Melanie Lyne sells really dressy clothes that speak expensive, high life and privilege. During my visit on Boxing Day, the services was outstanding, though some may find it a bit too attentive(this opinion is quite subjective). As soon as I walked through the door, a well dressed saleswoman greeted me with a smile. I zoomed to the sales racks and selected a few tops to try. Another saleswoman approached to suggest hanging the clothes for me in a fitting room. When I declined, the rest of the saleswomen left me alone. When I finished fitting and handed some clothes to a lady by the fitting area, she was polite and had a big smile. The payment process was speedy and pleasant. This consistent behaviour tells me that the staffs here provide polite, pleasant and high level of services, even when a customer does not look like their regular clientele(I was in sweat and old jeans). I like this service attitude, a lot. I believe that a new customer will only become a regular if she gets a good experience the first time she visits. Truth is while I won’t buy much daily wear here, I think I will drop by if I need something dressy for an event. Just a note that, even though I got a LOT of attention in the beginning, I didn’t feel any pressure to purchase at all times during my visit. Clothing: I didn’t look through all the clothes racks, so I can’t comment much. 3 stars Services: 4 stars It averages out to 3.5 stars.

Fab experience with them yesterday. Lisa was stellar at providing key quality service. She helped me shop for a great dress, the feedback she gave was sincere. I felt like I was shopping with an attentive friend, who had gone with me to fulfill a goal of mine. Lisa, btw, is in somewhere in her 30s. We chose a dress that was on sale. Bonus, at the cash we found out that the dress was further reduced. Which was nice since the reg. price of this dress was nearly $ 400. Most dresses that were at least a notch above casual, seemed to be in the $ 128-$ 200 range. I kept one star off since some of their dresses weren’t in perfect to wear condition. I kept noticing imperfections on just about every dress on sale: loose threads, untidy finishing around the shoulder or neck area. Service: awesome, attentive, sincere. Prices: higher than at H & M and Le Château. Style: More classic than trendy. Would I go again? Yes! I’ll think of ML the next time I need a classy dress. other: –I thought ML’s target group would be for older(50s+) women. Actually, they have some hot styles that younger ppl(I’m in my 30s) can rock. I first really noticed them after spotting a hot black Holiday dress by Calvin Klein or some other known label. I really wanted the dress, but could not justify the $$ purchase without have a specific reason to get it. –As with any purchase, feel free to ask them to hold something if you’d like more time to think about making the purchase. You’d have 2 weeks max. to return something. btw.

LOVE their clothes, but wait for a sale. Those $ 250 skirts eventually go down to $ 50. The staff is very helpful but you will get dirty looks if you try things on and end up not buying anything. Some of the management at the counter are snooty and rude. Customer service in Toronto is dismal. Still, their merchandise is worth dealing with their lack of genuine customer service.

I’m against animal cruelty. When I accidentally bought a coat with real fur trim(didn’t check the tags) I went back to the store to return the coat. The sales lady was very stylishly dressed, middle aged, and extremely arrogant. She asked why I was returning the coat & I told her I didn’t realize it was real fur. She looked at me like an idiot for not wanting real fur & said you don’t like real fur? I thought about saying, no I don’t like wearing the skin of an animal who died in pain so I could be warm or fashionable. But I knew saying something like that wouldn’t convince her to be against real fur. So I just said no. I was able to return the coat but needless to say, I will check tags more rigorously & I will never shop at that Melanie Lyne again! Just to compare, the sales lady at the Melanie Lyne in Yorkdale was nice!
