It’s a bad sign when the conference center’s vat coffee is far superior to yours. But even more bitter than the coffee is my disappointment that there are no vegetarian sandwiches(and the cashier has no interest in helping the situation.) Maybe it was a blessing that I had to get a felafel across the street. Beautiful though Labazza’s space is, with its sexy outdoor patio, this café is a grimy mess — and a ton of wasted potential.

Came in with my 1 year old on a sunday morning, spacious, good service, nice latte and egg croissant. Recommend en route a harbourfront stroll!

Stopped in here just for a coffee while I was waiting for the bus, I ordered a tall medium roast drip coffee and they did not disappoint it was full of flavour and very enjoyable. The staff are friendly and they have a selection of pastries and other bits to eat.

second time at this location and I still can’t rate the food or beverages since I have yet to have any. The one star is for service. During my second visit I was next in line to be served when I am assuming a regular patron cut the line and stood in front of me. The server acknowledged I was next in line but continued to serve him his regular order. Rude on both their parts so I left. The first visit was a bit of a disaster since they had run out of anything I would have ordered. Lesson learned. I will not go back.

The coffee and food is actually quite delicious. I come here often, however the service is the worst part. It’s almost like they’re trying to be rude to the customers? Odd. The management seriously needs to reconsider training their staff.

Nice upscale décor, the coffee wasn’t bad. The service however could be better, they have some vegan desserts which is helpful for my diet! The servers were not friendly at all. They looked as if they didn’t want to be there… This is a tourist spot — I expected nice and helpful service!

The food is way overpriced. Like way overpriced. But as far as coffee goes it’s the best at Toronto’s waterfront when you’re looking for a delicious and simple cup of java. It’s so smooth and delicious — how do they do it?! Also, the sizes are named the same as Starbucks’(tall and grande) but for the large, instead of just calling it venti(cause booooring, am I right?) they call it GRANDISSIMO which is way more fun to say. Viva Italia!

Maybe some of the slowest service I’ve seen. Ordered one drink on their menu, nothing fancy. The 3 people ahead of me were waiting for 20 min; 2 had problems with orders; and 5 people after me left before me. Only good thing about it is location, but they better clean up their act before Pan Am or they won’t make it.

Is it possible to give less than 1 review. Burnt espresso and over hot latte that scalded my tongue. Over toasted croissant that felt like eating toast. And a fruit cup that felt a week old that you can buy at a grocery store. I was drawn by the«made with passion» but did not see any passion. Too bad. Nice staff but seemed overworked.

The only reason they have business in and out is the location. other than that I don’t see quality and service overall. As disappointing as it may sound, they were closing the door by 7pm when the hours were suppose to be 10pm… We arrived at approximately 6pm, the line for ordering was so unorganized as it didn’t even look like a line. I asked the lady in front of me and they didn’t even know what was happening… There was an event at the harbourfront centre that day so they were crazy busy… aside from the unorganized line… Almost everything was sold out, I wanted hot chocolate, it was sold out, I wanted tea and they didn’t have orange pekoe(isn’t that a common one?) So I ended up ordering their ice cappuccino from the machines and gelato… it was probably the only thing that was not yet sold out… so my choices were extremely limited… the cappuccino tasted like super thick sugar water… I couldn’t really taste the coffee in it since it was so heavily sugared… gelato was really sweet too… and not to forget the prices… expensive… They had a self serve water bottle with plastic cups and I had to literally split my cap in 3 cups and kept on topping it with water… the place was quite unorganized and people just left garbage all over the place which I personally couldn’t stand… All in all, I would not come back here for service(no service really) and/or the food…

Came here by accident, this hidden gem was cozy and lovely. Ice latte and special coffee were good. Many LAVAZZA posters

Can’t speak for the coffee, but the gelatos were alright. My friend order the Pistachio gelato(single scoop for around $ 3.5). The size was a little small compared to other places I been to and the flavour is a bit off… taste a little artificial. I contemplated on trying the affogato which was $ 3.80, but after trying the gelato, I decided not to risk it. Might come back here to try their coffee as they do have a really nice patio space and it fronts to the Habourfront, so you’ll always have a spectacular view.

* Really a beverage place and some food selection * Ordered the mocha frappucino clone and it blows the ‘bucks version out of the water — their coffee shot brings a richness others are missing * Had a ham and croissant as a snack — not bad but nothing special either * Staff seemed very green and not sure what they were doing at times * Wish a Lavazza was on every corner instead of crap Hortons * Would definitely return just for the drinks

Had a cappuccino, which was pretty solid. The almond croissant was tasty, but may have been a day old.

The coffee is better than Second Cup and Starbucks in the area. This place is prefect for a lazy afternoon. Enjoy a nice coffee with dessert or quick snack. But not for a proper meal! Love their tiramisu

I work at Bay and Queensquay and our options are Second cup in our building or Starbucks acorss the street from Lavazza. When this place first opened up my colleagues and I started to try it. Great coffee and nice place to sit outside. However, the arrogance and poor attitude of the owner just became too much to handle. Terrible customer service and I’ve seen on a few occasions him yelling at customers. In one instance, he yelled at a loyal customer for opening a broken door. Turns out this door has been broken for 3 weeks and he hasn’t fixed it and only had a small sign to notify people. Great coffee, terrible food, horrible service. If you’re looking for quick in and out, go for it. However despite the quality in coffee, we all now go to Starbucks or Tim Hortons right beside him.

Great place if you’re only interested in coffee and maybe a dessert. If you want a snack, look elsewhere.

Your choices for coffee are at the Harbourfront are limited to Second Cup, this place and Starbucks across the street. This place has the better baristas and ciocalata Italiano which is a super thick chocolate drink(similar to the Chantico Starbucks made years ago). So if you want better coffee, a limited selection of sandwiches and sweets and gelato that’s treated as an afterthought, this is the place. Interior: Newer, modern and cleaner than Second Cup and Starbucks. I wouldn’t say it’s a warm and inviting space, but it’s got a good outdoor space which you can probably enjoy for another month or so. Coffee prices are on par w/the competition, but food prices seem a little higher.

WOW, was this a disappointing experience. My girlfriends and I tried to grab a quick bite of breakfast before heading out on the ferry to the Islands. I ordered a small mocha and a ham and cheese croissant. When I first ordered, there were two employees behind the register; by the time I received my coffee and sandwich, there were three. All were a bit flustered and not very friendly to each other or the customers. The mocha was okay, the sandwich was okay, but what really disturbed me was the fact that a busy coffee place could have such a poor operating system. Somehow, my drink was completely forgotten until 3 other patrons behind me received their drinks. By the time I got to the table, my girlfriends had already finished eating and we had to rush to the ferry. Hopefully my experience was an anomaly and other patrons don’t have the same experience!

Harbourfront seems to be on the roll with one spot after another setting shop here. The old Service Canada! office has been replaced by a huge café from the renowned coffee house Lavazza. I like some of their espresso offering for home so was looking forward to this place when I saw the signs plastered over the new space. First the space it is big and if one includes the outdoor seating I don’t think there is a bigger café I have seen in Toronto in terms of seating. I think they will get a bit of traffic when the construction on the harborfront finishes as they are geared towards. There is plenty of staff and I counted 6 people behind the counter! Plenty of desserts options, though I didn’t try any so will update the review once I have tried them. I ordered a Grande cappuccino and it is humongous for capp. Here is the verdict Espresso: Mild Crema’: Average Milk: Frothed at decent level. Latte art is decent. I didn’t enjoy the drink much as it was too mellow for my taste and I think I will stick to the small size next time so hopefully I will have stronger drink or I suggest you ask for another shot of espresso for larger drinks. 2.5 stars for what I had.
