one wrong piece(the top was for a large table!) 4. Called to complain, assured the swap would be fine 5. New top arrives, does not fit desk bottom 6. Take pictures and email /call to complain, ask for something for my trouble(Delivery charge was $ 65, which I got for convenience — so far, not very) 7. Guys brought over new desk top to try and make something work — turns out they didn’t have any more full sets in stock. Promised gift certificate which never comes. 8. New top doesn’t work and so they take it away to fix it 9. Delivery of fixed top(yes, this is now the THIRD delivery window I have been expected to be at home for) — yes, this works 10. Gift certficate for my trouble? $ 30 bucks. Gift certifiCANT. I never once received a call from someone other than front line staff who were pretty non-chalant about their incompetence. There are far too many other independents in Toronto to shop at to really be worried I’m missing out on anything other than bad service by not ever going into Morba again.

I love this store; they have an eclectic selection of both modern and retro chairs, lamps, miscellany etc, and I must say I’ve spent a huge chunk of my decorating budget here. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, which makes it even easier to keep coming back. One of the best in the city.

This place has really stepped their game up over the last year or two. It used to be piled so high and deep with«junk»(actually great pieces that looked junky just heaped together) that it was difficult to maneuver through it, let alone shop! They must have hired a new visual merchandiser(and rumor has it there is a new owner) because my visit there this past weekend was a real treat. The formerly piled-up back room is now nicely edited, but by no means is the store sparse. They have managed to maintain that eclectic thrift-store look while giving the place the touch of professionalism it needed. Good thing too, as they risk alienating their current customer-base with a complete overhaul, IMHO. The collection they were showing has stepped up in quality as well. They are showing a mixture of different styles, but mostly vintage and reproduction mid-century modern pieces. Walnut is really having a moment right now, and they certainly are capitalizing on it: walnut shelving; walnut headboards; walnut side table; walnut dining sets. It’s beautiful(albeit a little dark for my taste), and the matching finishes really gives the store that«cohesive» look that it was lacking before. It was my first time there on a Saturday, and boy — was it busy! Still got a cheerful hello from the staff, but no direct hands-on help. I suppose that’s typical, as we were obviously just browsing. Past experience here(not this trip) allows me to pass this info on: if you are really interested in something, ask about it. It’s likely a reproduction, and they can probably get it in another colour/finish/etc… Not sure if the pricing of vintage pieces is firm. Going to attempt to haggle on a(vintage) piece of art I saw there. Look for an update!

I had to look at Chris and Erin’s pictures so I could cut them a bit of slack when they called the resale offerings here«deco.» They are both a generation younger than me so it is probably easy for them to confuse the styles of the 50’s and 60’s with those of the 20’s and 30’s. In any case, the vintage stuff here is not art deco, but mid-century modern(sometimes called«retro») for the most part. There are some lovely pieces but one can pick up similar by checking ebay or venturing into an antique mall in a rural area and spend a lot less. The modern offerings are largely repros of classic designs from the same period, like Noguchi tables. If you are into this look, I’d suggest picking up a few modern offerings and only splurging on the vintage stuff if there was something really special you could not see elsewhere.

This place is an antique store meets deco furniture store with a hint of garage sale. There is no sense of organization to the store as it just seems that as they get a new piece they just add it to the pile. There are some really cool older pieces and some new pieces, but either way they are littered with scattered junk too. I think this store would feel more at home in Kensington Market.

Horrible and rude service although I did find a great piece I don’t think I’d go back.

Not to be confused with Zorba, this place does not offer souvlaki on a stick or avgolemono soup, it’s a furniture store after all. Morba has a dreamy offering of deco pieces and I say dreamy because the prices are not for believing… in a bad way. When I go into the store I treat it like a museum whose art director is a curator’s nightmare, unable to use any form of discernment and packing in every piece he can. The store also has a selection of modern(not used) furniture which fits in with the deco designs and cute accoutrements(glassware, lamps, gift ideas etc.).
