History

Established in 2010.

Lawrence Tong, MD, FACS, FRCSC is a double board certified Toronto plastic surgeon, with an exclusive practice in cosmetic plastic surgery. Dr. Tong grew up in Toronto, and attended medical school at the University of Toronto. He subsequently underwent Plastic Surgery specialty training at the world renowned University Of Michigan Medical Center. After his training, he joined the busiest cosmetic plastic surgery practice in Michigan, where he built a thriving practice, and loyal patient following.

After almost a decade of exclusive cosmetic plastic surgery practise in the US, Dr. Tong made the decision to return to Canada, to be closer to family. He chose the Yorkville district to set up his new practice. Utilizing the accumulated knowledge and experience from his time in America, his vision underscores our mission at Yorkville Institute of Plastic Surgery: To provide our patients with an exceptionally superior Cosmetic Surgery experience, from beginning to end… and beyond.

Whether it is a breast augmentation, tummy tuck, facelift, or Botox, Dr. Tong personally performs every procedure with one goal in mind: achieving beautiful results, safely. Dr. Tong is one of the few plastic surgeons in Canada with board certification in both the United States and Canada, and a significant practice background from the US. He has tremendous experience in all facets of breast, body, and facial cosmetic surgery. He is a member of the Am. Soc. of Plastic Surgeons, and the Am. Soc. of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Tong is active in research and education. He has authored numerous scientific papers in peer reviewed journals, and has given many presentations at local, regional, and national conferences. During his time in the US, he mentored plastic surgery fellows in training at the Wayne State University Plastic Surgery residency program. Dr. Tong continues to regularly attend educational symposia, to keep up with the latest in plastic surgery.
