Moog Audio

This store is pretty great. I’m a modular synth enthusiast and all I have to say is that the staff who know this are are nice to deal with and well informed. Ordering modules is a bit slow at times but the overall service makes up for that. Great return policy for things that don’t work out, usually credit but I don’t mind. I think it’s good that there’s a downtown shop bringing in modular products. Prices are decent and comparable to most other new gear shops.

What a bunch of jerks. The service staff at MOOG are full of exhausted white millennial narcissists, who don’t know the meaning of service in a service industry. The staff are the stereo typical prepy wannabees, who are full of it. Probably born in the 705. Service is job one in retail. Embarrassing a client because you can’t admit your wrong is just pedestrian. (Even if the client is wrong — which I wasn’t BTW). Take a page from your Guitar Tech in the back of the store you clowns. He’s the only normal person (and cool dude) working there. Your giving Queen West a bad name! AND TORONTO… go drink a latte somewhere and leave real artists to deal with the service of other real artists

Went to this place once. Never again.
I have never come across such slimy and rude staff in a music store in the city. These guys turned their noses up at me the minute I stepped in. I could barely get more than a few sentences out of the guy, he seemed more into playing around with keyboards. Too cool for school I guess. As a guitar player, I have heard on and on about their pedal selection and access to boutique gear. It’s not worth a cent of my money to support a place like this. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Very Rude people work in this establishment!
Called simply to ask if they had a particular pair of PA speakers in store to test prior to dropping $ 1200 plus taxes and all I got was «Nope.we don’t.» *crickets*. So I broke the awkward silence by asking «that’s it?!» and to my horror the guy, with the most disinterested tone goes «yup.what do you want me to do?»
Couldn’t believe my ears! So I responded «okay cool. I’ll take my business elsewhere.» No reaction either! Wow!
They’re overpriced & understocked with both products and professional people.
Piece of pure advice. if you don’t like what you do. leave! Don’t give the organization a bad name due to the lack of competence!

Somewhat rude. They only want to cater to DJs and audiophiles.
Steer clear if you’re a casual listener, go in if you’re a DJ.

Beware the rude hipster dufus wearing thick black rimmed glasses behind the counter. The first thing that came out of his mouth when asking about keyboards was attitude. He obviously never took a customer service course. FAIL!

I needed a microphone for a specific purpose and a specific musical instrument. I went to a random music store and explained myself, the staff suggested one of their best-​selling mics without really listening to me. I had tried that one before and wasn’t impressed, so I told him that and asked for something else but he was not able to give me much options. Fine. At least he was honest and said he didn’t know alot about mics and the instrument I was using, and also he did not try to sell me something I wasn’t happy with.
I then searched online and decided to visit Moog Audio.
At Moog, after I explained what I wanted to do, the staff offered some great advice (on something that I totally overlooked), as well as let me try the mics that he recommended.
Unfortunately the first mic that they let me try didn’t really strike me as being wonderful, but seeing my reaction he took out other mics, one of which he thought would suit my needs, and he was right. I tried that one and fell in love with it.
I was truly impressed with the way the staff treated my request.
When the first equipment he recommended did not work for me, not only did he went on to look for something else, he took the time to go into the details of my request and meet my needs, and he let me experiment until I was completely satisfied.

Slinky Records has moved out of the location so now the space is entirely music equipment. The selection has exploded and they now have loads of guitar gear and pedals, etc. Still the best gear store in Toronto.

Moog is a pretty rad music shop located on Queen Street West. They offer countless music related products. Instruments, amps, records, synthesizers, phatties, theremins, controllers, clothing and music merch galore! I am definitely not knowledgeable enough to know whether these products are reasonably priced, but the store looks very nice and rather techno savvy. I splurged on The Beastie Boys 1994 release Ill Communication which was remastered on double 180g gatefold vinyl. This album is beautifully pressed, has an amazing weight to it and sounds fantastic. The shop keep was very nice and we waxed hip hop for a bit while I paid for my merch. And if I ever quit my day job and pursue my dream of becoming a DJ, I would mos def visit Moog for my audio equipment needs.

Great shop. Bought headphones here. An excellent Audio Technica product that I’m happy with. They let you try out their products before you buy them. Staff are friendly and helpful. Most know quite a lot about audio products. Great prices compared to most other stores. Unfortunately they were out of a product that they sell and said they’d call me a certain day when it arrived but they never called me (and still haven’t). Either it hasn’t arrived or they forgot to call. I’ve called them once already to ask so I’m not calling again.
Overall, great place to shop for audio.

No longer catering to only the DJ/​turntable crew, Moog also carries «traditional» musical instruments and accessories. Guitars, amps, mics, and the most impressive selection of boutique guitar pedals in the city! Top notch!

Moog just makes me wish I had talent. Every time I go in and see the vinyl, the DJ t-​shirts, the turn-​tables, the microphones, the recording equipment, I just wish that I could spin a record or produce some decent techno. That is not the case.
Named after one of the pioneers in electronic musical equipment (which they also sell by the by), Moog has stacks of equipment for the DJ, producer, and sampler among you. Rows of turntables are available to take a record that you fancy for a spin and a scratch. It’s not just the electronic music fan that’ll find something here. They also sell guitars, microphones, and a sampling of video products, along with the samplers, sequencers, and things that go «tweet».
My brother is an amateur DJ and producer, so when I have to get him a present, I get to go shopping and feel a bit like a poser. So what, really. I get to play with the turntables.

Moog Audio is the absolute best spot for DJ equipment, tech rentals for parties and all the freshest gear if you’re into making music.
The staff are way friendlier than anywhere else and if they don’t carry it, they will definitely tell you where you can get it.
Like I said, helpful as hell.
Moog Audio is a Canadian company too, the flagship is in Montréal.
The best part is that they are great with girls. Most of these tech type joints are really snobby and girls always feel stupid and out macho’d, but not at Moog Audio. They are hands down, nice to everyone.
