I’ve never written a Unilocal review before but just can’t resist for this one. I’ve been going to Julie for a over 8 months now for quarterly micro facials based on amazing Unilocal reviews. She is by far the best facial I have ever received. Great products, very knowledgable and amazing price/​value. Not only does the treatment include micro but a peel and extraction as well as mask. Added bonus is paraffin hand treatment during facial. Highly recommend Julie for micro facials!

Excellent! The place is quiet, clean and comfortable.
Gabriella was punctual, kind and always explains you what she is doing and what she is going to apply to your face. The facial massage was long, deep and relaxing.
They are really interested in the services, more than in trying to sell you the products, which is normally what most of the times the spas try to do.
I highly recommend this place, I’m looking forward to come back and check if the other services are as good as the Microdermabrasion I got.

I came here for a facial recently and I can’t stress how much I love Julia.
First and foremost, the entire experience was so relaxing. From cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, treatments, to many different types of massages, I felt like a new woman. My friends even complimented me on my soft skin afterwards. Also, the hand paraffin wax was also a nice touch.
Second, Julia would never judge you based on the products you use (and I use a lot of drugstore products). Instead, she gives you advice on how to improve your skin or why and how the habits you have affect your skin. Most importantly, she never pushed her products on me. I asked for a purifying facial for all the blackheads in my T-​zone, but she was honest to tell me I didn’t need that treatment because my skin isn’t as bad as I thought.
Thanks Julia! I can’t wait to go back for another facial.

So today was my second time visiting this place; again I had a purifying facial and I have to say that my face feels so smooth afterwards.
They choose to use products that aren’t too strong, products used on my face smelt fairly natural and I could even tell the spray had some witch hazel in it ;)

I haven’t had many facials in my lifetime but this was the best one. Gabriela took such good care of me and what I appreciated most about her was her honesty (imagine that, someone who is not trying to sell you something). I’m not sure what her background is in but she is more knowledgeable about skincare than any aesthetician I’ve ever met. She noticed right away how sensitive my skin was and recommended that I see a dermatologist instead of wasting money on facials and treatments. For that reason, I will keep coming back any time I feel like pampering myself a little. The sensitive skin facial and paraffin hand treatment were amazing. No weird reactions or breakouts after.

had a lovely facial from a great woman from Hamilton (not Julia). She was so kind and gave a great facial. It’s a clean and simple spa with nice people and great prices. I have had more luxurious experiences I would consider «5 star» but this was a perfect 4 star experience.

I have been seeing Julia every 4 weeks this year (found her on Unilocal!), and will continue to do so. She is terrific, a lovely person, and prices are reasonable. Highly recommended!

Nice place. I went there for Swedish massage and I was pretty happy with the therapist. Her name was Tania. I may go back again. The price is reasonable, 65 $ for 45 mins.

I’ve been going to Julie for about two years now, mainly for waxing and the occasional massages done by her RMT Tanya and they’ve both been amazing. Julie is very friendly and makes sure you are comfortable during your appointment and Tanya is one of the best RMT in the city! I’ve gotten Gabrielle a few times and she’s very good as well. I would recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for a wax clinic and RMT.

Julie’s place was clean & simple. I got a Brazilian done and she was comforting and tried to make it quick & least painful as possible. Prices are affordable too!

My first visit here was very satisfying. The booking process was very easy and the lady was even very kind to send emails back and forth with me to answer some of my questions.
When I got there, no one was at the desk to greet me but I felt very comfortable and just helped myself to whatever I needed. The lady came out from a room followed by a customer, and she was so welcoming.
When it was my turn to get ready for my brazilian, I noticed I wasn’t provided with any wipes so I had to ask. The wipe I got was dry and I don’t know if that was supposed to be like that or old? Anyway, when she entered she used something to clean the area first so maybe that’s why she didn’t provide any at first.
The lady was very thorough with the job (with ingrowns, tweezing short hair, etc), but I wasn’t really comforted before the whole process started. She just went. Or even during. Because I had experience with brazilian, I had to comfort and prep myself for the big ouch. Like I had to start a conversation with her and try to sense when she was going to pull the strip and quickly breathe in and breathe out at that timing to ease my pain. Phew…
The bed I lied on was also kinda unstable. When I tried to lie down, it rolled to the side a bit… plus, she gives you a napkin to cover the area instead of a towel or some sort that’s more comforting.
Overall, there were some areas where I felt uncomfortable with but just looking at the job she’s done, it was satisfying and I most likely will be back to this place. Maybe sugaring next time.

I have been going to see Julia for almost 10 years. She is the best! Very gentle and thorough. I have recommended her to all my friends-​many of whom are now long term clients.

Starting with the booking of my appointment — it was so easy, their welcoming as a new customer, everything was great.
I’m very picky when it comes to my skin (who isn’t really?), but I’ve suffered from acne most of my life, so well-​done extractions are particularly important to me.
My appointment was with Gabriella. She’s amazing! Magical hands, even during the extraction period it wasn’t as painful as it’s usually been for me at other places. The products she used also felt amazing both before and after.
Hands down recommended 100%… This coming from somebody who almost never takes the time to write reviews. I’ll be coming back undoubtedly.

Great little place! I do not have a very high pain threshold at all, I went to Gabriella for a Brazilian wax, she was extremely professional. Kept me talking all the way through so I wasn’t so tense.
They don’t double dip the stick into the wax-​super clean!
I would definitely recommend and I will be back for sure.

After a number of long grueling weeks of work, I decided it was time to treat myself. After researching online for recommended facials in the area, I stumbled upon Julia’s Esthetics. I ended up booking a massage as well since… why not?
The place is clean and fairly pleasant. I even noticed the owner discounting a loyal customer the price of a basic facial instead of the regular price, which I thought was nice. However, when it came down to payment after I had left I realized I had been charged extra for my own facial (perhaps to make up for the difference that had occurred earlier?). This was disheartening because I had left a 20% tip for both the lady who gave me the facial as well as the RMT.
I’ve had a good number of facials in my life and I could say this one was just okay. I got the Pumpkin Pro Peel Facial which ended up burning my skin slightly but that’s just me. I could count on my one hand how many ‘actions’ were processed on my face, most of the time I was just lying there. The extractions were well done though.
On the other hand, the massage was absolutely amazing. I would definitely recommend Tanya the RMT. She made me feel extremely comfortable and was firm in her massaging which I appreciate. I’ve had experiences in the past when I requested a firm massage and the RMT did not perform because «they felt like I couldn’t handle it.» This was not the case with Tanya.
I might return for another massage, but most likely not for a facial. The price is still decent for what you receive so I would recommend it if you’re looking for a relaxing experience under budget.

I started going to Julia’s Esthetics about a year ago after my original waxer closed her business.
Julie and Gabriella are awesome! They are both very welcoming and makes me feel very comfortable when I am getting waxed. I referred some friends to Julie and for each friend, Julie gives me a referral discount. You can book an appointment with them via phone or email. Julie responses really quickly via email. Just a tip, they do get booked quickly so it’s best to book a week in advance.
Gabrielle just informed me that she does sugaring so I am excited to give this a try as this method is supposed to only strip the hair as oppose to traditional waxing that strips hair and top layer of skin.

I had an amazing facial by Gabriella today. My skin is dry and sensitive and doesn’t like the cold weather very much so I wanted to treat myself to a facial. I have to say it was the best facial I have experienced, so relaxing and thorough. The paraffin hand mask was definitely an extra bonus especially in the winter months when your hands can get so dry.
As others mentioned, I was recommended products for my skin type and given a sample but I was never asked or felt like I had to buy anything, making it a perfect experience. I would definitely recommend Gabriella she was great!

Julia is awesome and I think I’m in love.
Seriously, if I could find a man who would give me a cranial massage like that, I’d marry him.
I booked a facial there which I badly needed after a rough and stressful summer in grimy, sweaty conditions (this sounds like the lead up to a salon-​based porno but I promise it was just working at a campground, nothing exotic). I opted for the Pumpkin Pro facial because I really needed all the goo of the summer good and gone. And also, who doesn’t love Pumpkin, eh? I always wanted a facial to match my latte.
Whoops, there’s another dirty joke in there somewhere.
I’m scared of looking like a peeled tomato with microdermabrasion, but Julia told me it wouldn’t be like that. Maybe next time.
Anyway, on a whim I threw in a mani-​pedi, which sounds so Sex and the City even to say, but what the heck, it was my bonus money and I could live a fantasy if I want, right? And it was less than I was used to paying on the West Coast.
The facial was really everything it was supposed to be. I have never felt that clean in my LIFE, and it didn’t sting at all. I really do feel that it not only dealt with all the debris of the season, but left my skin much healthier without irritating it. People gave me compliments all week, saying I looked like I was having a great day and you know, if you tell me I look great, I’m going to be having a great day, so they were right!
The manicure and pedicure were also great, and came with a mini massage; I went for the Deluxe because why not, and it had the salt scrub to get rid of all the dead skin and goo. Hand massage is my next favorite thing besides cranial massage. Almost typed «Head massage» but that would probably have brought on more innuendos.

After reading all these reviews, I decided to book an appointment with Julia. She was very friendly upon arrival and offered me something to drink. She was ready for me within a few minutes. She asked me if I’ve had a Brazilian done before and I mentioned it was my first time and she was great! Made me feel so comfortable and explained the process to me and even told me the steps on how to take care of my skin post waxing. She is so good at what she does I’m impressed. It’s not a pleasant wax but she chatted with me throughout the process and was extremely FAST and precise. Also she doesn’t double dip which I find extremely important. Her salon is super clean as well.
I feel that her services are very affordable in Toronto for what she offers. I will definitely go back to Julia for my next appointment!

I’m really happy to agree with all the other reviewers who gave Julie five stars. I went to her for a Sensitive Skin Facial and I now know why people love her. (I now also know why people go for facials on a somewhat regular basis! The last facial I had was fifteen years ago; if that one had been as wonderful as the one Julie gave me, I would be a spa regular.)
Julie made me feel very welcome and comfortable; during the facial, she also spoke with me about the reasons my skin reacts the way it does. She’s clearly an expert but not condescending at all. I felt as if she was just happy to help people look and feel great.
From booking the appointment through leaving the salon after my session, Julie was warm and attentive. She did an amazing job on my eczema-​prone skin for, as others have pointed out, a very fair price. It wasn’t just a scrub and an extraction; there was a massage from scalp through shoulders AND a paraffin wax treatment for my dry hands. She treated me so well.
Beautiful and thorough work by a friendly and professional esthetician, all at an inexpensive price. Perfect!
