Three stars is A okay; and that’s what this bar is… its just okay. .Why not more stars you ask? My biggest issue with this business is simply that it doesn’t feel like a unique space. Not really, It feels like an upstairs restaurant room struggling to be separate form Smoke & Bones. And because the dinner tables next to the area where the whiskey is shelved are too close to the counter stools, it’s really not possible for anyone to sit ‘at the bar’ and enjoy a drink. Its a small thing I suppose but a critical design flaw. Anyone who sits at the counter blocks the aisle and restricts bathroom traffic flow. The staff is great and they show no sign of fatigue pushing through the bottleneck, but it must be difficult for them. The food looks and smells delicious and is by all accounts terrific. There are forty or more different types of whisky here, and the menu is original and inspiring. Tasters will like it here.
