Specialties
We are a unique place in the city. A large restaurant hidden in a park one block south of Queen St East, right by the water before the Beach. We serve delicious cocktails, whiskeys and beers upstairs on our tree-lined rooftop patio lounge. We also offer exquisite steaks, french onion soup & desserts. Do not forget to also come in for brunch!
History
Established in 1974.
Le Papillon originally took flight in 1974 when the restaurant introduced crepes bretonne and french onion soup to the city. It moved lcoations a few times over the years:
1970s: Jarvis St
1980s: Front & George St
1990s: Church St
After several moves in the historic St-Lawrence Market area, Le Papillon on the Park opened in a reconstructed tool & die shop in Leslieville/The Beach in 2008.
This latest location reminds guests of a Montréal bistro. The food is authentic French-Canadian accented with French classics. There is much attention to detail in the service and the atmosphere is elegant but laid-back.

Meet the Manager
Steph B.
Manager
I helped my folks build this latest Papillon restaurant in 2008. I manage the restaurant along with the wonderful Kirsten Phillips, our chef Lukas Vyhnal and sous chef Ryan Paris.
I think the food in Toronto is amazing, it’s one of the things that defines our city. I eat out two, three times a week — wish I could make it seven!
We’re a typical family-owned restaurant, you’ll always find one of us at the restaurant. Join us for brunch or dinner, we’d love to have you over.
