A nice park near Woodbine Beach, that has lots to it. A pond with a fountain, splash pad, walkways, and parking all around! This is a good place to park for the beach as its more abundant and available. Best thing is that there are public washrooms that are relatively clean, but not busy at all! Will definitely remember to park here next time in the area!

Measurement Park is barely a park at all really. More of an art installation in the north reaches of Woodbine Park. A little triangle of land between Woodbine Park, a parking lot, and Eastern Ave., you know you’re in the right place because you’ll be surrounded by giant blue rulers sticking out of the ground. That’s it. You’re in Measurement Park! I’ve never seen any brightly coloured muskoka chairs there. That pic must have been from when the park just opened. Now it’s just big blue sticks in the ground. Still nice though.

When you think of a big park, this one really isn’t. This park is actually a small, reclaimed corner piece of land that would hardly have been anything more than a holding place for garbage bins if it weren’t the local community«taking back an orphaned area and making it a green space to be enjoyed»(1) For those who walk through the Beaches Cinema and have noticed many tall, blue, rulers sticking out from the ground, then you have come to Measurement Park. It’s a neat little area fun for kids and adults to measure oneself and to be silly. I really like the idea of taking what can be presumed as wasted space, and to inject some artwork and life, making the whole Beaches area that much more interesting. This isn’t a park where you can run around and roll in acres and acres of grass, but rather, a small bit of distraction on your path to somewhere else. For those who frequent the area, drop by this small plot of land and have some measured fun! (1):
