Friendly service but we could not get past the smell that hits you when you walk in. Eau DE hobo.

Love love love this place. We were visiting Toronto and got a vacation rental in the neighborhood. This place was 5 mins walk from our place so we decided to check it out and I am so glad we did. It became our favorite hangout spot, not to mention the only place with $ 5 glass of wine. The bartender was so great. She introduced us to the owner who got us free drinks. The locals who hangout there were so great to us. We had a blast at this place. Anyone visiting Toronto and are in the East York neighborhood, definitely check this place out. Such a great time here and i have tons of pictures to prove it haha.

Bring your EI cheques! This place caters to the downtrodden of the area there is no question. This establishment is a scourge to the neighborhood and many people within earshot of the place would like nothing more than to see it shut down. Late night music and outdoor screaming, fights, yelling, etc. I have talked to people who have had their vehicles pissed on from people leaving this place or had their children awoken in the middle of the night due to screaming or fighting. The best thing that could ever happen to the Woodbine/Danforth area would be to see this place disappear. I would never go in there nor ever recommend anyone else to go in there.

Great cozy local pub with a good selection of beer on tap. The ambiance needs a little work(lighting is too bright) but the staff are friendly and nice space to unwind after a long day at the office.

I had the unfortunate experience of being served a pint that the barmaid tried to nurse to life, knowing it wasn’t right before she gave it to me. Food is extremely greasy and tasteless. Toilets are smelly and dirty. Staff are most unfriendly to anybody. This claims to be an Irish pub but it is the furtherest thing removed from an Irish Pub I have ever seen or experienced. I will NOT be returning to this local DIVE again.

The Kilt and Harp recently opened in the neighbourhood. It’s a great place for folks in this part of town to start or cap an evening of Danforth pub crawling. The pub still has a bit of a fresh paint atmosphere, but I think it will settle in nicely. The place seems to be aiming to position itself a notch above the local dives that plague the neighbourhood but somewhere south of the prices and wonderful surroundings of Dora Keough’s and it’s ilk in the cooler parts of the Danforth. To this end, they are hitting the mark. The pub is free of sad chronic alcoholics but the beer prices are not astronomically high. Several flat panels help keep the sports-minded abreast of golf, bball, etc. but they are placed in a way that ensures spaces for those not interested in TV. Music wafts up from the very back of the pub from a jukebox, I think. I much prefer this to most stereo installations because it never feels like it’s blaring at you but you can always sing along. I’m not sure why, but I’m pretty sure I heard a christmas song in April, so the jukebox may need some adjustments, but please don’t replace it. Staff are friendly. While they may not be great at putting a shamrock on your Guiness, it’s fun to watch them try.
