Specialties
McGugan’s food is comforting and classic Scottish fare prepared to exacting standards. We aim to give every guest a heightened culinary experience within a traditional pub scene. Also, join us for a great weekend Brunch. Being good Scots, we also aim to provide great value!
History
Established in 2012.
This pub began as a seed in my heart a long time ago, a way to pay tribute to my late Dad. Now that it’s real I feel so proud, blessed and grateful. To quote Rabbie: «But to see her was to love her, Love but her, and love forever.»
Meet the Business Owner
Bryan Burke M.
Business Owner
To quote one reviewer: «Burke’s hallmark style is superb, well-sourced ingredients; simple, straight-forward style and flavour, flavour, flavour!»
Burke’s commitment to local food is evident. He loves doing all his own smoking and curing and demands everything is made from scratch.
By 20, he was a fully certified chef and George Brown alum. Jamie Kennedy was so impressed by Burke’s talent and energy, he made him sous chef of the Wine Bar when he was only 20. At 23, Europe beckoned where he spent a year working in top, Michelin-starred restaurants.
Burke returned to Toronto in 2007 and took on the Executive Chef job at Leslieville Joy Bistro. He then went on to build Reggie’s Old-Fashioned Sandwiches, the much-acclaimed King West shop.
In this time he is Chef /owner of: Wine Bar, Hank’s, Great Burger Kitchen & now Mcgugan’s
